O'Reilly, Carpenter deride Presente Action's defense of Sotomayor as a 'tentacle of MoveOn'
It's kind of funny how Bill O'Reilly can benignly declare a nakedly nativist organization like the Minutemen, despite a clear proclivity for attracting racists and violent extremists, "in the great tradition of neighborhood watch groups" -- and indeed assiduously decline to report on it when the violent evidence at hand makes clear they are much, much more than that.
And then he can turn around, as he did last night on The O'Reilly Factor -- assisted by his "internet cop" Amanda Carpenter -- and attack a relatively benign advocacy organization like Presente Action, a project of Color of Change, whose purpose revolves around providing an effective voice on the Web for minorities.
What has his goat, of course, is their campaign to defend Sonia Sotomayor by pointing out the prominent role played by hatemongers like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly. So he dismisses them as merely a "tentacle" of MoveOn.org and the "radical left."
Funny how that standard is a one-way street in O'Reillyland.
You have to wonder if maybe he, like Jeff Sessions, believes that "Empathy for one party is always prejudice against another".

Another example of his one-sided analysis: I noticed that Jon Voight was on Hannity's show last night.....he's been on there frequently. Who the heck is Jon Voight to be giving political commentary? O'Reilly routinely bashes liberal actors like George Clooney because of their political statements, calling them the "Hollywood elite." Why the heck doesn't he bash Voight for expressing his political beliefs? Why doesn't he make up a new name for Voight's type, such as "Hollywood conservative elites?"
I'm not sure why Presente Action is targeting congressman Mica, other than the fact that Limbaugh does have his studio in Florida....although I think that's in West Palm Beach, not in Mica's district. Perhaps they were mistaken about the location of limpball's studio, or maybe they know something we don't about the secret location.

Here's a thought, give these scared older white folks (includes me some, but don’t put me in the same basket, I’m Atheist and Progressive as they come) guarantees like government sponsored Health Care and assured Social Security benefits and working LAW and take away the Republican bugaboos and you have a road to a better and changing society. No denying the demographics of changing populations. I see it as fear of the unknown future and fear of losing power and control more than anything else for a lot of the older white folks. Of course there is the hard core racist that nothing will placate or fix. Nothing that progressive legislation in a working, functioning government could not fix, but OH! we do not have a progressive working government.
