HRC: Says In Race After Tuesday
MSNBC - 1 hour ago
CARY, NC - Hillary Clinton suggested today that she intends to contest primaries beyond Tuesday, but stopped short of saying she’d take her bid for the nomination to the convention.

... i just don't know what to think... or how to write what i think...
probably, best not... just, there it is...

What American company in 1930 hoped to show that the “free exchange of goods, services, and labor in the free market would not have to mean mindless consumerism or eternal exploitation of people and natural resources.” Instead “workers would be liberated by increasingly higher wages and shorter hours for the final freedom promised by the Declaration of Independence-the pursuit of happiness.”

I meant it is an incredibly boring news day.

No Orange Alerts, Bin Laden . . . the usual terror fare and war stuff.

U.S. under pressure to fork out more food aid.

Damn we can't even afford to pay our troops without borrowing more money let alone feed the world at this point.

Great Colbert video btw.

Well yeah, okay. I liked Colbert when he was acting in 'Strangers With Candy' and it seems he's playing the same role-himself. I recently came across an article, maybe at HuffPo stating 'Is Colbert Really a Republican?' I believe he is and always said so to friends. Anyhey, I really appreciate 'The Daily Show' better as the program accentuates the news, not the cult of the personality. John Stewart makes the news funny, Colbert tries to make the news spotlight himself. Just a preference I guess. John stewart is someone I could have as a friend, Colbert is someone I would avoid.

Well, obviously a different context, but what if people actually did vote for someone who's written off because nobody votes for him? I prefer to make my vote based on something other than the likelihood of others voting for that same person.

I gotta say, your statement is pointed but succinct. It is always easier to get the 'masses' to go against an idea, as they (we) react by gut and fear, rather than get them to go for an idea. Going for an idea requires insight and fervent thought, too taxing for some to evan want to attempt.

I don't think you are elitist, I think you are informed. I wish everyone was informed and would be more assertive rather than aggressive.

I think Colbert is brilliant. I don't care what his political affiliation is. He perfectly satirizes the uber--right wing talking head.

Of course he tries to make the news spotlight himself. That's the whole joke. The Bull O'Really?s, Shear Insanities and HeadRush Limbos of the media have such overpowering egos that they convince themselves that their every gut feeling is gospel. Facts don't matter, and if you don't agree with them, they consider you to be a traitor to the nation.

Colbert himself acknowledged that the people he's lampooning are so over-the-top themselves that it's almost impossible to exaggerate for the purposes of parody. I think he does it brilliantly.

Howard Dean as much as said that Hillary will get the nomination even though Obama has the popular vote. Why else would she sink so much of her own money into a campaign that is dead? If this is what the Democratic party comes down to I will vote for the alternate, Nadar or anyone but McCain or Clinton. They are both the same. Doesn't dean have anything holding his ears apart? The Republicans are bragging that they changed over to vote for Clinton because they feel that McCain can beat her. I think the alternative is also acceptable for them because she is clearly on the same page as they are and not where the members of the Democratic party are.

Perhaps this is dragging on so long because they don't know what to do about Obama. They allowed (perhaps encouraged?) [Deleted. Misogyny-Sitemonitor] to attack him on issues such as his former paster. She must have gotten the green light to attack him about the 3 AM call, yet he is still doing exceptionally well. What is next, count Michigan where his name was not even on the ballot? Count Florida where she was already known because of Bill and he never bothered to campaign so people voted blind? Were they put aside as insurance of some sort?

I am so sick of this crap. I just re-registered INDEPENDENT. I am sick of the Democrats we elect bowing and kissing Bush's ass and giving him everything that he wants even though we made it clear what we demanded.

Obama said he will investigate the Bush administration to see what kinds of crimes they are guilty of when he is elected. Will this be his downfall? Is that what they are afraid of? The only ones who should be afraid is Bush and his entire administration, not the Democrats....but I Don't think we have a two party system anymore, the whole lot of them seem to work together. I can't tell the difference anymore.

We get a fresh face, someone who can make a difference and make a change and we are already warned that popular vote will not make any difference. So why bother even having us waste our time and vote in the primaries if it has already been decided?

Heh, every single one of your points has a corollary on the other side. The other side thinks Dean is biased in favor of Obama, and that it's just sooooo obvious. The other side thinks that the media loves Obama, but hates Clinton.

You know what I'm sick of? Increasingly infantile supporters on both sides using every single thread to rant about the candidate they don't like.

I'm also largely sick of the Democratic Party. I know that the choice all too often comes down to Dirt or Rubbish. But I'd rather have Clinton replacing Justices Stevens and Ginsburg than McCain.

How can I know whether I agree with them until I read them?

Besides, it's not that I don't want people to disagree with me. (I happen to support Obama over Clinton, too.) I love debate. But the Clinton and Obama wars among their juvenile backers threaten to hijack every thread, whether relevant or not.

I never said that mine was the only opinion that counted. I said that I was sick of the incessant and infantile ranting and raving.

Then stop ranting and raving about how those who are venting here bother you and you consider them infantile. I see [Deleted. Misogyny-Sitemonitor] as nothing more than a Republican running under the Democratic umbrella and the more people who see it the better so I will continue to point it out.

No, see, when I ranted and raved it bothered you. :) So much that you retorted with, "Your opinion isn't the only one that counts." There was a point to my ranting and raving. To show you how obnoxious it is.

I'll give ya a couple points for trying to point out ironic hypocrisy, though. Not a bad rhetorical attempt.

What you should have argued: "Your complaints about the hijacking of every thread with petty Obama/Clinton wars are futile. We will not be deterred from hijacking every thread. We need to rant like you need to breathe, and we don't care if it's relevant to the topic at hand. We want the world to see it our way, and if you don't like it, you can stop reading C&L or try your best to ignore us. But trying to stop us is an exercise in futility."

Colbert's saying Bammer can't win. He must be flamed out for that! Expect massive hits from the Obamanation.

I have encountered at least 4 Republicans who had no idea Colbert was in fact making a parody of the Republican mindset- they thought he was a serious Republican..Are these righties just plain stupid?

i guess you have to be in my neck of the woods to understand...

yes, i am generalizing - myself a h.s. grad only (tho i raised 2 geniuses!) - but i live and work amongst all kinds of bigots, and MOST are "less-educated" and all are white... blacks are not very welcome here... only 2 families have tried, one left after a few years, the other is direct from africa... what can i say?

sorry to offend... the facts took me by surprise too... i had no idea how prevalent it has become until this past year... of course, now the mexicans have become the latest targets of that hate and ignorance... and, they all have jobs... go figure...

i'm hardly "elitist", and i know i'm no "twit"...
