Protests are being held all over the country today, but in a ritzy Arizona community, they're especially hot. In the heart of Arpaio country, protesters are blocking a highway with their cars and their bodies while protesting Donald Trump's presence in Arizona.

At one point, a car drove through a group of about 50 protesters in order to reach their final destination and hear their hero threaten their families, friends and loved ones with deportation. In 90-degree heat, it's even hotter on the ground.

Enter CNN's premiere Donald Trump apologist and resident racist Jeffrey Lord, who earnestly explained to CNN's Fredricka Whitfield that while he totally supports the First Amendment right to protest, these particular protesters are the "violent left," who just protest in order to protest, without conviction over the issues they're standing for.

Citing protests ranging from the Vietnam War to Black Lives Matter, Lord concluded, "The subject always changes. What I'm talking about here is what I call the violent left in action."

He said these words against a backdrop of peaceful protesters exercising their right to protest, as if there is some band of professional protesters who never ages, never changes, but instead simply morphs into the issue of the moment to protest.

Lord minimized the very real concerns of people who hear Trump's fascistic declarations and respond to them with speech we protect under the United States constitution. It was a shameful moment.
