If there was ever a perfect example of the John McCain media double-standard, the TODAY show Friday morning provided it. When confronted with the hard-hitting DNC ad highlighting his utterly delusional view on the strength of the US economy, McCain, with a few insignificant caveats, simply changes his position from "we're better off" to "no, we're not better off." That's all it takes when you're Saint John McCain: you can flip and you can flop away with impunity because you know you will never be called on it.

McCain in DNC Ad: I think we're better off overall.

Viera: So, Senator, you do not believe we're better off by any means than we were eight years ago?

McCain: Oh, no. No.

There you go.
