Glenn Beck jokes about putting poison in Nancy Pelosi's wine

Glenn Beck had a glass of wine with Nancy Pelosi last night.
Of course, it wasn't actually Pelosi. It was some poor Fox employee made to sit across the desk from Beck with a cardboard Pelosi mask, holding a glass of juice of some kind that was serving as a stand-in for wine.
It was all meant to spoof Pelosi for supposedly listening only to "millionaire contributors" instead of her constituents.
But then he tossed in a little "joke":
Beck: I just want you to drink it. Drink it. [Laughs] Drink it! I really just wanted to thank you for having us over here to wine country. You know, to be invited, I thought you had to be a major Democratic donor or longtime friend of yours, which I'm not. Oh, ah, by the way, I put poison in your -- no I --
Funny, it seems like only a couple of days ago Beck was imploring his viewers not to resort to acts of violence. (It was.) And now he's encouraging violence by joking about poisoning the Speaker of the House.

Beck should be arrested and charged with murder threats. Hopefully he'll spend a few days in jail. FOX, and Murdoch should be HEAVILY fined for their allowing, or rather encouraging this vicious behavior.

When he told his viewers not to turn to their guns it was just after that lady with all the guns had been arrested at the military base. She was a big beck believer. So if someone poisons someone or tries to, he'll be saying his viewers should not turn to poison but turn to god.

That is the third time in the last three weeks Beck should have been arrested and charged for. The Head of his network should be in jail as well for allowing such swill.

I'd say that FOX should be investigated for making (being actually) illegal contributions to the Republican party considering that there broadcast is the equivalent of a 24/7 political ad (except that it doesn't conform to the standards for those either.)
Call each 20 seconds of broadcast time one ad = equals one criminal charge. Taking into consideration actual paid for ads and station IDs, that's about 80 charges per hour. I believe there's a limit on the time before any given election that this applies.

I thought it was interesting that when he made his racist comments about Obama on Fox and Friends the other day, he sounded like he was posing a question. Did anyone else catch that? He could get around all the criticism by saying "Hey, I was just asking a question".
I like comedy as much as anyone else and if Bill Hicks was talking about poisoning Nancy Pelosi, well that's one thing, but Hicks didn't host a cable program with millions of viewers. Everytime I see Beck make one of his jokes, I just take it with a grain of salt and say to myself, "he's just doing a bit", but then I have to remind myself what his platform is and how dangerous and irresposible it is for Fox to keep him in his position.

Why does Fox Snooz hate America?
In 2003 I worked for Clear Channel Communications (I was a board op for their talk station). (Clear Channel are the people that put Rush Limbaugh among others on the air in every community in America. They also own a lot of top 40 stations among others. Typically six of the biggest stations in your town are owned and operated by Clear Channel).
At that time before the Iraq war there was a lot of buzz about it. We had meetings in which it was told to us that it was a sure thing. Promos were made using music from films like Navy Seals and stock sounds of helicopters and small arms fire, along with patriotic music I think they used one of the guys from the news room to do the voice over stuff. We had several of these war promos (like: get the latest from us and be tuned in here for the best coverage or whatever) but we also had these intros that were to be played the second the word came down that the war had started. Then we were to switch things over to an ABC news feed. It was treated exactly like a massive entertainment event, the only difference being that we didn't know when it would start. We were on constant edge for a couple weeks. Eventually we got a time table and everyone relaxed.
I know this is unnecessary back story but it fascinates me to this day that I was able to be there and witness this. Had I not told the GM when I was being interviewed that I was a big fan of Glen Beck and listened to him daily (which I did) I would not have been there. The only people who weren't republicans were in the news room and who knew what they were, they never said. But I do know that they spent their days looking at the feeds coming in from the AP and picking the most frivolous ET news and bs and ignoring anything that was counter to the message of Bush and co.
In the spring we held a rally in support of the war. I can't remember what it was called, probably a "Freedom Rally" though it was in reality nothing more than a corporate sanctioned pro war rally. There, people with a love of American flag themed clothing could come together and enjoy mediocre entertainment and show their support for military invasions. The event was held outdoors, there was a stage and a large field and that was it, admission was free. A few hundred people showed up after weeks of promotions on the radio. Glen Beck was flown in to make an appearance. The thing that bothered me was his sense of superiority and aloofness. I remember that he arrived in a limo which I personally found grotesque. Among a crowd of people with a median income of $20,000 speaking in support of military invasions and the guy basically wants the works, shows up in an f-ing limo. I know it took me a long time to get there and I'm sorry if its anti-climactic but that whole time at the radio station was very strange and surreal to me and I just longed to share it.

In the late '60s, both my father and uncle were at the prime age to end up in Nam. Thanks to grandpa's connections as an Air Force LT COL, they miraculously got into the Air Guard and Army Guard, respectively. They have both lived quiet, peaceful, relatively prosperous lives since then. They are both rabid pro-war pro-Bush Fox News propaganda aficionados, and of course can't see any conflict between what they did then (or didn't do) and what they shriek in favor of now.
Unsurprisingly, I no longer have anything to do with either of them.
