Gov. Chris Christie unknowing did Hillary Clinton a huge favor by comparing her presidential campaign announcement speech to one Senator Elizabeth Warren might have made if she joined the 2016 race.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So you saw Hillary Clinton yesterday. She said all the Republican candidates are singing the same song, "Yesterday."

What song did you hear from her?

CHRISTIE: Listen, first off, I thought that Elizabeth Warren wasn't running for president. But when I listened to Hillary yesterday, it sounds like liberal political consultants put together that speech.

I think in -- it raises a bigger point for Secretary Clinton. I've done 146 town hall meetings in the last five years in New Jersey and around the country. Mrs. Clinton doesn't hear from anybody. She doesn't talk to anybody. She doesn't take questions from anybody.

How would she know what real Americans are really concerned about?

I -- I don't know.
Is it the, you know, when she's out giving paid speeches?
I don't understand when she would know what she was saying yesterday about real Americans.

How would she know?

STEPHANOPOULOS: So the gloves are off, I can see that right now

To most of the beltway media and all of the GOP, if you're a Democratic politician and you talk about left wing ideals, then you are either a marxist, socialist whacko or some kind of a Fidel Castro radical. Many in the Democratic base are worried that if Hillary wins the nomination or the presidency, she would be a repeat of Bill Clinton's conservative/DLC compromises so acknowledging that' she's focusing on liberal principles, Gov. Christie is helping her with the base and also standing up for policies that would actually help working class Americans.

And he's also strengthening Elizabeth Warren's credentials as a real progressive hero.
