Another "Honest McCain Campaign Poster":

Oh my, it's the fonz! McCain is so screwed now :p

McCain can just "sit on it".

You know McCain is in trouble when Lil Opie and Richie Cunningham have to speak up. Now if the Beaver speaks up we might as well end it now.

McCain’s Latest Faux Hero: Art Vandelay

Awwwwwww...

I think McCain is gonna counter with the terminator! And heck, maybe he'll even dig up Charlton Heston as the stiff.

I may be wrong but I can't imagine Governor Schwartzenwhatever would give a nod to McCain. He may be a corrupted fool, but he's got some fairly progressive views on many major issues.

...but this is what I googled:

And by that time there was no one left to speak up.” -Martin Niemöller

Thanks Crooks and Liars for speaking up for all of us.

That was so good. Thanks C&L for Ron's video.

Can you picture something similar with Bo and Luke jumping the General Lee over an old bridge on their way to vote for Obama. Roscoe and McCain in pursuit.

I love what Ron, Andy and Henry did. This is a message that needs to be seen by all. These guys are true patriots.

Funny and entertaining too. Most excellent!

Here is the UNDERSTATEMENT of the century. This century, the last century, any century, take your pick.

Described here in the Guardian: 'Alan Greenspan told Henry Waxman he had "found a flaw" in his economic philosophy.'

A 'flaw' he said, and he was 'shocked'. Shocked he said!

Shocked, I imagine, to find $55 Trillion in UNREGULATED Credit Default Swaps derived from perhaps $1 TRILLION in real estate.

Although no one really knows.

$55 Trillion is more money than exists in the world.

But the $1 Trillion in Real Estate certainly exists, although it is losing value. It is Real Estate with mortgages, mortgages that are going belly up.

There were 850,000 foreclosures in the last year, there could be that many in the next year. Conservatively that could be $150 Billion per year times 55. $8 Trillion in Gamblers debts, per year. That $700 billion will dry out quickly. The meter on those Credit default swaps keeps on-a-running. $55 to $1.

In a 2006 article Paul Krugman put the horse collars squarely on Greenspan and Phil Graham.

I wonder how many will be looking into the futures market for GUILLOTINES after Greenspan's admission!

Here is Rachel Maddow with Henry Waxman on the incredible admission by Greenspan.

Now we know who did it.

Looks like it might have oil.

New Poll: Bachmann Fighting For Political Life

http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.c...

Guardian UK: Threat of big losses puts Republicans in a spin

Among indications of panic yesterday, the National Republican Congressional Committee pulled $50,000 (£31,000) in ads scheduled for broadcast from Monday for Michele Bachman, a Republican congresswoman from Minnesota. The party effectively disowned her over remarks she made on television on Friday in which she said Obama "may have anti-American views". The committee is also withdrawing funding from other congressional races seen as futile contests.

bachman is a christian maroon

another faux christian bites the dust

and still, no one can confirm that she had 28 foster kids

Not sure they tried, but it's too bad they couldn't get Mr. C, who was a big "I Like Ike" guy. I missed it if they had a JFK episode on Happy Days. I don't really know Mr Bosley's political persuasion (trying to outdo Ed McMahon for endorsements probably doesn't say much either way), but Mr. C's endorsement would have been a funny commentary on the McPfailin train wreck.

Matlock's voting for Obama? What's next? On Golden Girl's gone, Betty White's already let us know where she stands. I'm sure Bea Arthur isn't voting for Lumpy and Gawdzilla from Wasilla.

The biggest story of the day IMO, is the poll by the AP that polled 44% evangelicals to come up with an even contest between McCain and Obama. Dishonest and designed to steal the election.
http://www.wvgazette.com/News/200810170676

WTF

This is still the biggest story of the day. We already know that McCain and his brother have mental problems and that the video was entertaining, but them stealing another election goes right over your heads.

A look into Obama's mind:

KLEIN: [Do you ever make decisions] from the gut?

OBAMA: Well, during the course of this campaign probably our response to those Reverend Wright videos had to be a spot decision, because frankly it was unanticipated and I hadn't seen those incendiary videos before. The decision to make it big as opposed to make it small.

KLEIN: To make the speech.

OBAMA: To write a speech in two days and deliver it at a time when there was a singular focus on the topic I think is an example of having to make decision based on what in my gut would make sense.

KLEIN: What was your gut telling you?

OBAMA: My gut was telling me that this was a teachable moment and that if I tried to do the usual political damage control instead of talking to the American people like an adult -- like they were adults and could understand the complexities of race that I would be not only doing damage to the campaign but missing an important opportunity for leadership.

I gotta admit, I think it was one of his finest moments.

Absolutely right, Karen

With Bloomberg getting the nod to overrule law and take a third term in NYC, I worry about Bush doing the same thing. Declare martial law because of economic collapse or some terrorist thing, and then declare a 3rd term.

...the narrow voting margin on the NY City Council vote only allows him to RUN again. He may not have the popular vote to actually win. Not the same as him "taking" a third term.

Of course, like the national elections, perhaps the Republicans are truly depending on that old stage prop, the Deus Ex Machina, to win it for them... damn machines! --MaryK

Fonz: Moose? I thought she said she was loose! What a classic. Thanks Ron, Andy and Henry.

Does appying alum help? No juice though.

Anyone see the Rob Riggle segment on the Daily Show tonight? Another classic. Riggle was giving a bus tour of NYC to see the other "real America." He handed out checklists to everyone on the upper deck of the bus and had the tourists check off each type of person they saw. It included gays, people on welfare, pre-op trannies, etc. It was frgn' hilarious!

Check this out.....seems as if an anger management problem runs in the McCain family. Unbelieveable. It's not confirmed that it was Joe McCain, but it sure sounds like him, and when the 9-11 operator called him back, he/she got a voice message that said "this is Joe McCain."

http://rawstory.com/news/2008/McCain_brother_...

The McCain dudes need some serious counselling. Judging from their behaviour, though, it's probably too late for that.

The elderly Mrs McCain seems nice but she's got some really nasty sons with obvious anger management problems.

Its THEIR road !!!! how dare these plebes use THEIR road...

ditto with Zanesville Ohio and the recent Ohio Supreme court ruling that denying a sub district piped mains water for fifty years, while all around them other people got water was discrimination.
The clincher was in 1999 after a white family moved in, they instantly got mains water.
The mains water pipe was two hundred feet from the properties.

That and the local county commissioner (beef farmer and commercial green houses, so heavy water user) saying "your grandchildren's grandchildren will never have water"

$10 million awarded to the twenty five families.

You cannot get more conservative Southern values than those iconic characters.

Wow!! Just wow!

wants Obama in the White House who can argue with that?

My fear is that we get to over confident. Don't let up! Damn it, we are too close.

Indeed. The sprint to the finish often holds unexpected surprises.

I wonder how Floyd the Barber is voting? I'm pretty sure no one in Mayberry would vote for McCain.

Nice clip: Opie approved; good enough for me.

Not sure who Floyd's voting for but I guarantee McCain's going to get the votes of Otis the town drunk, Ernest T. Bass, and perhaps Goober if he's a little slow on election day.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. suicide rates appear to be on the rise, driven mostly by middle-aged white women, researchers reported on Tuesday.

The overall suicide rate rose 0.7 percent during this time,

Is it a surprise that in the Bushco 'paradise' of never ending war and financial ruin, and the prison society with two million Americans behind bars, another 2-4 million in the parole probation system, millions being impoverished by the draconian legal system with its empathizes on sin and social retribution for minor crimes of human folly. All those reality TV shows pushing the "behave message or else". Endless gruesome CSI cop murder fest shows. America is rather sick in general.

People become depressed !!!!!!!!! wonder why. Being Medicated is the 'norm' now, that is a sad state of affairs for a society. And yes alcohol does count as medication...

As somebody once said, "America is insane, the 'mad' ones are the ones who are sane and protesting"

Time to vote the bums out of office and make America sane again.

Palin Denies $150,000 Clothing Tab: "That Is Not Who We Are"

"It's kind of painful to be criticized for something when all the facts are not out there and are not reported," said Palin, saying the clothes are not worth $150,000 and were bought for the Republican National Convention.

The lie? The clothes were bought after the convention.

"I think that those reporters asking those questions should come to some of our rallies and ask some of those in the crowd why it is they are enthused," she said, adding that the crowds see her as representing "hardworking, everyday American families."

Funny, I heard reporters were forbidden to ask the crowd questions.

I hope you all get back to reality. I always like the old shows, but some of you are way out of touch with reality.

Spending rose in Palin's Alaska administrations

WASHINGTON — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin calls herself a fiscal conservative who wants to "rein in government spending." She says she "reformed the abuses of earmarks in our state." Republican John McCain said during the last debate that his running mate has "cut the size of government."
But Palin didn't cut the size of government as mayor of Wasilla, and she hasn't done so as Alaska's governor, city and state budget records show. Spending in fast-growing Wasilla increased by 55% during her tenure from 1996-2002, records show. In nearly two years as governor, she has presided over a 31% spending hike by a state government that sought earmarks from Washington even as it reaped billions from higher oil prices and Palin-backed tax increases on oil companies

how could anyone create a $20Million Deficit in a town of 9,000?

CoIntelPro.PronktasticlyAgainst.SCLM.E-Voting.Incumbents

You might have thought this was just a little cute ad, but it is the most effective campaign add of the season:

1. Ron Howard is a symbol of apple pie America--someone who could never lie.
2. He references two of the most popular comedy shows ever.
3. These shows target white voters 35 and older--people most likely to be undecided or voting for McCain.
4. He is convincing that this is unusual for him to do.

Palin is hoping to be this generations' Dewey. The U.S. chooses to punish Bolivia, because it didn't meet its Drug War quota.

Palin is a liar. Palin is NOT a fiscal conservative. Palin raised taxes on oil co. profit. Palin was all for the
'Bridge to NoWhere' before she was against it. i really don't give a damn where Palin buys clothing but
please spare me the hockey mom and wal-mart mascot republican bullshxt. i did NOT like Palin that friday she was named the nominee. Palin is too far RIGHT for my liking. what concerns me is, i don't think many
people really know how Palin would be on the issues. they believe in palin because she is an evangelical.
NOW there is some chatter that she would be a top contender in 2012. i do NOT see it.

Palin is as toasty as John McCain.

On November 5th we will all be exhausted and Palin will be totally forgoten by February.

If she were to run in 2012 this would be a GIFT. Imagine the primary debates! Comedic gold.

I was gonna vote for Obama anyway, 8 years ago we were outnumbered by idiots. Now the ones that voted for the moron are realizing they were morons too. I voted for Gore, then Kerry. The two so called men in office today should be brought up on charges.... May be they can do another skit with Andy arresting Bush and Cheney for high treason.

I'm thinking of Dim Leader as Ernest T. Bass and Cheney as one of those dark-suited gravelly-voiced regulars who periodically tried to knock off the department store by digging a hole under Floyd's barber shop. Whaddya think?

Keeping in mind, their purpose is, is to enlighten.

We were speaking about the hatred and violence being reported at voter polling places in the USA.
We analyzed as much as we could and came to this conclusion. The Right-Wing (especially the evangelicals and NeoCons) are afraid they are losing the power that they so badly mishandled. They wanted to have a SCOTUS that was completely on the Right. They wanted to overturn Roe-v-Wade. They wanted desperately to make this country into a theocracy.

Now they see this road blocked by people who are finally rising up from their slumber, who are pissed at what the R's have done, and like a school yard bully who finally gets punched in the nose, are crying. The whining has just begun, unfortunately so has the hatred and violence.

Be prepared.

Here's one liberal Democrat who will fight back with a vengeance.

On another note...seems the RNC is rethinkin the ACORN voter fraud stratagem...hehehehe

The Obama/Biden campaign keeps talking "jobs baby jobs". There are 600 Obama ground team folks who were sent to Ohio. Most of the paid Obama team members that I have looked into here in southeastern Ohio are from other states. I have tried to get the numbers on just how many people the Obama campaign actually hired from Ohio but have been unable to get those numbers from the Obama headquarters. The people from out of state sent into do what the Obama campaign refers to as "grass roots" certainly make me question just how "grass roots" the Obama campaign really is. Why not put people who are out of work in towns like Glouster, Chauncey, Pomeroy and elsewhere around the state to work for the campaign instead of bringing out of state people in? This seems to be a major contradiction to Obama and Bidens the call for "jobs baby jobs".

But your theory just don't hold water.

for the disappearing(poof)straws.

)O(

You dun't wun't her water to break duz ya

Cuz?

Holds a great deal of water. You know this is a legitimate question and it scares you.

The Obama campaign has not operated any different than any other campaign in the past. They have just sent in more paid workers because they have raised more money. The majority of these people are from other states instead of hiring local people and empowering them. Many people are in need of jobs in these states (Ohio big time) they could have provided training.

Why not do something different and hire people from the local areas (Portsmouth, Nelsonvlle, Pomeroy Ohio) and other areas like this who are in need of jobs instead of bringing outside people in? This is the way campaigns have operated for years and the locals know it. These local people just see the campaigns when they want their votes. The Obama campaign has been operating the same way

Your buckets got a hole in it...
You are the one who is afeared...Obamas BRILLIANT campaign has you and all the other RethugliCONS shittin in your skivvies.
(my most sincere apology if you aren't republican)
He's got the floundering McSpain/Plain campaign up against the ropes and is raining haymakers on them...

It seems that the Obama is indeed operating QUITE differently, and more effectively than past campaigns...the 50 state strategy is likely comprised of volunteers and paid workers indigenous to each respective state...now, that being said, I'm sure the Obama campaign sends in a few outside folks in to help organize the efforts in a particular area, then they move on to another area where their skills are needed.
Please...try to get your propaganda right before coming here.

You are a fool. I have been coming here for years and have a very solid point. I am on Obama's bus but let's be honest the "hope and Change" bus is nothing but a well put together and successful Public relations campaign it has worked. But in reality there is nothing at all to hitch your wagon to with Obama. I have watched him closely in the Senate the last few years he is a fence sitter. He was even out of town the day he could have voted against the warmongering Kyl Lieberman amendment, the day he could have actually voted no on warmongering legislation...but quess what he did not.

Granted the campaign has been amazing, but there is no hard evidence as to just how Obama will operate as the President. Let's not have illusions

Held 600 jobs for Ohioans (or at least half of those jobs would have been logical)

i think there is something fishy going on with some of the polling. there are unscrupulous pollsters who write loaded questions and then publish their skewed results. The majority of polls give obama a significant lead. But then you see these one and two point margins reported by AP and a few others. Somethings fishy there.

2 right wing nuts to support his campaign-
Ted Nugent and Chuck Norris are even further to the right than michael savage-

I'm sure Dennis Miller will chime in too...

all right opie, the fonz, you both have the huevos to stand up and proclaim with knowledge what you believe, unlike the "action" heroes who only mimic the day's talking points without thought. right chuck? right Arnie? right, Bruce? when the wind blows the other way will you change at that point to save your all ready sagging careers?

GOP strategy-the last 10 days, steal the election. Are they out there right now, engaging in voter fraud on a massive scale?

But it seems to me...it won't be so easy now, as it was in 2000 and 2004.

ELECTION FRAUD by voter suppression.

Voter fraud just doesn't happen, or happens in such small numbers that it is irrelevant and easily caught.

Please don't confuse the two terms.

That's what the rethugs are attempting to do...voter suppression.

Poor delusional girl from College Station, Texas (home of the AGGIES) lying about being attacked by a big scary black man and then having a "b" carved into her cheek.

May she get the help that she needs.

Great video. Thanks Ron Howard, Andy Griffith and Henry Winkler - loved the trip down nostalgia lane! And I don't think that Ron has to worry about his being concerned with being a directed director and movie maker. His integrity and abilities are quite obvious. Keep them coming, Ron. You are a true gem in the movie making industry.
