When Will Eric Schmitt Stop Lying About Jack Smith And Apologize?

If anyone should be convicted of perjury it should be Eric Schmitt.

Andrew Kolvet, host of today's The Charlie Kirk show, gave the country an example of how MAGA influencers repeatedly lie and defy reality to cover up for Republican sophistry by praising Senator Eric Schmitt's embarrassing "gotcha" questions to Special Counsel Jack Smith after he was completely humiliated for confusing Atlanta with Maryland during today's Senate hearing.

In what must have been a planned appearance on the Kirk show, Schmitt still made his appearance and Kolvet played along, pretending Schmitt had indeed tricked Jack Smith into perjuring himself.

After introducing Schmitt, Kolvert sad, "You did a great job, so gotta give you some flowers here, sir."

The Kirk show played some video of the exchange, which featured Sen. Schmitt erroneously claiming he had evidence via text message that Smith had perjured himself.

"Dang. So you had text messages from his team confirming that he was going to a Hawks game and he sat there acting dumbfounded and completely clueless," Kolvert said.

This was untrue and a lie, which put Sen. Schmitt on the spot if he had any integrity. He does not and instead of admitting the cock-up, he played along.

"He claimed later that he was at another game," Schmitt said. "I don't, you know, here's the thing."

SCHMITT: My job is to ask the questions.

He's already, and if that's what his answer is, then that's what his answer is ....but he also said that he also took the advice of the public integrity unit and he didn't because he was filing briefs within the 60 day window.

We were not supposed to do it before.

Jack Smith has lied under oath time and time again.

And so, you know, the purpose of today is just to get him to answer a bunch of questions and see if he's ensnares himself in more lies because he's done that before.

Since Schmitt's ruse was immediately debunked by Sen. Klobuchar during the hearing he went with smearing Smith as a habitual liar with no evidence.

Jack Smith's answers were correct and it was Sen. Schmitt that lied. Not only did he lie during the hearing, he lied at the interview instead of simply canceling his appearance once he faceplanted.

Schmitt didn't just lie, he produced phony visuals during the hearing that his staffers quickly took down. Schmitt still had the temerity to call Smith a dirtbag.

If anyone should be described as a dirtbag and convicted of perjury it should be Sen. Schmitt.

So when will Schmitt correct the record and apologize to Jack Smith? We're waiting.
