It will make you as blind to reality as they are. Just look at it and keep it refrigerated.

Eeew...poison, pure and simple.

Serve it to rightwing friends, if there is such a thing. They would only get goofier.

Heh

and that is something they need little assistance with.

Where are you this week?

It took me 12 freaking hours to get here. Four hours sitting in the plane on the tarmac at OHare. They kicked 30 people off the plane due to weight (I commented to the guy next to me that they keep picking all the skinny people...they should have tossed my fat ass off! He was cracking up.) I am beyond tired...overtired. I just took a sleeping pill. I tried to snooze for the last half hour. Ugh.

Anything they touch would turn out vile.

Personally, I think the repressed anger and hatred is why they age so badly - frowns and furrowed brows are common among this crowd.

And their tears are not those of a penitent, but of the petulant child who didn't get what they wanted for Christmas and is now throwing a temper tantrum. (Actually, the past eight years have been a spoiled child's temper tantrum, and now we have an adult in the office, thank God.)

Anyone try it?

Or Salvia?

Saliva!

Saliva, nothanks ,I'll use my own.

from asking what you plan on using it for.

Digestion and swallowing. Maybe swapping spit with a good lady. I can dream can't I?

dream, that is...which is what I am going to do right now.

Sweet dreams!!

It is a strange substance. Some people report a lot of enlightenment after having the experience. Unlike other halucinagens, it supposedly takes you to a completely different place.

Yes

Salvia was very spiritual for me. It created a sense of "oneness" with everything.

Absinthe, not so much.

Rice acts kisses up to Hillary. Wall Street suddenly catches up with the rest of the country and realizes we've had a recession for a year. Bush pretends to care about his screw-ups while lying about his accomplishments. Too bad this is his real legacy.

is ANYTHING from Rice. Worst SoS to go along with the worst POTUS.

Guess what one of Obamas very first votes as a senator from Ilinois
was? (back in 2005)

He voted to confirm Condoleeza Rice as secretary of state!

The bad news is we have been in a recession for a year. The good news is that it will be over a year before it was supposed to be.

neoconservatives use a machine like the
non-fuctioning fluid recycler on the space
station. except theirs definitely does not
work and those tears are 100% urine.

I've never posted a WTF before, but I just got this e-mail (portion) from Amazon:

"We've noticed that customers who have purchased or rated Armed Madhouse: From Baghdad to New Orleans--Sordid Secrets and Strange Tales of a White House Gone Wild by Greg Palast have also purchased
The 10 Big Lies About America: Combating Destructive Distortions About Our Nation by Michael Medved."

Rated, maybe, but purchased?

The guy is more full of it than a Xmas goose.

I’ll bet they are very salty!

Burnt flesh odor to be added to all new American SUV's for that "Bush era smell" republicans so desire.

I want to hear them shriek their last sieg heils from the gallows and curse their executioners, proudly, full of the monstrous fascism that destroyed America. Short rope.

So is the glass.

Everyone knows neo-cons can't cry.

They have their tear ducts removed with a melon-baller when they were kids.

Nobody who stomps on the constitution, advocates torture, is indifferent to "co-lateral" damage, lies through their teeth, believes god only cares about white folks, is OK with poisoning the planet as long as a buck is made, sheds any real tears, only crocodile tears. Neocons will go down in history as a dark, dark episode in US history. Fuck 'em all!

Today it was officially announced we have been in a recession since 12/2007. I was getting tired of listening to the hyperbole from the white house denying the economic state.

We knew and the experts kept denying it.

More Bush shit, including a subtle dig at Clinton being responsible for the economic crisis, and some "liberal" media kissing-up. The Dalai Lama is the last person on earth who'd want to drink a non-alcoholic beverage with Dubya. The real reason behind Dumbya's "approval" rating.

That Bush interview sucked a couple I.Q. points out of me.

It's strange all of my conservative acquaintances tell me they didn't vote for McCain or Bush. I wish the rats would have abandoned the ship before they ran it aground.

Anyone know where we can see a good summary of the current Thailand crisis? The impression I'm getting is that the people who keep losing the vote want to change the rules so that one person effectively doesn't equal one vote.

Their counter claim is that the effectively poorest people in the country who keep voting against them are having their votes bought. The court decision nonwithstanding dissolving the parliament *again* is there actually any concrete evidence of this?

Neocon tears, bristling career diplomats... It's like Christmas shopping, but without all that shoving. Oh happy day!

I even had to write a blog about my Hill-arious happiness about
our new SoS.

Hello world, we are staging a Dream Team comeback in Yes we Can Obamaland! We love you - please come to our party!

C'mon, let's be better than the wingnuts. This is nothing short of gloating. C&L, take the high road.

lest we hurt the sensibilities of the sons of a bitches who bankrupted our treasury, mismanaged the government, and killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people for no apparent reason.'

Oh, noes...

..in lieu of the actual punishment which ought to be liberally dealt out to all wingnuts for their crimes of complicity in the War Crime of the Century.

I'm with the Hague folks here on this issue.

Between when Lincoln was elected and when he was finally swore in, states were dropping out of the union like the decaying appendages that they were.
There was no consensus on anything! and states were more independent back then - it really mattered where the appointee was from - unlike today in which the difference is much more marginalized. He brought these guys in for their constituencies more for than their skills at a particular appointment. So look at the current situation - so who are the rivals?
Okay best example is Clinton - but she kissed and made up a long time ago.
Biden? picking a cordial adversary from a primary for Vice - it happens all the time and he will be just a Vice which means he will be powerless except in cases of tie in the Senate, despite the reinvention of the office under Bush/Cheney.
Gates? - he's just on for continuity (gone in a year) and who else are we talking about now?

Strong personalities - yes, but I think the real common denominator is humility, of course in a relativistic way; they ARE politicians. However, they will know how to take orders after saying their piece. Hillary demonstrated this in her first years in the Senate, Biden during the campaign and Gates has never showed me anything else and James Jones will be a good soldier not the blowhards that Lincoln had to deal with.

Got the following in the mail regarding a certain petition:

Thank you for your letter concerning impeachment proceedings against President George W. Bush and his authority to grant pardons. I appreciate the time you took to write and welcome the opportunity to respond.

I believe we are at a point in time where partisan politics and divisions within our country must come to an end. Our financial institutions are suffering. Our economy is in crisis and we are also at war in the Middle East. I believe that impeachment proceedings against President Bush will only divide the country even further, frustrating our hopes for a meaningful change in direction, while having little chance of success.

The election of Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) as President has started a new chapter in our history, and the President-elect has said that he wants to heal the divisions in this nation and create a sense of unity. Although I have been deeply disappointed and outspoken by many of the Bush Administration's actions, it is time to focus on constructive and cooperative steps that would lead our country in the right direction.

Please know that I read and understand your concern about potential abuse of presidential pardons by President Bush. Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution gives the president "Power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment." A reprieve reduces the severity of a punishment without removing the guilt of the person reprieved. A pardon removes both punishment and guilt.

Most judicial scholars interpret the President's power to grant reprieves and pardons as absolute. Individual reprieves and pardons cannot be blocked by Congress or the courts. The Framers of the Constitution envisioned the pardon power as having a narrow purpose. It is my hope that President Bush will use his Constitutional authority wisely.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to write me. I hope you will continue to keep in touch with me on issues of importance to you. If you have any questions or comments, please call my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-3841. Best regards.

Oh great.. its Soylent Red.

Its not quite people, but its close.

Just heard on CNN that Alberto and Shooter will not be facing charges...

...charges were dismissed by a Texas judge.

(actually skip the off topic part) ...open thread DUH!

Here's my retort to "President" Bush touting his legacy on ABC last night. It ain't for the faint of heart.

I've visited your site before and it's always impressive. Cheers!

)O(

I bet it makes an excellent paint thinner.

That's funny I'd always thought they'd taste bitter, salty, and vomit-inducing.

i think the horrific events in mumbai point to a critical issue in the war on terror: how to proceed. Using the bush/cheney model, should we now invade pakistan or india? bush has explicitly rejected the notion that terrorism is a law enforcement issue, choosing to pursue terrorists thru military means. The mumbai terrorism points out the futility of a military approach. The billions of $ being spent on antiquated military deployments would be better spent on intelligence gathering, special military ops, tracking financial transactions, and other behind the scenes tactics. Transnational terrorism, it seems to me, typically does not present a useful military target.

That's crazy talk!
IF we did all that...how would bushies DoD buddies make all that sweet sweet cash?

...the folks in the Obama administration need to stop using that term "War on Terror." Framing it in military terminology is what keeps the notion in people's minds that we're actually fighting a well-organized, large "army" of bad guys. So, convincing them that there's a need to send in thousands of troops is a lot easier.

As you say, the correct way to reduce the problem (as I doubt it will ever be eradicated)is to use the allocated funds to establish better intelligence, use spec. ops and do much more targeted missions to apprehend or kill the creeps.

How do we proceed?

- Security that is flexible and in-depth (think baseball - the outfield can play to the right, move in, and your line of defense goes pitcher/catcher > infield > outfield), as opposed to this 'magic intercept' (if we screen everyone's phone calls, we'll get the one that says, "Achmed, now is the time to detonate the bomb!") nonsense that the Bush Administration keeps selling.

- Security that is fail safe, as opposed to 'fail badly'. If your rotary saw breaks, you want it to stop, not spin wildly and launch the blade into the room.

- Combat terrorism through coordinated investigation and law enforcement. This has been pooh-poohed as 'doing nothing' and 'being reactive,' but this is simply how we respond to situations, whether it's a crime or the other team's passing playbook.

- Give the military a mission they can accomplish, not one they can't. Especially not nonsense like 'clear, hold, and build' that seems to ignore the realities of the process.

Pirates attack US Cruise ship.

But WTF do you expect whilst cruisin in such waters?
I mean...how oblivious do ya gotta be to say, "Hey honey, lets take a cruise in pirate infested waters!"

I was thinking of how bush failed in this one too.
+ You don't see me goin on some damn cruise in the Gulf of Aden.

And that's assuming either of us could afford to go on a cruise in the first place...
Thanks bush!

Goes well with fava beans.
