Kansas Democratic Party Suggests Revised Invite to
President Bush’s Campaign Fundraiser for Nick Jordan
Topeka - In light of Sen. Nick Jordan’s welcome association with President Bush, Dick Cheney and the failed policies of the Bush administration, the Kansas Democratic Party is suggesting a more appropriate invitation to this Thursday’s fundraiser.
“A lifelong Kansan, Nick Jordan is a strong supporter of President George W. Bush, and Bush’s policies at home and abroad.
“For 12 years, Nick has worked tirelessly in the Kansas Senate to create a moderate public image, while never wavering from his true conservative credentials and his support for our President.
“Nick believes in President Bush and his policy of keeping our troops in Iraq indefinitely. Nick believes there’s nothing wrong with America that can’t be fixed by continuing to spend hundreds of billions of dollars in Iraq. Read on...
Given how poor his popularity levels are and how disastrous his presidency has been, it's no surprise that GOP candidates want to stay as far from Bush publicly as possible, but they'll take his help to raise money from the fringe party base nonetheless. (see Senator John McCain) I have to hand it to the Kansas Democratic Party. They have embraced the internets and are showing some serious backbone. It helps to have strong Democrats like Governor Kathleen Sebelius and Rep. Nancy Boyda around to back up their message.

Frust!
Simply Brilliant.
and who is paying for bush's trip by
airforce one and all the security and
press that he takes with him to these events?
i sure hope that this is not taxpayer's money.......
as a democrat i would like a class action suit filed
on behalf of ALL NON-RETHUGLICANS, if bush
is charging this off to the American taxpayers.
Cheney will get you my pretty, and your little dog, too.
Which makes plenty of sense , especially considering the guy never attended college.......Only the GOP would place someone so manifestly unqualified in a position they have not the slightest clue about or any type of personal experience in/with.
I just have to say, as a Kansas Democrat, we have to be a ballsy bunch. Remember this is the state that has denied evolution. States don't come much redder than the Sunflower state.
When Bush is in Church on fire for the Lord, does that make him a Burning Bush to somebody like Holy Joe?
Attila the Appeaser @ 4:
"i'm melting!!! I'm melting!!!"
I guess being in state that deep red gives you some real balls to hit back. Well done Kansans.
dadams @ 3:
Bothers me also. No President of any party should be abusing tax payer dollars in a partisan effort.
Whats the matter with Kansas? (Repubs)
Remember the book, "What About Kansas"? They may have been a litlle more gullible in the bush lies but having just watched a Discovery Channel show about Greensburg(?) Kansas and the aftermath of their devastating tornado on May 5th last year, they have as a town decided to go entirely green. I bet the Kansans of that area end up much more progressive than the rest of this country. Major baby steps. I'm keeping on eye on them.
This is going to make Sen. Nick Jordan very bitter. Very bitter indeed.

yeah [spitting in disgust] unlike the national dems who are, in my opinion, a textbook example of "appeaser."
that we are not now in the midst of impeachment hearings should shame nancy pelosi, harry reid and the rest of the democratic "leadership" for the rest of their lives. unfortunately, i can only wish. they have no shame.
Well, you know what they say! It's all about WHO you know! More things change, the more they stay the same.

Bravo! And about time.
an article a few days ago by the same TV station in Kansas City that did a story on Phil Klien (KCTV5) ran a story on how the GOP congressmen and long time Bushies Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts were avoiding this visit.

Wonderful and clever. Good job Kansans

Jordan's second mistake (after running against Congressman Moore in the KS 3rd) is aligning himself to Dumbya's failed policies.
Parenthetically, keep your eye on Jim Slattery to win the Democratic nod for the Senate to unseat Roberts.
Lastly, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Kathleen winds up being Obama's running mate. In my opinion, she's the best option.
None of Kansas' senators are bothering to show up to meet with Bush. Although Brownback isn't up for re-election and Roberts is they have better things to do than be associated with Bush.
I'm on the border of Kansas in Waldo, MO (I know, "Where's Waldo?" har har har) and I have to say, there are some fucking dumb-as-shit people in Kansas. Not all Kansans, mind you, I have a few good Democrat friends with big brains and loud voices, but those Republicans over there probably wouldn't even see this invitation as anything amiss. I won't be surprised if this state goes to McCain in Nov, but make sure when you diss Kansas you specify Republicans, b/c the Dems are VERY different there.
VOTE REPUBLICAN IN 2008!

Bush shows up for an event, no one will even pick him up at the airport. He's been taking SuperShuttle to fundraisers.
My kids were watching Sesame Street the other day. The letter of the day was "W". Elmo came out and said, "Never mind. It's too depressing."
