McCain ad did make fun of Obama's appearance.

Check out this ad on McCain's website and tell me if Obama was justified in saying that they are going after the way he looks. Of course he was. The ad even puts his face on our currency. Obama was just stating the obvious. Not that any of this matters to Rick Davis.

Remember when I caught Republican operative Ed Rogers back in '06 begin the assault on Obama's name.

Ed Rogers: Barack “Hussein” Obama

Ed Rogers: Count me down as somebody who underestimates Barack "Hussein" Obama. Please

JUST KEEP HAMMERING THE TRUTH HOME!

This needs to get out today! The MSM needs to do their fucking jobs and report this!

McCain wouldn't know Photoshop if it bit him in the ass.

Enjoy.

McCain wouldn't know Photoshop if it bit him in the ass.
Enjoy.

But his minions sure do.

Republicans are a sleezy bunch of mofos and everyone knows it! And these ads are showing them in that true light... sleezy effers each and every slimy ba$tard one of 'em.

Because they can't convince McCain's followers on the issues or ideas, they have decided to just mock, ridicule and create a little more fear about Obama. The level of discussion / argument is at the level of a grade school's playground.

You get the government you deserve.

If you watch it without the sound (I'm at work) it actually seems pro-Obama.

A black face on our national treasures? Horrors!

.

status quObama isn't best represented by money... although that is a good analogy... got campaign finance reform promises?

I'd make status quObama out to be a bell, always ringing and occasionally promising to unring it.

If you had told me it was a bit of farce from the Daily Show it would have made more sense.
As an actual mcsame attack it's pretty pathetic. But then considering the source, what else would you expect?

[sarcasm]Don't you see? This add proves that John McCain is totally down with the youth... he can totally tell when something is Photoshopped![/sarcasm]

Need we anymore proof? John McCain, more irrelevant today than ever before.

Anybody out there that can photoshop, let's put together the same ad, only with this picture of McCain:

The ProfitMedia IS doing their job: They are protecting the financial interests of their stockholders, sponsors and execs by protecting their stooge, John McKeating. That's why they had Reagan dump the fairness regulation. The ProfitMedia sees a healthy democracy and regulation as a hinderence to their profiteering.

If we ever get our country back from this illegal, appointed "government" there are plenty of media anchors, "journalists" and execs who should be either imprisoned or deported.

I fear that if the ProfitMedia and it's allies cannot discredit Obama... I fear for Obama's safety.

Just a quick shout out to all the Republican minion who dip in the water here:

America is on to your insipid asshattery. Continued attempts to use outdated media manipulation techniques are not only futile in the face of an enlightened public, they are starting to humiliate NORMAL conservatives. Quick familiarization with the term Jumped the Shark might help in your understanding how foolish you all have become. Look it up. It's on The Google.

Enjoy.

There really is no depth the republicans will not go to.
It's sad that honesty and decency have no role to play in American politics.

Serious question:

What was the point of that ad, ostensibly? Obama didn't advocate putting his face on the $100 bill, etc.

Yet.

Olbermann needs to get a hold of this one!

For Senator McCain's team-its not jumping the shark, its jumping the squid!

Not to be a fly in the ointment or anything, but who made the ad? It says paid for by McCain but it doesn't have the candidates verbal endorsement at the end. I mean couldn't it have been made last night by anyone including a tricky Democrat?

Matt@19 What is McKeating doing with his left hand there / Never mind, I don't wanna know - did I mention that he's a war hero?

That's McGrampa's whole campaign against Obama: Nada.

McGrampa has nothing but sophomoric smears and lies. The ad lies from the very start. Obama never changed the presidential seal. Ever. That was his campaign seal. The McGrampa reich-wingers so pathetic and desperate. They have nothing...nada.

Well, that was a content-free ad. I.e., just what we've come to expect from the McSame crowd.

#11 haymaker,
status quObama voted to NOT allow Americans the ability to seek Justice should their privacy be violated by the U.S. Government by orders of ... him, if he becomes the next decider. Do not think this immunity stops when he becomes the decider.

1) There is no guarantee that there will be a Congress capable of rewriting and passing legislation to undo the Senate vote and the Bush signature sealing the TREASON.

2) There is no guarantee that if legislation is crafted that it won't be sabotaged by inserting amendments into it that will force Obama to VETO said legislation.

3) There is no guarantee that Obama won't just hang onto Unitary powers inherited by him through the current Administration, or to preserve his vote as a Senator.

4) Will Obama override the Law through a signing statement?

5) Or will the SCOTUS declare that the law, as written and approved by the Congress was unconstitutional? Thus making Obama's vote as a Senator, a vote against the Republic that grants to his presidency, dictatorial powers.

6) This CAN BE CLEANED UP during the current Administration through Impeachment. The President of the U.S.A. is required to pass legal bills. EX POST FACTO is NOT LEGAL... IMPEACH! And nullify the Bush signature.

Does Mr. Davis commute anytime through the dc metro at columbus circle?

cuz the escalators there are VERY VERY long and steep...and a person lose his balance...

a brief fit of acrophobia, perhaps?

y'never know...the lord works in mysterious ways, nest paw?

It is obvious that McCain has no plans for the American people other than starting new wars .
It is because of that McCain is trying to win the race by not offering anything other than attacking Obama personally.
I agree with Obama when he said that they are after him personally trying to paint him as unfit to be a president..
That's McCain's camp plan to win this race, since McCain strategists have no other plans for the American people.
All this talk by McCain's camp about Obama is behind high gasoline prices is laughable, just as it is laughable putting ad comparing Obama to B. Spears and Paris Hilton.
They are going to keep attacking Obama personally because they have nothing else to offer until election day
I hope the American people don't fall for this.
It worked for them against Kerry, and they are trying this time to make it work against Obama.

Just watched Heather someone on Andrea Mitchell's show. (don't remember the congresswoman's name) Heather kept repeating and repeating with a glassy look to her eyes that John McCain hasn't a racist bone in his body. She had memorized all the repug talking points and kept repeating them over and over. We'll see how many racist bones mcshame has. The more scared he gets the lower his standards are. He will make a big mistake soon and all hell will break loose. So far he has lied his way out of all the misspeaks but that will end too. He'll say something that he won't be able to lie his way out of. Why does the msm let him continue to lie and wiggle free? Do they actually want an old, senile, sick man as their president? Just can't believe that every one of the msm wants that.

This is how utterly ridiculous our country has become. The issue of who pulled the race card first and the fact that it looks like the election is shaping up to be dirty seems to be today's topic on MSNBC. Talk about the MSM stating the obvious. Race card??? Anyone with half a brain knows it was the GOP. That's why it's going to get dirty. The GOP is directly responsible for the sewer our country is in right now, how can they have an ice cube's chance in Hell at getting McBush elected? The Republicans are scared out of their sleazy and perverted minds. Unless the big fix is already written in stone, which I suspect is, Granpa is toast. It wouldn't surprise me if Obama looses the election and he will take it lying down just like Gore did in 2000 and Kerry in 2004 because that is the way the true Masters of this country want it. MSNBC also showed some poll where McBush and Obama are tied in popularity. Bullshit....don't believe it. If you ask me Obama has this race in his back pocket. If he looses then we will know without a doubt something is terribly wrong.

To quote a great American;

Is this honestly all they really have, it this the best Karl Roves underlings can do?

Come on guys, Lee Atwater would have fired you guys, and Bush would have lost if you were running his campaigns

Oh

Right

That diebold thingy and of course Katherine Harris.

Keep it up and you will be the example of how NOT to run a campaign for dog catcher, let alone national office.

Bob Dole didn't even have this level of incompetence or cognitive dissonance.

And here we are... In high school once again...

Another new attack ad from Grampa McCain.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mopkn0lPzM8

Be sure to rate it one star.

Not to be a fly in the ointment or anything, but who made the ad? It says paid for by McCain but it doesn't have the candidates verbal endorsement at the end. I mean couldn't it have been made last night by anyone including a tricky Democrat?

I was wondering the same thing?

I looked through McCain's website and couldn't find this ad anywhere. If this is the real-deal, it will be a great swipe at McC's agenda. Anybody have more info on this ad?

how did the video make fun of how Obama LOOKS? Obviously it didn't - nor could I see how it was implied.

And of course they've copied a phrase out of the Hillary campaign book: "Change you can Xerox" to "Change you can make in Photoshop". I don't think they can appreciate the irony.

One thing McKeating ( I like that ) does have is way to many votes , and thats not nada .

Maeric @ 37:

Most ads tell, at the end, who or what group is responsible for their content. MoveOn always identifies their organization at the end of their ads, as do other 527 groups.

What a bunch of sick BASTURDS McCain and his minions are!

McStain must be so campaign money poor he can't afford a truthful ad...McStupid can only afford lying ads, at least the 23/percenters will believe his lies.

What's next, claiming he has a melanoma on his face that looks like Obama?

[Deleted. Off topic, flame bait-Sitemonitor]

So when's mccain gonna put up the campaign posters that say:

"SEX"

Now that I got your attention...

?

PHOTO EDITING ALERT!

The photoshop job of Obama on the dollar bill - the whites of his eyes were significantly lightened. If you want to cause someone's skin to appear darker, you can go about it several ways - you can darken their skin (obviously). You can also lighten all the other areas around the skin (whites of eyes, clothing, background, etc.). That is what was done here.

tweety was one of the first to note obama's first name -- 'hussein' and how unusual it was. and then his good buddy, ed rodgers, picked it up.

ysbaddaden @ 47:

Obama 51 mccain 44

Obama hitting the 50% mark. What a great "trend".

Wow. That was, by far, the most retarded political campaign ad I have ever witnessed in my 30 years on earth.

Wow. The stupid is dripping all over the floor. Wow.

"This dagnabit fancy smancy photoshop thingamagiger. Now if I could only gobble my name on the series of tubes..."
-John McCain

The ad is stupid and asinine. You say it's on McCain's website? Must be trolling for like-minded people.

Also, McCain just reminded us who's face we do not want to see on our currency. His.

OMG, that's is the silliest, childish attack ever. This guys are really scraping bottom. Grade school children are running this campaign now. Not much material to work with in the smear campaign I guess. Karl Rove can't even help them now.

Considering that the ad would make absolutely no sense otherwise, it has to be about showing people what it would look like if we had a black guy's face on our national monuments. "Are you sure you want this? HE'S BLACK!!!' Then again, I may be underestimating the incompetence of the McCain campaign staff.

OMG!!!!!
Check this out! I can't believe it was a McCain ad and not a prank!
This time he's got Charlton Heston in it!

One commenter said McCain's campaign sent out a blast email for people to rate it up to cover for the dismal Paris/Britney ad.

jesus christ that ad was straight out of Idiocracy.

"what ELSE is he gonna do? hmmm?? mmmmaaaaayyy-be... put his face on Mount Rushmore?? hhhmmmm...??"

that ad appeals to the absolute lowest common denominator. that ad is just stupid.

there are commercials that appeal to people (next generation) and there are commercials that belittle people (old generation). this commercial, belittles people. this is made by the same people who make those "GOSH! I just can't figure out how to open my bottle of pills!" type commercials.

this ad was made by someone who assumes most Americans are stupid. what a sad, played out 70's / 80's view of the world.

All of you keep missing Mr. Forest and blaming the campaign trees of your choice. ABC news started this whole "race card" fire yesterday when Jake Tapper took a joke line Obama was using, juxtaposed it ala CBS News into remarks directly asked about McCain's commerical and pronbounced that Obama "SEEMED" to be implying racism on McCain's part. The all hell broke loose with everyone trying to blame everyone else except the kid with the matches.

The kid with the matches is named Jake Tapper. He works for the Disneyland News Channel. Check the timelines on this whole controversy and you will have all the forensic evidence you need.

Country is ridiculous indeed, but highly entertaining in that "faces of death" videos sort of way, i'm beginning to wonder if the government is even going to make it to the election before utterly collapsing our society into chaos. But specifically i think the events of the last couple days highlight a few things:
- The meaning & use of the term "race card", can you think of any incident when it was first a black guy accusing a white guy of "playing the race card"? Because i can't. It has something to do with discovering that the past is connected to the present & the past is packed full of racial subjugation. Some one (sometimes they're black, sometimes not) points out that the topic being discussed can be seen in the light of that complicated history, this act of historical observation is "playing the race card".
- This term is patently racist itself. We are all adults dealing with matters of national importance, but when that history of oppression rears its head we stop conducting serious business & start playing games (how about next time they felt the urge to accuse someone of "playing the race card" they just came out and said what they really meant: "back to the cotton field with you, BOY").
- Yeah, you're reading a rant from a young white male radical. moving on...
- I've been a monitor of cable news for years now & it's amazing how often i've heard that "the people" want them to cover "the issues" & not "the horse race" heard it today on CNN, they then showed a minute of Obama's economic town hall (where he was talking about the economic "issues") & then cut to the next story after noting "we'll return to that if he makes any response to the latest move by the McCain campaign). It really was some beautiful theater of the absurd action.

Change you can photoshop? Change you can Xerox? Once again, we see more corporate pandering. As funny (in the courtesy laugh sense) as it was, it still proves that McSame is looking up at Obama.

In the words of Shaq, how does his ass taste?

Wow, this ad is dumb as hell. Twelve year old girls are running his campaign.

I really think McGrampa accidentally hired some Democrats to make his ads.

I'm so glad his campaign staff are utterly incompetent.

If you point out to ABC exactly how they started this "race card" flap, and are critical of the network, they will delete you quickly. If you post a bunch of racist gibberish about Obama or McCain they will leave it up.

Hoever, they are not smart enough to recognize snark, so they left this apt critique running for a while:

"ABC deserves all the credit for this turn of events and you should trumpet how you broke the news. The key phrase is this article is : "The strong words from the McCain campaign came after Obama seemed to suggest during a couple of campaign stops in Missouri on Wednesday that the GOP was preparing to make an issue of his Muslim middle name and race, which turned some McCain insiders livid." Now, who was it that interpreted what anyone who watches the footage of Obama can see is a good natured joke about his "not looking like the Presidents on the dollar bills," into "seemed to suggest" that the "GOP was Preparing" to make race an issue? Why ABC News in their blogs and on line articles starting yesterday morning before McCain's campaign even reacted. SEEMED TO SUGGEST. Search the coverage yesterday and I think you will find this suggestion started with this network. You should be proud of your role and claim credit."

hey why don't you guys mail this stuff to the major networks. how come drudge can give the wacko talking heads stuff and liberal blogs don't?

I think that evidence can also be seen in the fact that the Texas Republican Convention was handing out buttons saying "If Obama is President, Will We Still Call It The White House"...

link

I wonder if Sean (i lick bush balls) Hannity will parrot his talking point of yesterday with the pic of Obama on money. DO these guys hoist themselves on their own petard DAILY ??

I cannot wait until the debates when John McBush is parroting talking points while obama is giving real solututions to real issues.

I can't believe this video isn't on the top of the main page of every left-leaning blog ALL DAY today, just to prove the point that McCain ACTUALLY DID make fun of what Obama would look like on US currency. WHY can't Dems coordinate strategy about these kinds of things - EVER?

That was really bad and really corny. The Angry Old Man can't run on the GOP record of death, debt, destruction, recession, foreclosures, gas prices, record oil company profits, joblessness, depleted military and national guard, trampled consttution and America being isolated in the world so he and the Karl Rove Crew have to try to fear and smear their way into the Oval Office. It worked the last 2 election cycles (with the help of an anti-democratic Republican Supreme Court) remains to be seen if it will work again.

This was a stupid ad and McCrazy is a horrible candidate but surprisingly the polls have them very close. Only close elections can be stolen and when it is we all need to remember that our Democrats in Congress did not attempt to fix or even make much noise about the voting problems this country has faced since 2000.

Now as far as the race card, I don't think the Obama campaign can complain too much. It may just be Karma coming back to take a bite. David Axelrod knew when it came down to Obama vs Clinton the only way to win that battle was to destroy the Clintons and it was the Obama camp with the cooperation of the media that played the race card and successfully portrayed both Hillary and Bill as racist. Obama has not been above using his race to his advantage and too many of his supporters have been willing to paint everyone who disagrees with him on any issue as racist. This has been very disturbing to me as a life-long Democrat and Civil Rights activist for the past 40+ years. OK - I'm crawling under my desk now - give me a minute, arthur is acting up today - OK ready - let the bombs fly.

The republicans are just playing the dozens. They have nothing but bush politics to offer so they just insult obama and talk about a lot of stupid stuff that has nothing to do with running this country. This is the sickest campaign I'VE ever seen. Next they will be talking about OBAMA'S MAMA.

They are counting on the southern redneck not to catch on. Hopefully, someone will pick this ad up in the main media.

See? This is what happens when you get your campaign staff off Craig's List. These are seriously juvenile ads. Obama needs to hit back hard but with grace, maturity, and good humor.

That is the most ridiculous political ad I have ever seen. It's not funny, not factual, and doesn't speak to any of the concerns that are on the minds of the electorate. It's a complete waste of money.

The message is Obama = Change, McCain = Status Quo and Ignorant Ploy at Comedy.

His media consultants should be fired.

I'd LOVE to have him on the hundred dollar bill! Let's go!
Obama 08!

"At the very moment that America needs a serious dialogue about our most dire issues, the only thing McCain can seem to talk about is Barack Obama."

Someone in his campaign needs to pull a James Carville and hang an "It's The Economy, Stupid!" sign all over his headquarters, because, at this point, he has no message other than some whining "Barack Obama is bad" garbage. He doesn't understand that the Right Wing smear is not going to resonate with anyone this year. But, observe closely...this is all they know to do. When they have nothing, not one position that persuades voters to move to their side, the only option is to attack the other candidate, ad hominem.

McCain is playing a dirty campaign, which is weird coz he knows how it hurts those around the candidate since he's been through it himself, had his family come out of the wringer. He promised to play a clean match, why doesn't he do that? Obama's come out much better with his dignified campaign. Support Obama, visit WhyOBAMA08.ORG

The media is going frenzy over what they call 'Race Crad'...
Republicans and pundits are accusing Obama of playing the 'Race Card'
but Which race?
Obama is the only candidate that cannot play the race card if he wanted to...why?
Because he has a white mother and a black father.
Why the media don't cover this big false story by stating the fact that Obama cannot play the race card..period...
May be McCain can...but not Obama.
I'm tired of this nonsense about playing the 'race card', because it is a big lie.

Tim Fuller @ 3:

McCain wouldn't know Photoshop if it bit him in the ass.

Enjoy.

Oh yeah! Mutually assured photoshopping: http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/10/in-an-iranian-image-a-missil...

Was he grabbin' bush's package? Hell, you can have my guns...

Hey C&R. How about some info. When was this first made available? That would matter.

Nope. I don't see it. I don't think they were making fun of the way he looks. I think they were trying to say he was egotistical or narcissistic.

"Count me down as somebody"

Where's this guy Ed Rogers from? Obviously not America. And American would have used American phraseology such as "put me down as somebody" or "count me as somebody". "count me down as somebody" just isn't American at all. Sounds Israeli.

They accused Obama of creating "change you can make in photoshop," but the McCain campaign was the one making the photoshop changes. We are starting to see an extensive list of things McCain accuses Obama of doing, but actually it is Rick Davis who is doing them. Where is this campaign going? Nowhere good.

barack obama looks to have a keen sense of humor and a keener sense of the absurd. and he seems to work hard to bring the citizens of this country back to a sense of what's important-the serious issues we face as a nation as we try to find a way to move forward, post-bush and neocon disasters. i am glad obama knows how absurd mccain has been and can move around him and his knuckleheaded surrogates like they're standing still.

Of course McCain is racist! He said he will always hate the g**ks due to his captivity. Are we at a point in a American racial politics where only attacks on Black Americans are considered racist? Or where we are allowed to be racially insensitive towards anyone we were at war with? Will Bush say he hates Gerry, too, for what they did to his pop in WWII?

And if he's willing to "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran..." and hopes that cigarettes are one way to "kill them," isn't that a hint that he's a bit racist? He's willing to kill Iranian/Persian citizens?

Not to mention the obvious racism in his voting against a holiday for Dr. King.

Not to mention the sexism inherent in his gorilla joke.

While I can see the slow shifting of the media's coverage of McCain as a maverick, and slow turn towards seeing him as what he is, a political dinosaur, a relic of a bygone, pre-Interweb age, we'll see if anyone picks up these issues and connects the dots.

Oh yeah... Plus Obama said the the GOP, not McCain specifically.

The GOP who's South Carolina state senator put up the Obama-Osama B.S. post on his blog. Fear.

The GOP who keeps trumpeting Obama's name (they never call him Ronald "WIIILLSSSSOOOOOOON" Reagon, or Warren "GAMMEEEEEEEELLLLIAL" Harding, or Dwight "DAAAAAAAAVVIIIIIIIID" Eisenhower. Yet Obama's middle name is always an issue. A hypothetical dollar to any of these GOP hacks who could even tell me Jimmy Carter's middle name. Shoot. Washington, Lincoln and Truman didn't even have middle names! Was that an issue? Different.

The conservatives who keep trumpeting a young Black presidential as presumptuous for his seemingly "acting" presidential. However, where were their voices when W. Bush was calling himself the president during the recount? You could see it as racist. I kinda do. Even at its least sinister, it's definitely quite partisan.

LOL! Crooks and Liars debunked yet AGAIN!

ABC News: "Obama Concedes Racial Dimension to 'Dollar Bill' Comments"

"I don’t think it’s accurate to say that my comments have nothing to do with race," Obama said.

As I hear it the Mcain bunch are sayin "Obams started it by sayin he didn't look like the other guys on the dollar bills " but if this ad came out BEFORE that then.....

does anybody know when it came out?
