Focus On The Family Compares Obama To Nazis

Two days after Obama and the Democratic Party won a ringing 7 million refusal of rightwing fearmongering and hate, the extreme right are unrepentant and none the wiser. Smintheus at Unbossed writes:

This evening James Dobson's Focus on the Family Action sent out a fundraising email to members that likened the victories of Barack Obama and congressional Democrats in Tuesday's election to the Nazi bombing of England during World War II. The author of this vile letter is Tom Minnery, Senior Vice President of Focus on the Family Action. It was nearly inevitable that anger over losing the 2008 election would soon provoke right-wing extremists to violate Godwin's Law. Obama's victory in Colorado may have been particularly galling for the Colorado Springs based Focus on the Family, which has been heavily involved in the political campaign this year advocating for conservative issues. James Dobson personally endorsed the McCain-Palin ticket this fall.

Focus on the Family has not so far posted this hateful fundraising letter on the web. Here is the opening section of the letter:

Dear Friend,

The spirit of Winston Churchill was alive and well on Tuesday night at Focus on the Family Action headquarters.

You may recall that in the most desperate days of World War II – when Great Britain was being pounded daily by Hitler’s Luftwaffe – that Winston Churchill called on his countrymen not to despair from danger but to rise to the challenge.

It goes on in exactly the same vein, saying that:

Our nation has never faced the kind of anti-family, pro-abortion assault that we’re likely to see in the coming weeks and months. We don’t have to guess what the Left will do now that they control Congress and the White House; they’ve told us.

What are FoF so upset about? Freedom of choice, freedom of marriage and legislation to combat discrimination against gays in the workplace. The last, according to FoF, will be an assault on FoF members' religious freedom. Nice of them to state so clearly that theirs is a path of bigotry.

Obama has their number.

To formally revoke "Focus on the Family's" tax-exemption status. And if they're afraid of losing their status, making comments like this about Obama is not the way to go, considering the IRS and the Justice Department will be under competent leadership that can order investigations and impose penalties for violations of all sorts of IRS and FEC laws.

Take away their tax expemption? Fine. But take the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's, too.

commonsense2032's picture

The political junkie above is the reason we have our constitution. Focus on the Family has every right to voice there opinion and be involved in the political process as any individual or other tax exempt entity does. You just dont agree with them, and thats why you want them silenced. (THE NAZIS WANTED THE SAME THING BY THE WAY) The constitution does not contain the phrase "separation of church and state", it does say the goverment shall have nothing to do with the affairs of the church, not the other way around. I do not agree with any of the extreem left wing non profits, but I would never want to take away there right to voice there opinion. THATS FREE SPEACH

That's funny because the Bush Family has actual ties to Nazi's. But I guess they don't want to deal with that.

... to remember the story of Elijah, who went into the wilderness in search of God. The wind blew around him, but God's voice was not to be heard. The rain fell, the thunder boomed, and the lightning flashed - still, God's voice was not to be heard.

And then, in the moment of quiet after the storm, came the faintest whisper ... and that was the voice of God.

So when the jackbooted Christofascists over at Focus on the Family rant and rave, it's clear to me they're neither talking FOR God, or OF God.

In the end, the two of them manage to destroy the entire house, save a doorknob left in Daffy's hand as the entire structure explodes into splinters and Daffy yells something to the effect of,"I got him now, I got him now!! Hey, bub! YOU NEED A NEW HOUSE TO GO WITH THIS DOORKNOB!!!!"

Now, if the GOP were serious (though it appears that they have changed their mind) about making Palin the centerpiece of the future of the party, I could make a joke about Palin, doorknobs and everyone having a turn, but I am a gentleman.

Karen's picture

The Focus on the Family Fear of Freedom crowd are especially bitter this time around. After all, one of their own was on the losing ticket. Not just someone ostensibly on their side or someone willing to pander to them. In Sarah Palin, they had the genuine article.

The evil Dobson, one of the agents of intolerance to whom John McCain so quickly sold his soul, was highly influential in the ill-fated Palin pick. I'm sure he was beginning to taste the theocracy.

Remember that, everyone! Remember how close they came! And look at how many tens of millions of people voted for McCain, a large fraction of which were hoping he would die during his term.

Know Knothing Knation is huge. It will not go away. It won many battles Tuesday night against gay people. It will always seek power here. Never forget it.

Dobson and these very scary, but presntly pretty toothless people are all they have left. It's going to take more than a few months to fix the major problem with this party....not diversity. the religious right was dramatically folding at the end of the Clinton administration. For at least 25 years prior to that time, they'd been politically working for and dreaming about the day when America would become a theocracy. It was a carefully-planned strategy, beginning with religious rightwingers getting elected to school boards to affect what was taught in the schools. Then came the rest, including entry into big-time mainstream politics.

But if they were really folding and getting resigned to returning to their marginal status, what happened?

GW Bush happened. He, with his messianic hubris and his faith-based programs, energized the religious right as nothing had since the beginning of the movement.

Let us work to marginalize the radical religious right in the next few decades. Religion is a private matter, not meant in America to be a political platform. We should be able to de-fang the "religious" serpents of hell in the next eight years. America needs to return to Constitutional values, not religious values.

to simply become POLITICAL PARTIES. Would help solve the problem of the complainers to the two-party system. Plus, since hatred is their specialty, they should be used to battles.

CommonSense:

let these faux-religious bigoted zealots cry about whatever they want to cry about. I say we just ignore them and marginalize them.

Ignoring them will strengthen them. They are highly organized. They are so deadly serious about what they want, and if we are not constantly paying attention, they're moves will gobsmack us.

I'm not saying we need to treat them as legitimate players. Just that we need to pay attention, and warn people about them. We ignore them at our peril.

A vast majority of Americans have woken up and realize that people like Dobson are not Christian leaders but rather EXTREMIST leaders, and as such they should be ignored and laughed at when appropriate.

A vast majority? I don't think so. Know Knothing Knation represents an extremely large portion of this country. And while Obama's victory was cathartic, it wasn't that large in terms of the popular vote. Make no mistake, millions were voting purely against McCain, and tens of millions were voting for Sarah Palin.

Their followers are such sorry sorry people, i feel so badly for any children that are swept up in the cult-like mentality of these zealots..

Indeed, it is because of the mind-control this giant cult has over its followers that we cannot ignore them. There is no talking with them. There is no reasoning with them. And they will regroup.

Eternal vigilance is imperative.

Canada Dave's picture

Time to wake up, Obahhhhhma sheeple.

Obama is playing you, betraying you already with his first appointment, Rhal Emanuel, who wants to restrict free speech with bills like the Homeland Terrorist Act, is considered Israel's man in Washington according to Israeli newspapers and who is as bloodthirsty and as much a warmonger as Bush ever was. He also wants a one million strong Homeland Security Force, as does Obama, along the lines of Fascist Italy prior to World War 2.

And Obama was supposed to bring us together, but Mr. Emanuel is about as hardcore democrat as you can get. Which is good. He'll likey offend conservative democrats which will lead to divided government. Just like Jimmy Carter.

A Rolling Stone profile of Emanuel had this to say:

"There's the story of how, the night after Clinton was elected, Emanuel was so angry at the president's enemies that he stood up at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign, grabbed a steak knife and began rattling off a list of betrayers, shouting 'Dead! . . . Dead! . . . Dead!' and plunging the knife into the table after every name. 'When he was done, the table looked like a lunar landscape,' one campaign veteran recalls. 'It was like something out of The Godfather.'"

I know many of you wanted change, but you may regret the change that unfolds. As Joe Biden stated, prior to the election, Obama's popularity will plummet as he implements "sound but unpopular" economic policies -- can you say massive austerity measures and no tax breaks -- and the US is drawn into a "contrived crisis" where the US moral position is questionable -- can you say war on Iran or Pakistan?

And, oh ya, the trillions to Wall Street banks will continue, and you will be given the tax bill. And your children, and grandchildren.

The elite are back into power, just under a different brand. That is why America is failing today, there is no real choice in elections. And I am actually pleased Obama was elected: once he is shown to be the Wall Street Toady he always has been, people are going to have to look more seriously at what is going on. Both "major" parties are wings of the same party, the war party, and you democrat supporters just handed the war party the keys to the White House again. He even voted for the FISA provisions -- when he said he would fillibuster -- and was instrumental in getting the Banker Bailout bill passed, and not one of you even bleated once. You are right ready to be completely sheared.

Enjoy the glow of getting your dictator presidential candidate into the White House, but I will be here to hold you accountable for what unfolds.

You would be happier with Moose-Girl and the Artful Codger?

Canada Dave's picture

I would be happier if it was becoming clearer to the Powers That Be that they can't play people off each other all the time so that they can place their puppet in power -- Democrat or Republican -- and run with that dead horse until eight years are up and they can switch another dead horse.

Today, the Powers That Be must be very pleased that not only did they get their puppet in power -- albiet with only 52% of the vote, hardly a majority considering Obama spent 4 times the money McCain did -- but they have a loyal core of useful idiots supporting him -- including all of the mainstream media, I might add -- prepared to give him a long honeymoon before they wake up to how much he has betrayed them.

The whole political system in the US needs deep reformation and cleansing of corruption, and that sure isn't going to happen with Obama.

There are the top two republican talking points I was waiting for from you.

1. Obama spent more money so, of course, he won.

2. The mainstream media supported him so, of course, he won.

Yeah, maple syrup, you're from Canada.

Canada Dave's picture

A) I never said that because he spent more money he won, only that he spent four times what McCain did and still only wound up with 52% of the vote, which is hardly an overwhelming mandate. BTW, I think McCain was there to lose, again the illusion of choice.

B) The mainstream media treats this guy like a messiah, which, if you study history, always preceeds a facist movement. The reconstruction of human beings and all that, the creation of the superman. You cannot deny that the media coverage of Obama has been nothing less than fawning.

If you wish to drop me into a category that allows you to negotiate life and simplify your decision making processes, so be it. I don't view it as an effective survival strategy. And it doesn't negate anything I have written so far.

I don't vote in your elections, because I am from Canada. But it sure is great reality TV. Sort of like "Are you smarter than a 5th Grader."

If America finally stands up and says enough, that might finally mean real change not just for America, but for the planet.

Kathy in St. Louis's picture

Well, we are certainly fortunate that we have a person with your insight, knowledge, maturity, and class to explain it all the the poor unfortunate, silly people who voted for Barack. I do think, however, that you might take another glance at some of the crowds that McCain/Palin drew before casting aspersions on Obama supporters. Some of them appeared to have been marrying their first cousins for several generations. That's never good for the gene pool.

Canada Dave's picture

Again, I never said McCain was any better, only that it is probably a good idea to hold your new dictator's president elect's feet to the fire rather than give him six months honeymoon or we may be thinking the Bush administation was "the good old days."

And if he does prove to be a Wall Street Toady, and he does continue -- as he did with FISA and the Bailout Banker's bill -- to betray his base, you all better start thinking outside of the box they are putting you in.

boocilla69's picture

I'm fascinated by your accusation of name calling and then you type dictator and cross it out and add president and you're not name calling? You don't like Obama, you don't like McCain, your concern is odd.

No one here needs to explain to you why they voted for
whomever they voted. It's absolutely none of your business. And, you have an unusual emotional
investment in the outcome of this election for someone
who supposedly does not live here.

Please don't come here and act like you're some kind of
expert on what we are experiencing and that you have a
very clear future view of how Obama will act in office
and then get offended when people take offense to your clearly negative and one-sided view.

While you are welcome to provide your opinion and when done in a respectful and gracious manner you will likely
not get an FU, I for one, am very offended when you come
on to a site that caters to Democrats, call the man that
we supported a dictator and then get all pissy when
people call you out on it. And, make the blanket statement of all Obama supporters behaving that way.

None of us truly know how he will conduct himself.
You think you have a very clear idea of EXACTLY how his
term will flow and I happen to think you are wrong.
That does not make me stupid because I don't agree with
you and think that your assessment is inaccurate, that
means our opinions differ.

Perhaps in the future, you will be a little more accommodating when the people who actually live these things and have a very real investment in the situation are put off by your very strong words on something that,
in the end, you're clearly sitting in the stands observing.

Bonkers's picture

Bankrupt Wall Street by making derivatives and credit default swaps and other toxic financial instrument illegal.

Nationalize the Fed and loan money to anyone who has assets that produce wealth in the real economy as well as start building badly needed infrastructure projects throughout the US along the lines of the New Deal which was a Democratic President's program and got him elected 4 times.

Lower taxes initially for the first year at least to stimulate spending. Kennedy, another Democrat president, cut taxes by 50% when he was in power and the tax base exploded due to all the spending in the real economy.

Impeach Bush and Cheney -- today -- and jail anyone else implicated by their crimes (like Pelosi and Reid, amoungst others.) Roll back things like the Patriot Act, FISA and the John Warner Defence Act. And get back to respecting your constitution, which I have a great deal of respect for.

Stop the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq immediatly and begin bringing troops home from overseas. That will save you trillions.

We need to archive all these things that Dobson supports and the people he features and run our own Jeremiah Wright ads in 2012 when Palin or Romney or whoever runs on the republican ticket, since the republican candidate will surely run to Colorado Springs to kiss the ring of Papa D.

More on Dobson's Monday show and Laurence White here

If any of you are serious about filing tax exempt status complaints with the IRS, please make sure to include the state taxing authority. For Dobson, this would be the Colorado State Tax Commission. Also, since churches pay no property taxes, a complaint should be filed with whatever County agency is responsible for property taxes in Colorado Springs.

Make sure you find out what IRS tax exempt code their ministry falls under through their website and site that code number in your complaint.

Good luck.

I'm seriously going to try. I will keep all records and copies for the ACLU.

According to their tax return, they are a California Corporation.

They also have Focus on the Family Action (page 17 of the tax return pdf file) which is a 501(c) 4 and is described in Statement 22 of the tax return.

Here is the link to all of their financial reports and tax returns:

I have bookmarked this for further study. These people can be beaten I believe in the pocketbook.

CMINCA's picture

I hope you are right. I'm always amazed at what politics pass through these exempt organizations.

During the 04 campaign, an Episcopal minister posed a question as to which candidate better exemplefied the teachings of Jesus. He didn't state a preference, yet he was badgered for months by the IRS (via the Bush administration), which this blatant support and pressure to vote all things Republican goes unfettered.

Bitter Bud Hussein's picture

If I were British I would be bloody damn offended by this comparison.

These people are certifiable...

(in thousands) So revenues of 146,900 are actually 146,900,000.

CMINCA's picture

Focus on the Family (FOF) is a non-denominational religious organization
whose primary objective is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ by helping to
preserve traditional values and the institution of the family. The primary means
of accomplishing these goals are radio broadcasts, periodicals, books, films,
videos, internet and events that share the message with constituents, schools,
churches and the public at large in the United States, as well as around the
world. The primary sources of revenue are contributions from individuals,
businesses and foundations, and sales of books and audio-visual materials.
FOF is organized as a nonprofit religious corporation under the laws of
California and operates under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
and is not a private foundation under Section 509(a).

anney's picture

Focus on the Family does NOT spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, who had very little to say about "traditional values" except to excoriate them and "the institution of the family". He spoke about forgiveness and mercy and helping the poor and setting oneself right with God, not entering politics.

FoF is an organization using religion as a cover for its political proselytizing.

PS. Pardon my rant -- it looks as if you were giving us information, not championing FoF.

CMINCA's picture

This is THEIR language from THEIR financial statements.

LeftandLeft's picture

In July 1998, Focus on the Family had a large women's conference(they occupied four ballrooms) for a week at the Chicago hotel I was working at for an entire week. The ladies(mostly middle aged and older) were very nice and polite during their stay. At night though, we experienced the greatest demand for porno movies by room that we ever had. I have no problem with what people do in their personal lives, unless it contradicts their expectations of me.

boocilla69's picture

What kind of porn, any and all?
Girl on girl? A little inter-racial action?
What were their fancies?

These people really amuse me.

It is the 7Th of November, a short 3 days from the historic election where the United States elected a black man as president. I am already sick and tired of the fringe wet blankets howling that "surprise" he is not Ralph Nader He is not going to reek revenge on all of the horrible corporations and he will not be as liberal as the fringe hopes. I have been hearing that the Democrats are just the same as the Republicans so many times and from so many places that I have developed a groan reflex. STOP IT! JUST STOP IT! Enough! If you want to be a permanent loony left without any political power then your on the right track.

JonMarc's picture

To all those on these boards and elsewhere who think those on the right like Dobson are going away or that their movement is dying need to think again.
The passage of Prop 8 gave them renewed hope. Watch for them to "focus" less on abortion and more on gays.
You see, had Prop 8 failed, it might have been the final body blow to a movement on the brink. But instead it passed and gave them just the encouragement they need to move forward to ensure that gays are second class citizens for years to come.

And to those that mention their tax exempt status. Again you are mistaken. Those clever snakes thought of that too. That's why, whenever they are discussing politics they do it under their PAC, Focus on the Family Action, a non-tax exempt arm of their ministry.

The way we win against these people is to make them more known than they are now. Study their every move, publish their beliefs from every corner of media. Don't ignore them. Instead make them into D-list celebrities using their own words against them

Karen's picture

Right on, JonMarc!

Everyone is equally entitled to the pursuit of happiness. Wasn't that once self evident?

CMINCA's picture

True, but all of the abortion, definition of a human life type props failed.

I, for one, am sick of Prop 4 (parental consent). It has been on our ballot FOUR times and failed each and every time.

You are right, even in defeat they don't give up.

JonMarc's picture

I said that they will focus less on abortion and more on gays. These people may be stupid but they know how to vilify people. So now, we vilify back, in ways they have never seen before to the point that they will pray for the good ole days when they were simply laughed at.

Karen's picture

CMINCA,

With California's bonkers initiative and referendum system, why should they give up? California is a complete governmental mess at this point. Paradox at the Left Coaster has a good article on it.

We have a term-limited legislature, full of rookies who have no clue about how to escape the influence of people behind the scenes, coupled with the ability to amend the Constitution by a simple majority of voting voters.

In California, we have something worse than a tyranny of the majority. We have a tyranny of the ostensible majority. One day, that abortion nonsense will slip through unnoticed, with a majority vote in an election in which barely anyone voted at all.

Everyone is equally entitled to the pursuit of happiness. Wasn't that once self evident?

Exactly. And when the courts rule such as unconstitutional, their response is: change the constitution.

What needs to be called out / called to the public's attention is what these people really stand for. A look at the comments thread of my local paper is chock-full of religious right types telling us to 'get over it' and 'respect the vote' (which they never do with things like Proposition 4), and 'hah! Now we can take x away from teh gay!'

constituent's picture

your correct. revealing exposure is the correct strategy. exposure has a way of quenching these extreme
views at least dilute them. of course this is why they use deception and secrecy to further their cause/vision. much like BUSH ran his admnistration with secrecy and deception. let the media and other
church leaders expose them for what they are.in some cases we can also kill them with kindness. they hate
that but it's effective. we can't make them go away but we can reduce their numbers.

Canada Dave's picture

True, Harper ran an election about nothing, just as the US ran an election that accomplished nothing. I voted, for an independent candidate. Harper didn't get a majority which would have been a disaster, I believe. Still, just like in the US, really, there were no real choices, no real discussion of issues and we still don't have a government that represents the people here. Just the illusion that the government serves us. (We're easier to control that way if we feel we selected our prime minister.)

I'm doing what I can here, which is mostly educate people and offer different points of view. But the US can do way more damage to the world than Canada could even imagine, and seeing as soon -- after they implode the economy and put the bankers in charge of the world financial system, I think men like Gordon Brown refer to it as a New World Order -- we all be one happy gulag called the North American Union, I believe I have a stake in what happens in the US even if I am not able to vote there.

So I make my presence felt when and where I can, even and especially at hostile sites like this one where if you raise any negative questions about the Democratic party you are decried as either a Republican, a troll or someone who deserves to be killed.

Elections today are truly just entertainment and the illusion of choice. It may be uncomfortable to realize that, but realize we must.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/33...

Once elected, they are lowering expectations already. You watch. That aching in your back is the knife they are plunging between your shoulder blades.

Exactly, bring the monsters out into the light, shine as much of it into their bigotted faces. They will wilt under so much exposure. You are right about the self righteous, they always have a dark side. Church by day/porn by night. It is not hard to scratch the surface of these people. It's psychology 101. Those who publicly espouse extreme self righteousness are trying to cover up their evil dark side. Like the high rate of teenage pregnancies. That family focus organisation are probably a bunch of group fornicators. I saw one article, I'm not sure where, that McCain has a mistress called Vicky Isleman(?) anyone now anything about this?

Vicky Iseman was a lobbyist for Alcade & Fay, and worked with McCain on issues.

There is no proof that any improper relationship existed, though Iseman made a point of specifically denying that she had sex with McCain. (Kind of reminds you of, "I did not have sex with that woman.")

As an agnostic atheist I believe politicians should not be addressing religion in any format.

Religion should inform one's thinking, not replace one's thinking.

The way I look at it, God didn't give me a brain, the ability to reason, and a facility with words just so I could worship Jimmy Dobson.

When reality finally gets to Colo. Springs (later than sooner) hopefully it will be too late. As bigotry, hate and intolerance wield their ugly head from this group of bigots, shades of the 1960's KKK lynching, riots, indiscriminate burnings, etc. continue to come closer and closer to reality.

It's a shame that folks have lost the ability to think for themselves instead of following these nutbags but stupidity dies hard and it will take generations for this lunacy to go away... If we just ignore them it will get worse...

When people talk about anti-family and anti-life, I assumed they're talking about the repub controlled congress/WH/SC and the capitualting demo congress that we experienced for the past 8 years. They gave away trillions of dollars to big business; it would have been easier to outlaw abortion, gayness, and the letter R. They had their chance, and they didn't take it, even though they promised they would. Why does *that* not outrage these people?

F on the F lost on a LOT on Tuesday, to wit:

1. Amendment 48, which would have defined life as beginning at the moment of conception. It went down by a nearly 3-1 margin. The amendment was started by a home-schooled, online college law student who has no real-life experience outside of her church.

2. The same Tom Minnery sent out a letter to voters in my district, asking us to support rabid-winger (and homophobe) Lauri Clapp, a former state legislator who was being targeted by OHNOES Tim Gill, a multimillionare (and who is gay) who has been very generous to Democrats in this state. As of today, Clapp is behind her opponent, Democrat Linda Newell, by less than 100 votes - the race is headed to automatic recount. When I got the letter, I thought "I really don't care if Clapp is on Gill's it-list, but that Tom Minnery is asking me to support Clapp is enough to vote against her." It really didn't matter since I had voted two weeks earlier. Clapp is a bigot and one of the nastiest people I've ever seen at the Colorado state capitol - a female John McCain. Or Sarah Palin.

Evangelicals belong to a cult.

TV evangelists like Dobson simply have better snake oil salesmanship skills. Dobson is smart enough not to let his sexual activities or proclivities become public knowledge (I'd love to see his hooker hush money expenses), and was never dumb enough to ask his ministry for millions of dollars or God would call him home.

Vote GOP and move forward to the 18th Century.

A must watch (and a must read) for anyone concerned about the power and abuses of power by the religious right.

I'd started to read Hedges' book and it just set my teeth to grinding - not because of Hedges' views, but because of what he was describing. It's the kind of read that leaves you feeling like you need a shower.

I consider myself as liberal as they come -- hell, I may as well be a socialist -- but I'm also a big fan of Churchill. I've read thousands of pages by him and about him, and I know he could make some big mistakes. He could also be loyal to a fault.
But he was always trying to do the right thing for reasons he thought were good and true. These guys are perverting his memory for the worst reasons, without understanding, and completely removed from decency, honesty and integrity. Winston left his party when he knew it was wrong, and he stood alone when he knew he was right, but he never tried to bring down the government when he had an opportunity to help it.

Because Michael Savage, a right wing radio blowhard who has fascist leanings, is a rabid racist, homobobe, and victim of mental illness.

Savage routinly calls liberals Nazis, racists and mentally ill. (one would think he's describing himself)
It classic projection- when right wingers don't have facts, they make them up, and resort to character assasination.

Someday soon, all former rethuglicans will be able to see that by giving James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, and Pat Robertson, et al, a forum destroyed their party.
Barry Goldwater warned them that the worst thing the party could do was to allow the religious right hypocrites a hand in their party. They are getting what they deserve.

They've become soft. They can count on 40% of the evangelical/"church" hate vote, and generally the rich. So all they've needed to do is play the fear card, and get a 50.1% majority. In essence, they've been able to get about a 10% reasonably sane vote, mostly older people, "white" people, and the uneducated.

That's not working any more. See election results.

Dobson and Focus on the Family. They will make a mint in fundraising from the entire spectrum of the "Ain't it Awful?" crowd. They have used Democrats as the evil Satan for years to good advantage. I'm sure Dobson will be able to build a new wing on to his house with the non-taxable funds he will raise with this venom.

Because they see that many of their "believers" have seen the light and voted Obama. No longer acting like SHEEP, they are leaving these mega-churches of mega-hate.

Dobson is getting lonely and will soon need a night light.

His "church" and other like it need to lose their tax exempt status immediately. As does the Mormon church.

Enough of Right wing Christian hate! Enough!

Trittydi's picture

Let's not forget this secret meeting between McCain's campaign and the ultra right (including Dobson and Norquist).

So Dobson spent a couple of days licking his wounds and then went back to the business of being one of the most poisonous and vitriolic out-of-control reich-wingers on the national stage.

What he now understands is that re-Thuglics will not view the ultra-conservative wing of their party as "all-powerful" for a very, very long time - if ever again.

That's gotta hurt. I'm smiling.
