'McCain Media' Love from Charlie Rose

Yep, we'll have a chance with them in November:

During an interview with Sen. Chuck Hagel, Charlie Rose falsely asserted that Sen. John McCain "early on call[ed] for the firing of Secretary Rumsfeld." In fact, while McCain expressed "no confidence" in Rumsfeld in 2004, he did not call for him to be fired; he said the decision about whether Rumsfeld should leave was the president's.

oooh charlie rose...

pathetic waste of msm flesh!!

want a good laugh watch charlie interview noam chomsky!!!!

Charlie Gets Pwned!!!

Charlie Rose,
Charlie Rose,
What you're thinking,
No-one knows.
Just what keeps you
From what is true,
I have no clue
My Charlie Rose.

Add Charlie Rose to the stinking heap of MSM assclowns.
...oh wait, he was already sitting there on top of the pile?

Just to be sure, we are talking about PBS, an arm (with needle) of the new regime, and this is more watchable than what preceded it? PBS had to try entertainment news and chose boredom instead. The BBC is more hep than PBS now, what happened to our country?

Where do these clowns get their information, from the candidates' press releases? Please, "journalists", get off your asses and do some basic research. Rose could have verified or refuted this "fact" with about 3 minutes' research. Until people like Rose learn some basic journalist integrity the American people will remain in the dark.

This election and real football. Can't wait until the fall. When the actual direct questions come to Johnny fast and furious, the old dude will have an aneurysm.

Yes I agree with Charlie I'm just like Charlie because he appeals to my advanced sheeple intellect.

woodguy @ 5:

From above. The guys who cut their pay checks.

So I have to decide if I want to go bowling with Obama, nuking with McDuke, or doing the Rocky Balboa with Hillary.

It's been said that McCain called for Rumsfeld to step down more than it's been said he didn't. McCain says it over and over again. I can see how the person on the street could have it wrong, but anyone with a tv show should be sure they know what they are talking about before repeating what they've heard.

We have "a chance"??? We should be 15 points ahead...but we are going to nominate an incompetent liar...uh, wait...I mean a hopeful messenger of change.

"I’m Barack Obama. I don’t take money from oil companies or Washington lobbyists"

Can you say, Doooooooomed?

L.A. Confidential @ 9:

Go bowling with Obama. At least he can laugh and have fun. His ego won't keep him from laughing at himself when he goofs up at a silly game. I like that in a person.

MY GOODNESS, our MSM fudging on the "facts"...you know one needs to be retired and interested in constantly reading, listening, and remembering to be sure that ANYTHING one hears is true! It's exhausting!!!!!

Charlie Rose blows every guest on his dismal show. Nothing new. What an ass.

I'm not sure what's up with Rose lately, but he's been sounding a LOT more like he's moving to Colo. Springs lately than not.. (reference to Dobson's Klan )

He's become blatant about stuff like the McCain misquote and if any one else noticed last week when he had the Russian ambassador on his program he almost sounded like someone from the old Cold War era..it's getting scary...

Maybe it's just the black eye but I don't think so...

Charlie is good people - just a flub on his part. He's not Matt Lauer/ Wolf Blitzer/ Anderson Dandyboy or some other uninformed mouthpiece of disinformation. He's a long time, real journalist, who, in this case, was incorrect.

How about we get shillary to gtfo so we can bring the hurt to Mcbush. Now that would be a better use of everyone's time and energy imho.

Yeah. Hilarious. When you said "incompetent liar" you have to have meant Hillary "rambo" Clinton. And if you think nutty, ensure drinking, "100 years war" Johnny is a better choice, go right ahead fool. You sound like one of those stupid "Bush Democrats" from 2000 & 2004.

The only two TV heads that realize we are in a serious Catch 22 are Stewart and Mayer. The rest are pretty much just capitalizing and raking in the millions.

A few things:

-Did you read the link? Guess not. Reading not yer thing? Thinking for yourself not something you're "into"? Pity.
-No, McCain would be a disaster...Hence the "We are doomed" part. (Oppss, that pesky reading thing again, sorry.)
-Your name calling is really, really impressive...intellect wise. Party on.

This is a distinction without a difference. It's close enough.
Having no confidence certainly implies a desire for his departure.

There are interviewers who play gotcha (selectively) like Russert and there are interviewers who get people to open up, like Rose. Not every interviewer has to be antagonistic. I love Olberman but he certainly played softball with Obama and he seldom has serious disagreement on his show but he's on our side so he's a good guy. The media is and has always been an advocate for whatever the management sees fit. Nothing new here.

Since I have never seen the Charlie Rose show, maybe I shouldn't criticize him.......oh, what the heck. Dude needs to get with the program and the facts.

I just saw Ann Curry interviewing Obama. She was trying to stir things up with him but as always he kept his cool and took the high road. Then she got into just fun questions and asked him, Bowling or Basketball? He said basketball. She said you really don't like bowling? He said no but that film clip showed I'm not afraid to try something new.

Good stuff!

I'm so looking forward to seeing Obama on Hardball tomorrow night. Chris will get all loud and excited and drooling about something and Obama is just going to sit there and smile and wait until the EMTs come in and clam Chris down. Then Obama will give a well thought out answer in a calm cool manner.

Also looking forward to McCain being on there later in the month. It'll be interesting to see how Chris treats him and if he calls him out on any of his senior moments or excuses him for any he might have on the show.

What's up with Hagel? He complains about Bush and the executive branch take-over, but does nothing about it! He acts like a former senator, not a current senator. Hagel - Back up your lip service with some votes against the regime.

I read the link, and I'm not sure why you think it's some slam-dunk indictment of Obama. The FactCheck.org article concludes:

- Obama is truthful when he says that he doesn't take money from oil companies; however, the claim is somewhat misleading because oil companies are prohibited by law from contributing directly to ANY candidate.
- Obama has, however, taken contributions from people in the oil and gas industry, to the tune of $213,000, which is actually less than Hillary has accepted ($306,000).
- While Obama's claim about not taking money from lobbyists involves some "hair-splitting," as FactCheck puts it, it is factualy accurate.

So where exactly is the "lie"?

If you think McCain is getting a free ride from the media, why weren't these reports included in Hillary Clinton's Library Files:

charlie rose is why media is not relevant.

I see no comparison to the outright lie Hillary told.

The very link you posted doesn't even seem to support your opinion that this some sort of scandal.

If it's been known for a century I'd hardly say by him stating it, he will somehow be dooooooed.

The whole you way you portray this non-story is a joke.

Didn't say it was a "scandal." He said one thing and the truth is another.

Look, either he's the second coming ("Our Mandela") or he's a typical, slimy politician. I think the latter.

Duh.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that you would make that pathetic Obama/Mandela analogy. This is from the Hillary/Rove (and completely rejected by most fair minded people) negative/ slightly racial playbook. You really know how to convince.

"Hillary/Rove"? Uh huh. So do you.

You are a troll but not just any troll. You're the latest in a long line of trolls to come on hear crying "he's doooomed I tell ya...dooomed.

You'll hang around for a short while until the locals embarrass you and eventually stop feeding you at which time you go back to RED STATE : )

Uh, ask around, Genius. I've been here longer than the likes of you, "StevePam". Paleeeze.

Charlie throws soft balls to all his fascist guests. I was truly revolted by his gentle handling of Paul Wolfowitz. I think it's deliberate. He does that so nobody will refuse his interviews. Often he subtly slips in a tone or question which causes the guest to hang themselves without even knowing their doing it.

Overall, it's hard to listen to. I sent Charlie the nastiest email after that Wolfowitz interview. Not one mention of Wolfie's contention that the Iraq war would cost $5 billion. Nothing on his obvious incompetence or neocon fuck-headedness.

McCain a confused senile old man Here he is declaring Putin President of Germany Just what our foreign policy needs another idiot at the helm

I used to like Charlie Rose, but the more I see of him, and I do watch a lot, the more he is coming off as a typical Media Whore.

Bill Moyers is the only really great one left.

Just to be sure, we are talking about PBS, an arm (with needle) of the new regime, and this is more watchable than what preceded it? PBS had to try entertainment news and chose boredom instead. The BBC is more hep than PBS now, what happened to our country?

Wrong. The BBC was great until Thatcher declawed it. Hasn't been the same since.

If I can interrupt the argument about Obama for a moment, I'd like to suggest that as taxpayers we're funding Charlie Rose's job. Reiterating what has also been stated above, anyone who's interested in letting Mr. Rose know what you think about his credility, or lack thereof, can send him an email.

I was obviously comparing Hillary and Rove's tactics(many others have made that same comparison, dumb ass). Now explain how you by some weird coincidence came up with this Obama/Mandela analogy.

Done. Thanks for this.

I`ve stopped watching Charlie Rose cause he kisses Thom Friedman`s ass every time he`s on the show, and he just doesn`t get the Iraq thing at all.Another scared quasi-journalist who doesn`t report the news.I like when Nathan Lane is on.
