of why Americans are not flocking to Canada.
or anywhere else is because they can't raise any capital trying to sell all the worthless crap assets they've accumulated the past 40 years.
Is Canada on the American migratory path with they are flocking?
to see if they WANT you...
Before they let you immigrate, you take a test, and based on the score, they decide if you'll be a good Canadian.
Imagine that.
And to advocate such a thing here, would bring calls of racism.
!
besides obama press releases for a change.
Canadian Immigration Requirements
read any Obama press releases, lol!
Seems Governor "Waldo" of South Carolina has checked in and is no longer lost in space. What a weird story. The Lt Gov. sounds like he is pissed as hell not knowing where the governor was or what he was doing. I think Gov. "Waldo" has some 'splainin' to do.
he was engaging in same sex fromming or, worse, tree flocking.
If there was would you still call it a rumor? Why speculate about such things. The fact of the matter is the Governor was missing for days and nobody knew where he was (or so the story goes). This is irresponsible behavior for a person in his position regardless of the reason.
the unemployed and undereducated of South Carolina need to know he is there for them at all times.
I read the article on 10 myths about Canada Health Care. Just refuting the well worn right wing bullshit talking points as usual ( FUCK ME.. do those assholes ever tell the truth about anything ? ) Canadas system is far from perfect but it functions and few if any die due to lack of access or waiting for treatment . I cant think of many, if any, Canucks i know who would trade it for the pathetic US system. We get so tired of the bullshit flying North about our system. The US stands alone when it comes to denying citizens basic care based on greed alone. Never hear the frightwing bitch about the cost of the bombs and bullets their country drops on innocent people in bullshit corporate wars though do ya ? Right to life my ass !!!
..the conservative justices can't taste their own medicine. When they get too old to adjudicate, they can't be fired. When they render stupid decisions, how fortunate they are to have their jobs for life regardless of how old they are.
Democratic bipartisanship.
Land of Liberty
It is my RIGHT to die on the curb outside the hospital without being disturbed, except maybe by the POHLICE (sic and sicker) who might come to arrest me for vagrancy (or something more serious if I have a dark complexion).
This is your court on conservatives – a strange enthusiasm for punishment of the innocent.
They, and the whole legal establishment, basically, have bought into the fiction that if, once 'justoce' has been rendered, to revers the decision is damaging to "justice" in the abstract.
A not-difficult thing to do if you do not imagine--as the SCROTUS majority does not--that you should ever be entwined in the toils of injustice.
not only must justice be done, but it must also seem to be done. Roberts clearly does not care if the whole system is put in disrepute.
But I think people need to read the specifics of the Osborne case before passing judgement. This man chose not to have DNA testing done previously because his lawyers felt it might remove any question of his innocence by proving he actually committed the crime to which he confessed.
It sounds like Osborne is hoping that the DNA test might be 'inconclusive', and open the door for an appeal.
Of course, even understanding these realities, I still find my self thinking they should have allowed him to be tested even after his conviction.
jayzus!
Very good article about health care in Canada.
Last week, I posted that I heard a Canadian call into Limpball's program. He told a story about a Canadian with stage IV melanoma. Apparently, the only place with effective treatment is in Detroit, Michigan. That patient did get approval to go to the U.S. for treatment, but not to Detroit.....he had to go to Buffalo. That, to the caller and Limpballs, was evidence of how bad the Canadian system was....because a government bureaucrat denied coverage in Detroit.
First, would a U.S. insurance company allow coverage in Canada or any other country, if that was the best place to get treated?
Second, how many U.S. insurance companies would actually send patients to Detroit, if, say, that patient was in Alaska or Texas or Florida?
Yesterday, I heard Mark Steyn (friend and defender of convicted felon Conrad Black) state on the Limpballs show that in government run systems, hospitals are dirty. You go in with one disease but walk out with something else. That happens here, in the U.S.! You hear about it often. I think that staph infections are a great concern here.
My health insurance premiums cost me alone $5500 a year. That doesn't cover prescription medications. I read an article last week that said that 60% of personal bankruptcies are due to the inability to pay medical bills.
Something needs to be done.
These right wingers spread so much disinformation, it's ridiculous.
I support single payer option. One of the main obstacles that should be discussed is this one as listed on pnhp.com
Protection of the rights of health care and insurance workers -
A single-payer national health program would eliminate the jobs of hundreds of thousands of people who currently perform billing, advertising, eligibility determination, and other superfluous tasks. These workers must be guaranteed retraining and placement in meaningful jobs.
Actually , duplication of services is one of the things dragging the US system under. Too many providing the same service or doing the same job. Its been said that US system is top heavy in suits and management and not enough folks providing the actual care. In Canada , we have regional care centres that specialize in a certain faction of health care be it heart, cancer, vascular or what have you. I live smack dab in the middle of various regional specialty hospitals. They are all within an hours drive with 2 of them within a half hours trip. I think its a good idea. Health Care dont generally advertise here as they arent selling anything to anyone.Everyone is eligible to participate too so that eliminates the assholes in cubicles denying you the care you thought you had paid for already. Health care in US is just another greed based segment of US life eating itself. Like the military industrial complex.
I agree with your point.
http://www.charlierose.com/view/interview/10403
this interview was on charlie rose last night. the interview was with verizon chairman and ceo ivan seidenberg. he comments on healthCare reform. he states;he's coming to table 'as a big payer'. he also talks about everyone having digital e-health record.
