Haley Barbour. Where to begin? Can we talk about how this racist dog used his influence to make sure beachfront properties in Mississippi were prioritized after Hurricane Katrina, siphoning off money that was supposed to rebuild New Orleans and handing out fraudulent contracts to his relatives and cronies? Defended BP after the oil spill?

Praised the White Citizens Councils? Makes shit up about our country's racial history? Said he'd love to see Chris Christie "put a hot poker to Obama's butt" -- presumably because that's how we handle slaves with uppity ideas in Mississippi?

He is not Robert Byrd, who denounced his racist past. This is a flat-out right-wing extremist, a racist who appears on your teevee because he has a gentlemen's agreement with the media to pretend he's a Southern gentlemen. He's the one who should have a brand on his ass.

It took quite a bit of public pressure to get this then-governor to finally say he would veto a state license plate honoring Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest, who of course went on to become a famous Klan leader.

And of course Morning Joe has him on to ask about the Confederate flag controversy. Of course they do. This is a man who, as governor, hung a stars and bars Confederate flag signed by the secessionist traitor Jefferson Davis in his office.

It's a "decoration." End of discussion.
