Joe Klein is pissed. And rightfully so.
By SilentPatriot Wednesday Sep 03, 2008 11:45amJoe Klein unloads on the McCain campaign for getting testy with the press for having the audacity to do their job.
The second thing is more insidious: Steve Schmidt has decided, for tactical reasons, to slime the press. He wants the public to believe that there is an unfair--sexist (you gotta love it)--personal assault going on against Palin and her family. This is a smokescreen, intended to divert attention from the very real and responsible vetting that is taking place in the media--about the substance of Palin's record as mayor and governor.
There is a tendency in the media to kick ourselves, cringe and withdraw, when we are criticized. But I hope my colleagues stand strong in this case: it is important for the public to know that Palin raised taxes as governor, supported the Bridge to Nowhere before she opposed it, pursued pork-barrel projects as mayor, tried to ban books at the local library and thinks the war in Iraq is "a task from God." The attempts by the McCain campaign to bully us into not reporting such things are not only stupidly aggressive, but unprofessional in the extreme.
The Politico's Roger Simon joins him:
On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.
We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.
We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?
We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?
Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.
It is not our job to ask questions. Or it shouldn't be. To hear from the pols at the Republican National Convention this week, our job is to endorse and support the decisions of the pols.

Unprofessional?
Try again, Joe. It is UNAMERICAN.
Finally.
The press is starting to get it.
No matter how nice you are, and how much you kiss up the Republicans and no matter how much you cover for their mistakes and lies, THEY DON'T LIKE YOU.
They will make the media the scapegoat and the reason for all their problems.
Iraq War? Media's fault.
Bush's unpopularity? Media's fault.
Palin's lack of qualifications? Media's fault.
McCain's lack of substance? Media's fault.
It's time to wise up guys. They will blame you for everything as long as you let them.
I think the pressing is wising up the fact they are going to be attack by the reichwing as being the "librul media" whether they do their jobs or not. Might as well do there jobs.
"Fourth, we should stop making with all the questions already. She gave a really good speech. And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul."
I think this is the best line.
Don't beat up on the old man POW or the cute little lady. Two bullies crying to the media....bullshit.
The dam media is getting so mavericky !
Go Joe Klein
http://www.muzzlewatch.com/
Greenwald: All attack dogs on Joe Klein for saying “divided loyalty”
Nope. Don't believe it. The media will fall into line. They have their marching orders: support the party that will allow more media consolidation.
Follow the money.
Can you blame the Republiscums, they've had a 7 year run of a totally compliant press. Now, all of a sudden, the librul media is back. It must be very upsetting.
How long will it be before Joe is declared unpatriotic?
Off Topic, OMG! Hasselback is speaking at the Conevetion right now. HA! That broad is an idiot. It's on C-Span.
P.D. @ 11:
I'm so glad I am stuck at work. That bitch would have to improve to be stupid.
Is Joe Klein the reporter from the fictional novels that Stephen Colbert referred to in his 2006 Press Dinner performance?
Maybe..
Ya know what?? Personally, I don't give a fuck if Sarah Palins kid is pregnant.. I really wouldn't give a shit if Sarah herself was pregnant...
But this bit about the press being mean and unfair??? What a freakin crock! IT IS REPUBLICANS who started this using the media to manipulate and/or smear thru innuendo and using second level political flunkies to spread bullshit in order to keep the candidates 'hands clean' and using the media as vehicle for this crap... And these fuckers started this shit YEARS ago, DECADES ago.... So I am already sick and tired of the repukes and their pathetic 'stop picking on us' bullshit!!!!
If you people didn't want the press and public crawling all over Sarah Palins past, then maaaybe you fucks should have picked someone who didn't have a knocked up teen after professing support for abstinence only education, and maybe you should have picked someone who didn't have a record of trying to ban books at libraries or using her local political clout to push people around... Maybe you should have picked someone who didn't back Ted Stevens stupid pork barrel bullshit before she backed away from it. In other words, you people made this bed... NOW LAY IN IT!!!!! JD
Go get them Joe and Roger. You guys along with Keith O., Rachel M. even Chris M. are starting to hold the McCain feet to the fire. Burn their ass.
It has to go a lot further than this!
I can't believe that after all of the partisan bullsh!t from the Bush years I had actually thought John McCain's pledge to run an 'honorable campaign and give the American people a debate about the issues' was sincere. The speech of his vp last night has confirmed the man has no honor. I really can't believe this is where the American conversations is going.
And sadly, I don't know if the public saw through that display of disregard of facts, baseless and unnecessary attacks. From the party that suggests there is nothing wrong with the life's realities for most Americans, I guess I was the fool for thinking...
If you believe the government isn't responsible for solving your problems, then don't you agree that government shouldn't be allowed to cause them?
Sorry, I am pissed too, and this is a bit off topic.....but I am really pissed at the tactics these repugs are using and the hypocrisy they show:
1. It's the libural media's fault.
2. All remarks about Palin are "sexist" or "elitist".....somebody, please, tell me what the hell "elites" are. Bush addressed some very wealthy at a dinner a few years ago and made the infamous remark, "Some may call you the elite. I call you my base."
I won't even go into the lies here.
But I will post the following, something I put on another post....sorry for the repetition, but I am just really pissed at these repugs:
Last night, “The One” made reference to Obama’s off the record remarks about people with “guns and religion.”
She did not make reference to the fact that she sat back and not only said nothing, but also laughed and cackled at those radio jocks who made fun of Lyda Green (Alaskan Republican state representative) about her being a “cancer” and a “bitch.” Lyda Green is a cancer survivor. Those jocks also made fun of Lyda Green’s weight.
Again, Palin laughed and did not criticize those radio jocks. Her excuse, a few days later, is that she was “caught off guard.”
What the hell she going to do if she is “caught off guard” in a national emergency???, never mind the fact that she is a callous human being. Do we really want people like Rush Limbaugh in high positions in our government?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/.....22776.html
Left@12, I used to think it was an act. But she proved me wrong. Way to advertise Repugs! Put up a dumb blonde to appeal to all those working woman.
P.D. @ 11:
Yes it was refreshing to watch the View this morning because she wasn't on it. Monday the other 3 almost couldn't get an word in. Barbara had to tell her a couple of times to calm down.
Did you watch that ahole Wolf Blizer last night gush about Palin's speech? He said she hit it out of the park and she's Americas Lady now! What the F does that mean? The MSM is doing the dirty work for McCain and the hillbillies that vote Republicon are falling for it again. Why is McCain so afraid to allow Palin to take questions, not from Fox, who will only ask her "How is it like being a Hockey Mom"? and What breakfast do you serve your family on a typical sunday morning? etc.
She got up and spewed BS lies last night and will not be questioned on it. The McCain campaign people, mostly former scum Bush staffers, are using the old Nixon-Agnew tactic where you balame the media for picking on poor Sarah and then the stupid corporate media backs off in fear. I hope to God this doesn't work in 2008, but we have such a stupid voting public, that I'm not too confident!
ChrisM70 @ 2:
Doesn't Joe Klein get it?
The job of a journalist is to sniff the asses of the GOP, eat their table scraps, so that he or she can have access to the "insiders" and be invited to the WH dinner parties, trips on Air Force One and family barbecues.
Then, once he or she has sufficiently prostituted themselves...they can move into the cushy WH Press Corp or even...*ooooh shuddder*...become a weekend cable anchor.
watching chris mathews try to grill a couple of hacks on his show just brought home how useless our media is. By the end of it, he's basically professing his love for the hawtie and saying he'll probably love her.
What a joke. Just report the facts. Go to Alaska and talk to the people who she screwed over and find out what troopergate is about. How hard is this?
Wait, isn't Hasselback and Clay walker (gasp) CELEBRITIES?
I thought Republicans hated celebrities and their arugula-eating ways?
What about frgn' Hannity??? That SOB lies all of the time.
It has been shown in detail that Obama's tax plan will help most people.....it will help those making under $250,000.
The other day, while discussing the Palin baby issue with Mary Matalin, Hannity claimed he didn't remember any attacks on Chelsea Clinton. And then, he attempted to cut off Mary Matalin when she was attempting to say that Obama did declare family to be off limits.
These people really, really piss me off.

SouthernYankee @ 15:
I know I will get an argument. But Matthews has been holding the Bush administrations and the need to go to war "based on a pack of lies" feet to the fire as soon as Matthews he was duped along with the rest of the MSM. He began to hammer hard just after the invasion (was not watching him closely enough before the invasion) but after he would have Bill Kristol , David Frum John Bolton etc and hammer hard I mean hard. He was also the first to bring on returning Iraqi soldiers and broadcast shows from Walter Reed Hospital. What ever you want to say about Matthews (he does piss me off and he is supposed to) A good new person tries to play all sides. But I have watched his show closely for five years and he is seething underneath he hates that the Bush administration has gotten away with this death and destruction and have not been held ACCOUNTABLE.
Southern@19, Hasselbeck is the reason I won't watch The View. I don't like getting lectured by a right-wing Rich Bitch.
P.D. @ 18:
Listen my friend. Not all people that don't have a college degree are dumb. I live in a rural area. I have travelled all over the states and lived in europe and even Asia. I only have a high school degree. Am 60 yrs old and lived a time to know when I am being lied to. Working women are not dumb. They know how hard it is to make a living and are not fooled by this bimbo.
For two Republicans to run as reform and change candidates after 8 years of Republican rule is the equivalent of putting lipstick on a pitbull.
-GSD
"It is not our job to ask questions. Or it shouldn’t be. To hear from the pols at the Republican National Convention this week, our job is to endorse and support the decisions of the pols.", Simon said this?
I guess he, and his ilk just kept that same sentiment as THE SECRET PRINCIPLE of journalism back in early 2003.
Too late, too weak, and too bad for the country, if you ask me.
The press has been bullied by the republicans for 8 long years into not reporting the inconvenient truth. Why are they suddenly so pissed? I'm glad they finally have grown some rudimentary testicles, but WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU ASSHOLES FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS?!?!?!?!?
Thanks for the fucked up world that your laziness and Republican dick-sucking has left us with.
Is that the kind a speech a Christian delivers in front of her young children. I get that they may not follow the discourse, but the outright lies she told, understanding it's her job is a lesson not missed by children - Lie to get what you want!
Though I guess she is all talk, the message about purity and abstinence until marriage wasn't all that convincing.
It is about time!!! First time in almost 10 years the press has gotten backbone. Bush silenced them from the very time he announced his presidency. They have been slammed, rightfully so, for NOT asking questions. McCain thinks he can do the same and got smacked in the face.
Americans are tired of reading Republican talking points. I want facts, no matter where the chips fall, just print the OBJECTIVE facts and let me make my own decision. There in lies the problems with the Republicans, the only way they can survive is to "dumb down" the citizens.
There is NO reform in McCain or Palin, it is the same old politics repackaged.
Liberal AND Proud @ 22:
And if he or she REALLY works hard...they'll put on 175 lbs...become addicted to prescription drugs...go into syndication...and be able to vacation in exotic places to have sex with children.
Kathleen @ 26:
Well you have a point. But sometimes he can be fair and balanced. If I am not mistake I think he really likes Obama. He said that his speech sends a cold chill up his leg.
The press has been the republicans Remote Control for the past eight years.
If the remote isn't working, what do you do? You may eventually have to change the batteries (strategies), but at first your going to bang it around - it usually works, No?
Sex, Lies & Scandal = Republican party.
Murder, Theft & Genocide = Republican party.
Fascists, Dominionists & Bigots = Republican party.
Kinda makes ya feel warm all over, doesn't it?
It is immoral to point out that Bristol and Levi are the victims of one of Sarah Palin's (and the Republican Party's) most bone-headed, short sighted unrealistic "programs."
Abstinence only sex "education."
I mean, WTF??
Some teenage boy is going to forswear hot, steamy naked sex with the girl from English class because you gave him a purity bracelet???
Y'know, maybe if someone told these children that propholactics weren't shameful - these kids might have a bright future.
But - nooooo! We've got a bleepin' ideology Who cares about REALITY?
This should make any sane, reasonable person sick.
GSD @ 29:
They ARE the right agents of change.
When McCain needs one...after 5 kids Palin is certainly qualified for the job.
So, the "Straight talk express" has decided to target the "media" for bias. Nice strategy if you have nothing else to run on.
Come to think of it...
"... let's review the rules. Here's how it works. The President makes decisions. He's the decider. The press secretary announces those decisions, and you people of the press type those decisions down. Make, announce, type. Just put 'em through a spell check and go home. Get to know your family again. Make love to your wife. Write that novel you got kicking around in your head. You know, the one about the intrepid Washington reporter with the courage to stand up to the administration? You know, fiction!"
Wha? You mean Joe Klein woke up? Sorry, buddy, you're a bit late.
Tell ya what, if you keep up this shit for the next 10 years, I'll consider reading what you have to say. Let's just say, for reality's sake, that I am not holding my breath. Soon enough, Joe'll be answering to his corporate masters again.
Southern@28, I think you misunderstood me. Of course working women are smarter than that. That's the point. Hasselbeck doesn't speak for them. I am also a high school graduate with no college degree. But I never traveled the world. My biggest regret.
TBone @ 16:
This is a revelation many Americans are finally coming to! Welcome to the world.
Isn't it amusing to see how sharply McPOW has turned on his proclaimed "base", the MSM? They have coddled and propped him up for months, if not years. They have shielded and defended him from any questions of his abilities and heroic claims, they were his barbecue buddies who, in his view, should continue to carry water for him and continue to paint the "maverick" falsehood, a task which they have so dutifully executed up to now. Now, they have fallen out of line and have actually begun to "look under the hood", so to speak, of this Palin woman, and for this they have engendered the wrath of not only Master McPOW himself, but his legion of lemmings in the Grand OLD Party (a party with no NEW ideas, just more of the same bullshit). Let's hope that there at least a few remaining real "journalists" who will somehow seek to regain their dignity and actually go out and do the job that the country expects them to do, by getting to the bottom of this Palin charade.
You know McCain is in trouble if Politico is turning on him.
TBone @ 36:
The media has been a tool for the GOP because Rush, Druddge, Savage, O'reilly and Hannity have labeled them as far left. That scarey label has caused them to become far right. It's about time for the media to become what they are supposed to be, the 4th estate and report the news. The above mentioned are going to label them far left anyway.
I guess McCain gets to become the BBQ Nazi for the media.
"NO RIBS FOR YOU!!!"
In England, pissed means drunk.
Here in America it's what you do after you drank too much.
Tony @ 4:
"True windows to the soul"???????????? Yeah - right!
I just hope the press does not get cowed or coerced into thinking that maybe they should back off from asking the GOP pertinent questions ...
We really need their help...
Now more than ever...
Dow down 266 points.
That goddamn liberal media! Campbell Brown?
Are you sure Roger Simon's being sarcastic there? I could buy it as a sincereapology from most of the media hacks working today.

Ron @ 47:
All these people you mentioned are traitors.
They need to be tried for treason after Obama gets in.
GonzoD@53, How long do you think McCain can boycott CNN? I guess he should ignore all the networks except Faux News. They will throw their arms around him.
I suppose they were just hoping that Rip Van Winkle (MSM) would keep sleeping.
Guys, in this instance, some of you are doing a good job now. Where have you been for the last 8 years? Don't pat yourselves on the back too much. You don't deserve it.

Mick Piobr @ 38:
And now Levi's future is crap. He's at the age where he wants to bag as many girls as he can, instead he's having the very real concept of marriage forced down his throat whether he likes it or not. He's owned by the machine now.
Ron@61, Who? Faux or Cnn. I think they both suck.
Odd isn't it. Hillary Clinton was accused of being shrill and whiny and we assumed that they were being sexist by ascribing those qualities to a woman. Now with the Republicans it's the dude at the top of the ticket being shrill and whiny. (Palin's just shrill). What would Alanis Morrisette say?
Peter@65, I swear MSM thinks were stupid. Even Jon Stewart had clips of the hypocrisy. I can't wait for November. My head is swimming.
Attempts by the reslugs to bully reporters into not reporting are pretty much standard operating procedure. Is he joking? They've been bullying, harassing and threatening reporters for years now. Suddenly it's a problem?
I guess now that chimpy mclameduck is finally on the way out some few have regained a little of that former spinal fortitude.
Let's hope it continues to grow and spread and the populace puts these reslugs back under the rocks they slithered out from.

"It is not our job to ask questions. Or it shouldn’t be. To hear from the pols at the Republican National Convention this week, our job is to endorse and support the decisions of the pols."
I wonder where the GOP ever got that idea? Maybe from the feckless press's pattern and practice these last 8 years? Since this has largely been the MO for most of the press during Bush's reign, can we really blame the GOP for being angry at the press's sudden willingness to do its job?
I'm very much liking the new Joe Klein, but even so, give me a break:
"There is a tendency in the media to kick ourselves, cringe and withdraw, when we are criticized."
...provided the criticism comes from right-wingers. If liberals dare to do the same, they're smeared as "whiners".

CNN's Campbell Brown Senor slammed the dazed and confused McPOW spokesperson Tucker Bounds Tuesday cornering him to justify the affirmative action pick of Palin for VP. Grandpa's people vehemently criticized CNN and Brown for being unfair and McLiar canceled an appearance on Larry King as punishment to CNN. Yesterday Senate Majority leader Harry Reid called Palin's speech "shrill". Brown jumped on Reid's comments as "misogynist". I said to myself that the GOP 'got to Brown'. Except for people like Olberman, Maddow, Malloy and a few others, most of the MSM are just cheap whores who cannot be trusted.

I really need a nutjob like Sarah Palin to tell me how yo run my life...
I'm sure Gary Hart can tell you what a good idea it is to dare the press to dig up the dirt. Palin is the perfect storm of stupidity and arrogance, just like her jack-booted alphas in the GOP. McCain's been given a pass for it too many times, but the "Get out of $#!+ free" cards may be running out at last. Too little, but maybe--maybe--not too late.
Fair is fair. Give Palin as much grief as they have given Hillary for the last 16 years. Maybe then the Republicans can start whining.
They - the media - don't ask the right questions.
McCain has plainly stated that the responsibility of the VP is to break tied votes in the Senate and to inqire about the jealth of the president.
What journalist has questioned her on those qualifications? Does she know how to cast a vote in the Senate? Can she determine whether the president is healthy or does she need to hire a doctor, in whichcase there would be no need for her at all.
The Druggy Report carries the "Politico - We are sorry" headline, without mentioning that it's sacarasm.
Why not slime the press? It's not as if they don't deserve it. But they will still happily take you advertising money and support you for supporting them.
Slime is the Republican Strategy, policy and agenda. Doesn't matter who it is, just slime 'em. After all, it's only talk - it's the money that is important. It's not what you say but who you pay.
I am so pissed at this media bullstuff.
Im watching msnbc and Andrea Mitchell just said that when sarah was talking about "the media elite" that she was talking about the internet. These people are spineless and they should not let the mccain people do this god forbed this was obama.I do have a problem with left wing internet today nobody is hitting her hard step up this is so not cool. Were just being dems letting them hit us we do nothing, not anymore we need to get fired up.I say get Mrs.clinton and let her bring fire to her ass.
Dear Joe,

What I noticed about her speech was how Palin managed to avoid giving her opinion on key issues of importance to her base, namely: abortion, gun rights, and same-sex marriage, global warming and endangered species.
Those topics are what the media should be asking her about so that we can explicitly get her on record as being very vocal about them in order to alienate any former Clinton women who are delusional enough to even think about voting for her. AND, I think that mainstream media needs to elicit quotes from her in the strongest possible way by goading her to show her pit-bull style.
For example:
In your very effective and highly praised speech at the RNC, you made it clear that you have opinions and you aren't afraid to express them. With only XX number of days until the election, many Americans are looking at the McCain-Palin ticket more seriously and many of them want to know your position on some key issues. That said, I'd like to list some topics and I'd like to know your position on each: a woman's rights with regard to abortion, gun control, same-sex marriage, etc.
limbaugh and co do most of the intimidation and they get away with it because the people who they attack the most never hear it. they attribute the feedback and threats to some genuine public sentiment as opposed to a small bunch of dittoheads frothing at the mouth via fax email and phone anytime limbaugh and co mention a name.
They've given the Bushies a pass for the last 8 years, and now that McSame is angry over some real questions are being asked, the lap-dog media is mad?
This reminds me of the "we may suck a little, but they suck a lot" argument.
If the media doesn't stop being spineless and start exposing political lies immediately, we will become another Nazi Germany. ENOUGH of the media's opinions, we just want the truth. Is that so hard?
I applaud those members of the press who have decided that's it's time for them to rouse themselves from their Rip Van Winkle routine. You guys are supposed to be journalists and have instead been sleeping for the last 20+ years, the overwhelming majority of you only rousing yourselves to carry warer for, and propagandize on behalf of, despots and criminals. You've been used and punked and are complicit with everything that has gone wrong, and now, you're indignant?
Hey, Joe Klein, the ultimate honor a journalist can receive is to be scorned for scrupulously telling the truth. Suck it up, lad, and learn to love it. It's the only feedback that has any value.
Way to go, figuring out which way the wind's blowing.
However, since Klein is one of the original kool-aid drinkers, I'll take his comments with a grain of salt.

Interesting tactic by the Republicans - complaining about the media looking for "facts" about Sarah Palin rather than just relying on their own press releases.
The woman is snarky - Sarah Barracuda - really? And what about the little photo of her in those slutty clothes with a glass of wine at hand. Snarky and slutty - yup, that is what I would choose if I were a blinded idiot.
Bad, bad media - doing it's job rather than sucking up to McCain/Palin.
This is ridiculous - the media needs to do its job and do it now. We all need to hear everything - and I mean everything - about the person John McCain has chosen as his running mate and we need to hear it now before every idiot in the country gets sucked in by the fiction.
I don't have a lot of faith in my fellow Americans to not fall into that same old trap they did in 2000 and 2004. I know how much you want to believe everything will be OK. But it's not - and it won't be if you don't do a little independent thinking.
Tony @ 4:
Uhh.... FYI.... its already been reported that Palin's speech was written by President Bush's speech writer. All Palin did was read the speech. There are also teleprompters for them to read off of.
I think this is the perfect time for anyone in the media too stand up and have the courage to be the next Bob Woodward and/or Carl Bernstein and pull the covers off these travesties and half truths and manipulations and lay out ALL the FACTS....both Democrats and Republican and let the veiwers and voters decide....is there anyone out there who has the cajones to do this very important and very patriotic work ??????????????
The BS HAS TO STOP AND THE TRUTH MUST BE TOLD
Joe, please don't be pissed. It breaks my heart to see you upset because you and other media experts have been, gasp, criticized. [Deleted. Inaccurate, flame bait-Sitemonitor]Soon, one hopes, the campaign will get back down to real issues and who is best equipped to lead this Nation.

Great sentiments Jennifer Smith. Agree wholeheartedly.
Look, Klein and other reporters, who don't like Bush et al, have a perfect right to ask any question(s) they wish, but why all the whining when they are targeted for being for being one sided. [Deleted. Off topic-Sitemonitor]
oops, scratch one "for being."

below is from a Congressional report. It shows how well the present administration supports our troops. Our vets pull out their own teeth because they can't get dental care. We deploy them over and over again. We're going to have more PTSD patients than any system can handle. The people in power DO NOT care. It is Viet Nam all over again. And the media hasn't held their feet to the fire.
I find that the most refreshing reporting comes from the "fake news" Daily Show---Jon Stewart asking Mike Huckabee, "Now let me get this right...the only ones that can fix the mess we're in are the Republicans that did this over the past 8 years?"
"On June 13th, as the House of Representatives was considering the Military Construction and Veterans appropriations bill, the White House sent over a letter to say planned increases for veterans were “excessive.” [SAP 6/13/07]
In August, the President directed his Secretary of Veterans Affairs to send Congress a letter letting them know that Veterans didn’t really need the $3.7 billion increase over the President’s request.
In October, just to be clear, Jim Nussle, the President’s new budget director, sent another letter stating Congressional plans for veterans contained an “excessive level of spending,” and threatened to veto other bills if the Congress didn’t scale back funding for veterans.
This week, the President complains that we are not sending him Military Construction/Veterans funding as a stand alone bill, but since the President took office it’s been consolidated with other appropriations bills 3 times, sent up on its own once, and last year the bill was never enacted at all - the former Majority simply shut down the Congress and went home. The media is suppose to do their job, but what is good for the goose is good for the gander..... You did not ask any of these questions or conduct a vetting process on Obama... so as far as I am concerned you did not earn the right to tear Palins personal life to shreds...
The great thing about all the very real media attacks (demand for DNA testing, questioning parentage, disparaging having a career and family) is that 53% of the people in this country are women and they are pissed. I predict Mean Streak NBC will be out of business in a year. And Can't Nominate None (CNN) for you libs who can't figure it out, will be gone in 2 years. People are sick and tired of having the media tell us what to think.
Thanks to all of you media outlets who are finally DOING YOUR JOB and reporting the facts instead of whitewashing the RNC's lies, and rubber stamping their choices. It is about time!
The media is biased against the McCain campaign as well as the Clinton run. They bring up all the innuendos that Palin is not qualified but have not fully disclosed Obama's qualifications. If the medai truly wanted to do their job, they would put both Palin's and Obama's resume side by side and let the public decide. Yet they haven't done that. I wonder why?
The media has always been biased against conservatives and favors the liberals. Obama can do nothing wrong in their eyes and words. Hopefully, the majority will see thru this and vote for McCain-Palin.
P.D. @ 27:
ALL those women are the reason I don't watch the view. Bunch of opinionated, loud mouth know-it-alls.
In regard to the press not doing its job: During the Nixon scandals, the press was doing its job. They even did it for a few more years. Then came Irangate--remember Ollie North and sales of weapons to Iran to fund a contra war down in Central America? And Ronald Reagan, who was very pro-whatever Ollie was doing suddenly couldn't remember what he had for breakfast (although this might have been correct.) I watched for outrage in the Senate. Nothing. Ollie got on there and took all the blame, and the press let him do it. Ever since then it's been downhill all the way. Even years later when a book came out: America, what went wrong? There was no investigation, no outrage that we were on the slippery slope to destruction. Now look at the mess we're in. We have a virtual dictatorship in government, a Supreme Court that puts in that dictator, and a Congress that sits on its hands and lets him do as he pleases, even as he sets fires in country after country for domination of oil. I'm afraid that the press is so reined in by the corporations who own the media--all we'll ever get is propaganda. Watch LINK TV and Free Speech TV if you want something besides pablum for breakfast.
