Christie Is 4th Choice For GOP Presidential Candidate Among Voters, Poll Says

TRENTON — More than four in 10 Republicans would rather Gov. Chris Christie not run for president in 2016, a new poll indicates.

In fact, the governor is only the fourth choice make a bid for the White House, according to the CBS/New York Times poll released today.

Just 31 percent of Republican said they'd like to see Christie declare himself a candidate. That figure trailed Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (41 percent) and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (39 percent). Thirty-two percent of those asked said they'd like Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) to run for president.
