After a few hours of taking Obama's "typical white person" quote and cutting it off---giving it the Hannity/FOX treatment, even Chris Wallace had enough and called FOX & Friends out on it. Now, being kind of cynical about FOX, I wonder if Wallace is speaking out because he's been crying that Obama won't go on FNS.

Hey listen, I love you guys but I want to take you to task if I may, respectfully, for a moment. I have been watching the show since 6:00 this morning when I got up, and it seems to me that two hours of Obama bashing on this typical white person remark is somewhat excessive and frankly I think you’re somewhat distorting what Obama had to say.
Far be it for me to be a spokesman for the Obama campaign, and I will tell you that they would laugh at that characterization, but you know, the fact is that after giving a speech on race earlier this week, on Tuesday, he gave a major speech on Iraq on Wednesday and a major speech on the economy yesterday. And so, I think they would say that in terms of deflecting attention away from the issues people really want to hear about, maybe it’s the media doing it, not Barack Obama.

Gee whiz....for several minutes there, FOX News actually lived up to the normally laughable "Fair and Balanced" slogan. Rupert will not be pleased.
I don't know why it happened but it sure was fun to watch. Getting your hand smacked in front of your audience can't feel too good. Each of them trying to defend what they had said sounded like three kids trying to explain to dad what they had done.
I don't know about you, but I am suspicious. Why would anyone on Fox News be defending a Democrat? It may very well be like John suggested hat Wallace feels hurt about not getting an interview. It also may be that that the Fox people see the writing on the wall - the Republican brand is sinking and it's not good to cast your lot with a sinking ship. Still, the tin foil hatter in me suspects something more sinister.
If I was a member of the pundit class I would react to this story in the normal fashion: by clutching my pearls and drinking a couple of apple martinis. But I'm not, so I won't.

" Kilmeade and Wallace agreed with each other about the content of the show, and then there was a funny moment: Wallace asked, "How mad is Doocy at me?" and Kilmeade said, "He's mad. I agree with some of the posters above. Chris Wallace isn't protecting OBAMA; he's protecting FOX NEWS and its brand by slamming Stocy etc for putting out CLUMSY propaganda...not the good covert stuff.
Say what you want about Fox but they know good propaganda. The fact that Fox is putting the Pastor/typical white person story out in front on every show affords even the dumbest of viewers (20%ers) the ability to recognize Fox is manufacturing controversy.
Why does Wallace care? Fox News is part of the right wing propaganda machine. Fox News works is because it carries at some creditability with 20%ers. Conservatives can't allow Fox to lose creditability among its dumbest viewers. Wallace is stepping in to save the machine. Wallace is jumping on Docy to give the appearance of fairness and balance to allow 20%ers to believe the big lie...FOX is fair and Balanced.

i think what we're seeing from wallace on fox here is the final effect of market share on fox news and it's programming. msnbc led by olberman and a resurgent more left leaning newsroom is starting to worry fox news to the point that they've been forced by the fox suits to "left it up a bit".

Those sorts of slip ups can expose the underbelly of the corrupt media beast, Fox News. Rupert's little dragon is running out of fire. It's choking on the mortal wounds from their lies. Wallace lends tremendous street-cred with the moderates and he's distancing himself to show independence when he seeks another opportunity elsewhere. But uttering any inference about a conspiracy to fix the propaganda output by using deflections and diversions. Wallace is now sensing the grave implications of the dragons power, influence, and corruption.

Wallace is one of the few decent people on that network. I don't think it's fair to be going after him for playing the "24" music while asking Obama to come on. It was obviously meant to be a joke, a form of hyperbolous dramatization, not any kind of smear about homeland security or anything. media production industry. I know how live tv works. I wish to god I knew if

Anyway, this to me seems like completely transparent moment, as happens in media production
at times, usually left on the editing floor, except when LIVE you can't. I think the Chris Matthews clip, and others are evidence for the future (IF saved, is any of this stuff archived properly?) of how Obama ripped a kind of hole in the entire charade. By his WORDS (yes, Hillary) he has brought "professionlals" (these anchor guys) ON AIR to their knees. They're flustering, they're turning on one another, they're running - it's kind of a beautiful sight! I don't think it's very calculated at all, this is pretty raw, and TV history (just as TV as we know it is ending, if you think about it) is made - if we can notice and recognize ourselves in the context of history NOW.
Think for yourselves people, and study, study - I'm learning all the time though more about bigotry lately from this site than I thought I ever needed or wanted to. We're at a historical moment though, I'm sure of that. Media people - any out there care to post?

The Fox's problem is that they realize their own importance is suspect if they must rely on news feeds taken about Obama and they themselves, can't create this drama and imaginary 'intelligence of reporting' they alone supposedly have.
Both videos are a cynical attempt to entice Obama to appear on their network. As I recall the 'B-0' guy received a promise from Obama that it would occur after the primaries. FOX obviously is trying to find a way to make it before the primaries. Ergo, suddenly FOX people are suddenly quasi "fair and balanced".
I don't buy it. Fox is suffering because the one person that everyone is talking about is not talking to them.

First, I should think they would avoid calling their show Fox and Friends. Someone at Fox has a perverse sense of humor. Rainer Werner Fassbinder, the late German iconoclastic filmmaker, did a movie in 1974 titled Fox and His Friends, whose subject was class warfare and homosexuality. Second, I think they should replace Gretchen Carlson with an inflatable porno doll resembling Barbee. She looks and talks like she has air pumped shoulder pads to protect herself when she goes, "I don't know!" Third, for Chrissy Pooh Wall-ass to chide these three airheads for being tough on a progressive political candidate smacks of a put-up job by a devil's advocate, i.e. a made-to-order straw man. The regulars are too dumb to think of anything original to say, so the producer called Chrissy Pooh and asked him to call in and generate phony controversy. I know Murdoch's News Corp owns 20th Century Fox and its library of films, but do they have to turn cable news into a Hollywood fantasy?

All of this stuff is taken out of context, the "typical white person" comment is true in context, just a bad choice of three words, even Jeremiah Wright's full context of his speech is true, undeniably so. I have'nt been able to watch Fox News for years now because of it's tabloidish nature, and it's catering to the feable minded knuckleheads of our society. One day the grownups are going to take over and things that have been left to fester will be solved. In the 60's they were talking about energy security and even had gasohol (60's name for e-85 ethanol). They've been talking about social security and healthcare for decades now. The environment has been an issue since the 60's also. God knows how long people have wanted public financing of campaigns. What are they saving these issues for the next campaign or are we actually going to fix something for once. How does half our government entice illegal immigrants to come here to work and live and then the other half want to kick them out? You can't let people plant roots here for years and then kick them out, but you can secure the border so no more come here illegally. I thought only fascist dictators and third world countries kicked millions of people out of their homes to send them off elsewhere. Don't our politicians call that ethnic cleansing when one of our so-called enemies does that kind of thing?

I belive that if you want to end the war and faster than it started.
Bring back The Military Draft and that would be the end of it.
A volenteer military is a good thing in peace time but not good when
