The Republicans change, but the bamboozlement remains the same

In the latest NBC/WSJ poll, released yesterday, there was a noticeable trend when it came to age groups — the younger the voter, the more likely he/she was to support Barack Obama. The only age group in which John McCain excelled was with those over 65 (who prefer McCain to Obama, 48% to 41%).

How can Obama win older voters over? Perhaps McCain’s position on Social Security might help.

As Kombiz Lavasany put it, “Someone should tell John McCain that if you’re going to misrepresent a position you’ve held, you should probably not have held the opposite position on video.”

Backpeddle Express!

Good Morning USA.
I'm one of those old dudes, 71 last October, but I got to tell you, Anyone who would vote for a War oriented Hawk in this time of World Politics is just plain CRAZY.

McBush was for privatizing Social Security before McSame was against it.

My Friends, Vicky Iseman, is the best darn lobbyist I've ever had.

for barack to win some older voters all he can do is get in front of them and let them get to know him

We're so lucky to have someone with a name like McCain. I mean, you can put *anything* after Mc and everyone knows who you're talking about, AND you get to make fun of him. Truly a blessed occurance.

Go ahead McCain. Talk about privatizing Social Security. Watch the old folks run away in droves.

There are so many instances where McFlip-Flop has done this that we could make one of these ADs every week.

Yes, the name can be bent in each instance of his flipflopery to fit the situation.

Flip-flop!

♠Bangkok-Bob♠ if it is Saturday already where you are quick tell what Friday night's lottery numbers were here in Florida. Please?

I'm an older (68) white, suburban woman, and McCain scares me to death. I've been pro-Obama since I the 2004 convention. I wonder why the pollsters never ask me.

And this is why the GOP is utterly dead soon as this generation dies off.

cos you're too cute and smart, silly.
mcjohn isn't nearly as scary as his enablers, and the people he likes to hug.
he'd be more of a sockpuppet than bushy. plus, he bites hard.
i think those town meeting frauds will bite harder, and unless he runs over the rules of debate like bushy v. kerry, obama will make stars in the eyes of unbelievers.
face to face, with honor, telling the truth...plus he's got your vote? it's fabulous. the posters of many blogs are going to be revealing their ages, and will surprise many who thought they were "kids."

Sokay, I use something called Anonymity to get by firewalls. here they don't allow You-Tube (since that incident with the King) and besides, with the FISA crap and all I just figure you can't be too safe.

Just keep hammering it home: John McSame, who has been on the government payroll since birth, is a triple-dipper who wants to give your Social Security to the bankers - you, know; the type of folks who gave us the mortgage crisis.

Kinda dead here tonight, think I'll try TEH Google on the Internet tubes ... "It's not a big truck"!

Oh damn! That one is going to haunt him hard, nice catch.

THANKS!! That's a great site. You don't have to do anything either, it will just cycle through each Lie and then show him contradicting himself automatically.
Everybody in my address book is going to get this Site sent to them.
Again, thanks a lot.

The real problem is, over 65 voters aren't computer savvy and therefore, don't expose themselves to alternatives to the Corporate Media that can be found on the web. Very few over 65 voters will ever see this video or be exposed to youtube. They exist in a media environment similar to the One in Orwell's "1984" where the past is rewritten daily to suit the establishment elite narrative of the day. Thus, all they know is the public relations Corporate Media constructed narrative of McCain as the moderate maverick non-Republican Republican.

While the Obama campaign has the most sophisticated new media, internet grass roots campaign ever devised, it's only effective with a younger audience. We need to figure out a way to circumvent the Corporate Media and get the message out to these older voters.

Not a lot of truth in that snowball. I'm 71, most of the folks I know are 65 plus and they all have computers and get their news via Internet. Plus they keep in touch with family.

Well, there is one way to make McCain's comments consistent (in this little clip, at least).

He says he's not for privatization in one of the clips. In the other, he says that Social Security is not viable without privatization. Ergo, John McCain wants Social Security to die altogether.

Of course, if you actually watch some of the more full versions of his statements, context and all, he goes right back to being a liar. (No, I tend not to think he's so senile or forgetful that he was being honest about his positions.)

i just shit my Depends again my friends.........

This is not a flip flop. He knows what hes saying now, and he knows what he said then. He just doesnt expect anyone to call him on it. He is a flat out liar. He is a war hero after all, tortured you know, so questioning him is not allowed as itd be questioning his integrity and patriotism. His patriotism is solid, but his integrity doesnt exist. He sold that years ago, when he threw that 2000 version of himself away into the trash. that version thatd actually be getting him places in this election. this current incarnation is a sad old fool compared with that one from 8 years ago. sigh.

That's the truth of it "breakspear" the f*$!n MSM is giving him the same pass as Bush and God knows it may be with the same results. All they have to do is reveiw the tapes, it's all there if they'd look.

Mc Same is an absolute "IDIOT" I'm not sure if he's suffering from Dementia or he is just plain stupid but some of the ridiculous statements he's made over the last few months have been totally off the wall. It just never seems to stop.
I saw a poll on the Net yesterday that has Obama ONLY up by only 6 point and it makes me wonder, who are the 94% of FOOLS who would vote for this MANIAC?

Flipping and Flopping The New George John McSame

Election 2008 should see this new character who has the ability to change with the wind. Yes, he will be the candidate for change. Changing his statements, changing his line and changing his mind.

As a hero, in this case superhero, his morphing abilities fits with the current legend of Oil men who serve the nation in their fight against Al Qaeda. Together the team of heroes will rid of those Al Qaeda guys over and over again. With their surge weapon, nothing can stop them from their mission. McSame is on the job, so we can all rest in pieces assured they will defeat Osoma and his Al Qaeda forces.

Yeah, I tend to agree. For an example of how it works, watch Wesley Clark point out that McCain is essentially untested on foreign policy, arguing that having served as a soldier in a war, admirable though it might be, does not, on its own, qualify one to lead the free world. The intrepid heads of Morning Joe offer a uniquely boneheaded repartee that amounts to nothing more than, "But . . . but . . . he's McCain! He's a hero!"

But if enduring eight years of Rovian tactics should have taught us anything, it's that we should attack our opponent on his (perceived) strengths. No matter how ridiculous the claim, repeat it enough, and it will become true in enough people's heads. They will doubt what they thought they knew. And hey, by going after McCain for lacking foreign policy experience -- just like his admitted lack of understanding about the economy -- it has the virtue of being true.

I'm a 63 year old white woman who lives in Illinois and I voted for Obama for the US Senate in 2004. I will vote for him again for President.

My Friends,

maybe the shame of it is the bastard just got the opportunity AFTER boosh fucked things up. now he has to be a better boosh, which means more of a liar and more hateful and contemptuous, especially of the truth and of people.

Someone should tell McCain that when the little light is on, the camera is recording.

This is why I have little faith in him as a legitimate candidate. He is hopelessly outmatched and clueless in the Youtube world.

I am 60 and my husband is 68 (and both southern WASPs). Both of us are voting for Obama.

Is there any position he HASN'T reversed himself on?

I saw Wesley Clark on Morning Joe and the bunch of them were defending McCain. Never could understand how being a POW gives you all that much experience on foriegn policy. And he has only been on cttees, what field experience does he have.
But do you think the MSM would admit to any of this; ha.

All republicans are fools and liars from the top of the heap to the bottom!

The Republicants don't change. They are a dying breed, thankfully. Please, citizens, tell your parents and your grandmother that their undying devotion to the R is killing this country. And tell them all the ways.

Why not just call it for what it is. McCain will say and do anything to get elected.

Before he thought that the Bush name would position McCain to win. Hence, McCain said, "I am for private SS plans", now that Bush is taboo McCain says, "I am against private SS plans". McCain goes where the wind blows him. Vote the bum out!

McLiar

Okay, so who's going to organize people to bring flip-flops to McCain events to wave them in the air while he talks? And will the media show this?

I'm 68 and would NEVER vote for McSame or any Repugnant for the matter considering their policy on social security, medicare and most programs where seniors benefit. Not to mention any programs that the people benefit.

It's sad to say but the seniors in this country our out of touch... they still buy GM cars, believe in "my country right or wrong", still think the government "supports the troops" and smaller government is a good thing. What is totally amazing is how the repubs have been trying to take their retirement benefits and pensions away and the STILL vote on the right. Stupidity knows no age bounds.

I have some thoughts on this...http://www.tagg-theangrygayguy.com
