Are you ready for some football!?! Are you ready for some Midwestern, below-freezing, possible-snow football? Kickoff for Bears vs. Packers, in Chicago, is at 3 Eastern / 12 Pacific. Steelers vs. Jets, in Pittsburgh, kicks off at 6:30 Eastern / 3:30 Pacific.
Open football thread below....

not a big football fan, but would like to the Jets win today !

The truth will set you free but can you handle the truth?
George Carlin was one of a kind.
Thnx, luw!
Is there anywhere you can see the Bear/Packer game online for free? I've looked at the Fox page and found lots of video highlights but nothing to watch the actual game. I've found a couple of subscription services but the companies look flakey and I'm not willing to wast even a few bucks and more importantly my credit card info on them. This is the first time since I cancelled my cable that I miss it.
If you have a local FOX Station, you can watch it on your television if you have a decent antenna & a digital TV or digital convertor. I doubt that any free online site would be able to legally air the game though. ESPN offers a Game Cast of each game, but it's not video coverage. They only display a graphic representation of the field & update the field position of each team as the game progresses...
I don't have any TV so guess I'm out of luck. thanks for replying.
Got a radio?
Without a TV, then probably the best options you have are the graphic updates at ESPN or the radio as suggested by Bainbridge22. You might be able to download the game from BitTorrent after the fact if you really wanted to watch even after knowing the outcome...

a sports bar probably has it on...oh I see this is late. Hey, they've no doubt been stretching the last 2-3 minutes out to about an hour or so.
me-oww!
and I'm about as social as Lisbeth Salander, a bit less actually
.
it hardly matters
channelsurfing.net has just about everything free. The feeds aren't that great, but they are there.
Too late for this time but given the outcome (I'm originally from Chicago) probably better I didn't see it. I'll make a note for the next time the Bears are in the playoffs.
and what not. Plus, I watched all the Pats games that weren't televised on the west coast. It's not a bad link, I keep it in favorites.
Raised in WI on Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, Paul Hornung and of course Ray Nitschke. Won a PP&K contest at age 8. Suffered through "the drought" for 30 years. Lombardi died on the first day of school of my sophomore year of HS. This is a state day of mourning in WI. Best football coach who ever lived. Period.
Now I live in SoCal and deal with the San Diego Chokers.

We have FIBs here in Michigan, too.
Would love the black and gold to beat the Jets. So far, Green Bay is beating the Bears, 7-0. Would be great if the Steelers and Packers, symbols of union workers of America's proud past, would meet in the Super Bowl ... We'll know at the end of the day.
From the opening drives on each side, it is already clear how this game will end.
What a pity. I had high hopes for an interesting matchup.

Go Bears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Packers! Go Jets!
I picked three of last weeks games correctly, guess which one I got wrong. New England! Well, today I've got the Packers and the Steelers. And the Packers to win it all.
That is all.
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust.
The Steelers will kick you guys ass!
Hell yeah I'm bitter. I gotta root for Ben sub-animal public bathroom rapist Roethlisberger...disgusting.
Tried to watch some of the Pittsburg versus New York contest, but it was so incredibly boring.
The Swedish commercials on the free online streaming were much better than the actual "game" itself.
How do 'Merkins watch this crap?
Are they all drunk, or are they all involved in organised criminal betting on these gay gladiator shows?
And, yeah, the first half was boring. Pittsburgh was blowing 'em out. The Jets are making a comeback as I type.

Bunch of fat guys fall down for 5 seconds, stand around for four minutes, then fall down again?
Thanks, I'll pass.
Now go and call Ray Lewis fat.
Hey Ray Lewis... whoever you are, you're FAT!
