CA Prop 8 Unconstitutional Ruling Upheld

I think California should put a referendum on the ballot to end referendums being put on the ballot.

they want to take the number for qualification way up. to represent a statewide desire, not the ability of axe-grinders to get some signatures.

As a Californian, the problem I saw with Prop 8 was that is was worded in such a way that people who voted yes thought they were voting for the right for gays to marry. They did not realize that they needed to vote no. Prop 8 should have been voted down but passed due to voter error I'm afraid.

of proposition writers. I was recently handed a petition for a ballot initiative that pretended to be about abolishing the death penalty. But you had to read at least six sentences in before you got to the REAL point of the initiative - shifting death row inmates to life in prison, so they could WORK FOR NO MONEY. So instead of killing them, we'd make them lifelong slaves. I pointed this out to the petitioner and she had no idea that's what the thing was about. Even the people pushing these things don't read them!

better beef up the security at the Cailifornia graveyards. Salt Lake will be sending out crews to get more Golden State zombies in their heaven. Baptise the dead jurists, then they will have a few hundred celestial judges on kolab to help with their next try.

proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in california, and to officially reclassify their relationships and families as inferior to those of opposite-sex couples

Is no one gutsy enough to pull the trigger, is that what is going on? When your decision is so strongly worded as to effectively say "you people are bigots and are only doing this to hurt homosexuals, so piss off", why keep kicking the can down the road and leaving the effect of Prop 8 intact?

Just imagine how uncomfy the right wing Clowns will be when they are faced with this stark constitutional dilemma. If they put their stamp on oppressing gays, they will go down in history as the most radically bigoted court in the last two centuries.
