Well, it's official. The Quitter's done.
On Monday night, she went on Faux News and begged Florida Republicans to vote Gingrich.
PALIN: You gotta rage against the machine at this point in order to defend our republic and save what is good and prosperous about our nation...So, if for no other reason, rage against the machine -- vote for Newt! Annoy a liberal -- vote Newt! Keep this vetting process going, keep the debate going.
Yes, annoy a liberal -- vote Newt. Because, as everyone knows, what liberals fear the most is a protracted, bloody Republican primary followed by the thrice-married, ethically challenged, hugely unpopular Gingrich facing Obama in November.

Whenever Earth Hour (or Earth Day) roles around, the right wing sites go nuts with these ideas that they should spend the whole time just driving around in circles in their SUV's just to offset the energy savings of liberals. It costs them time and money, but they seem to think it's a wonderful idea because it "annoys liberals." In fact, a majority of their reasoning seems to increasingly be based simply on that idea. "What will annoy liberals the most?" Not what is best for the country, or heck, even what's best for them. Simply, what will annoy liberals? Heck, people like Ann Coulter have made entire careers out of it.
In some ways, it's nice to finally hear one of them admit that this stupid idea really is their most fundamental guiding principle. I mean, what's more fundamental in politics than voting? And what should your reasoning be based on? Who it annoys.

Palin reminds me of Ted Baxter from the Mary Tyler Moore Show. In one episode, after a series of blunders on the air, Mr. Grant complained about their ratings going up. Mary said, "You should be glad our ratings are up." Lou Grant responded, "Not when people are tuning in to see what kind of blunder Ted is going to make next!"
