The man who assassinated Dr. George Tiller says that more violence awaits pro-choice clinics. That's an ominous threat coming from the right wing religious fanatic that has acted out on violent views. We should be very, very afraid...

Huff Post:

The man charged with murdering a high-profile abortion doctor claimed from his jail cell Sunday that similar violence was planned around the nation for as long as the procedure remained legal, a threat that comes days after a federal investigation launched into his possible accomplices.

A Justice Department spokesman said the threat was being taken seriously and additional protection had been ordered for abortion clinics last week. But a leader of the anti-abortion movement derided the accused shooter as "a fruit and a lunatic."

Scott Roeder called The Associated Press from the Sedgwick County jail, where he's being held on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault in the shooting of Dr. George Tiller one week ago.

"I know there are many other similar events planned around the country as long as abortion remains legal," Roeder said. When asked by the AP what he meant and if he was referring to another shooting, he refused to elaborate further.

Poor Roeder says he's cold in jail. I wish Dr. Tiller had the chance to feel anything, but since President Obama was elected, the violence that is coming out of the fringe far right is real and scary. Watch out, people.

So now will the right admit this guy is a terrorist? Also why does this sh*t only happen during Dem administrations? It's not like abortion hasn't been legal for the past 8 years.

I'm not a Christian, but suffice to say it's gonna be warm enough for you in hell. Don't take a coat.

"We should be very, very afraid."

Why this obsession on both sides of the political divide to market fear? Whatever happened to "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself"?

We should fight these extremists fearlessly, with diligence.

...prosecution of those who incite them.

In a public forum or TV broadcast?

Living in fear is no way to live! F**k these religious kooks! They don't have the guts to fight face to face, so they ambush unarmed people.

If that happens, I'm not going to realize it anyway, so why worry? Refusing to be intimidated by cowards and their terrorist tactics will be their undoing.

Now, time to hunt these american taliban down!

You write: "Living in fear is no way to live! F**k these religious kooks! They don't have the guts to fight face to face, so they ambush unarmed people."

Interesting. Ambushing unarmed people. Ever thought about that in regard to Tiller's practice of "ambushing unarmed" babies to the tune of 60,000?

Not justifying Tiller's Killer - he stooped down to the same level he pretends to disdain. But why not apply the same standard to both parties? After all who is more helpless, Tiller or the babies he ambushed?

Furthermore - aren't you now resorting to the same logic Roeder resorted to? "Now it's time hunt down these American Taliban." Hmmm. A little consistency please.

Where is DHS on these "clear and present dangers" here in the Homeland?

Homeland sounds a lot like Fatherland to me.

What are we supposed to "watch out" for?

What are we supposed to "watch out" for?

**************************

The blob or the thing or the mist or something. Whatever you do... don't drop that fear and paranoia...

Keep watching the skies!!

LOL! A TRUE BELLY LAUGH!!!

will call for Roeder to be waterboarded to provide actionable intelligence to prevent further tragedy.

Right after Manatee is waterboarded and collects his thousand bucks.

Come one, why aren't are waterboarding this guy huh? We could save lives if we waterboarded this guy!

This sounds so familiar.....

I wonder if the torture apologists will call this a "ticking time bomb" scenario?

An insanity defense. The proper term is "terroristic threats."

[Comment Deleted By Administration For Violation Of Terms Of Service]

They interviewed the attorney who has been assigned to defend this POS and the guy looked like he was so frustrated with what his client is doing and saying. I wouldn't want his job dealing with this idiot.

not in control of his senses...poor man.

He needs compassion not persecution...the poor man.

Don't worry Roeder. Pretty soon the fellas will keep you quite warm.

how unappealing he looks in that orange jailhouse jumpsuit.

Killing an unarmed man in church. What a brave an valiant warrior he is, huh?

First, HuffPo has devolved into a rag. Notice how the term "Abortion doctor" is used? The right wing meme is alive and well and has infested this site.

Dr. Tiller was an expert in Women's Reproductive Health. If you've by any chance read the comments on Legacy.com for his obit, you will see it is loaded with thousands of comments from people who REQUIRED CARE in a life or death health situation.

I encourage all to read them. It is apparent who the real murderers are.

Interestesting and valid points- when we allow the right wing to pick our vocubulary, we hand them a victory...

You give even more fuel to the right's fire by running away from the word abortion. Are you suggesting that the abortions he conducted that had nothing to do with the health of the mother were murder? Sure sounds like it to me--sounds like you're afraid to say what it is. It's why I prefer to not hide from the term: Abortion on Demand and Without Apology. Otherwise, you end up sounding like you basically agree with the right but are too scared to admit it.

However I totally respect a woman's right to complete independence regarding her body, and the fact that men like me have nothing at stake whatever the choice she makes, and it's the fucking law!

BTW, we need to stop worrying and concerning ourselves with what these law breaking, murderous right wing psychopaths think anyway.

age in school (see The Nederlands), abortion wouldn't be a necessity in the numbers we see today.

In Holland, age appropriate sex ed starts at kindergarten, and progresses. It's uncool to fuck bareback over there, because you grow up learning about consequences. Indoctrination, actually. Masturbation, kissing, sexual touching, all is discussed, and kids know they have someone to go to for help. I saw a 60 minutes segment on it years ago. At the time, the Dutch had 4 in 1000 accidental (or unwanted) pregnancies to our 40 in 1000. One girl who got pregnant apologised to her teacher and wanted him to know it wasn't that he taught her poorly, just that she and her bf f'd up.

But these fucking religious assholes want their cake and not only to eat it, but to smear it all over themselves as well. No sex ed, other than 'don't do it', punishment for slutty girls, high fives for successful poon hunters and no abortion. Basically a "My way or the highway" approach.

I think you need to sort out how you feel about this a bit more...

You're post perfectly illustrates what I was getting at.

By falling back on "it's the law" it sounds to me like you wish it weren't or that you are troubled by it or something. Because there are plenty of bad laws--just because it's the law doesn't mean it's a good law or even a law people should respect.

And again, this is why the right does hold a considerable amount of power on this issue--a lot of people (on the left) are troubled by abortions.

So pick a side and then stick to it--because the wishy washy middle is a vote against choice and more importantly a vote against abortion.

.

... the fact that men like me have nothing at stake whatever the choice she makes...

Utter hooey. Men might not have *as much* at stake as the woman but to suggest men have "nothing" at stake is pure malarkey.

I've only had to participate in THE decision once in my life (and fortunately I was allowed to participate) and it was way more grueling than I had ever thought possible (being profoundly pro-choice). When confronted with the decision to take the life of the fetus it was nowhere near as easy as I thought it would be, a million scenarios went through my head, none of them getting any better than the previous.

At a minimum men are correctly asked to foot the bill for these little effing miracles so to suggest that we have no stake in the outcome of the decision is just incorrect.

Use condoms.

having been duped and nearly guilted into keeping an unwanted pregnancy more than once, I cannot for the life of me see how any man or any other person besides the woman carrying the fetus could feel anything whatsoever regarding the decision to terminate the pregnancy or carry to term.

There is absolutely nothing at all at stake outside the woman's life. It is a fetus and it is the woman's life. That is it. That is all. Anything else is crap in someone else's head that has no business interfering with someone else's life.

.

...I cannot for the life of me see how any man or any other person besides the woman carrying the fetus could feel anything whatsoever regarding the decision to terminate the pregnancy or carry to term.

If you mean having the "final say" then I certainly agree with you, if you mean "no say whatsoever" then I disagree completely. I was 50% responsible for that fetus, I want at least some input into the decision making process but of course the final decision is hers.

Sorry about being duped, it's clearly shaded your perceptions as my experience has shaded mine.

that only affects women (i.e. denial of right to abortion) is on its face unconstitutional because it violates the Equal Protection Clause.

It is unfortinate that Roe v. Wade was not decided on these grounds.

How does it violate the Equal Protection clause?

I thought HuffPo was a great idea when it started, but now I can't stand it, simply because it's so very badly edited. There are typos galore, names are spelled wrong. Or maybe it's not edited at all. Ugh!

It's always been hard for me take that site seriously with all the TMZ/Perez Hilton celebrity garbage all over it. It's half politics, half National Enquirer over there. That's always been so bizarre to me.

First, HuffPo has devolved into a rag. Notice how the term "Abortion doctor" is used? The right wing meme is alive and well and has infested this site.

*******

On the other side of that coin, Amato seems scared of using the word abortion at all. What the hell is a "pro-choice clinic?" Are we ashamed of the word now because the righty howlers have demonized it? Chalk one up for the wingnuts.

...does more than offer abortions. Having worked in one many years ago, we offered birth control, advice, councelling, treatment for STDs and - yes - abortions. Amato is quite correct to use the term 'pro-choice' clinic, because that's what it is - a place where you're offered a choice, only one of them being abortion.

"Clearly you're honor the comments made by my client are clearly the rantings of a man not wholely in control of his senses and sensibilities, and I would urge the court to dismiss these proceedings so that my client can receive the professional care he so desperately needs." - Scott Roeder's Defense Attorney, speaking in the not too distant future.

'more violence'..........no kidding. we expect it. evangelicals care/have a passion for two issues: abortion
and same sex marriage. NO not war(s) where innocent people are killed. NO not hunger and disease. NO
not education. this clown is a hero. so obsessed with others to justify themselves...i'm sick of it. for some reason these people are of the belief that they have been given the right to judge others and decide how they will live their lives.

)O(

So what if they make abortion illegal.

As long as people like roeder think certain laws like murder can be violated in the name of idealism, what strength does any law have?

well said, ys.

Roeder grew up during the 'Baretta' era and I am sure he's familiar with the words to the theme song for same.
"Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

Where do these goons get off on deciding what a woman should or should not do with her body? The creeps are coming out in droves. Be ready for anything folks.

This guy is saying, if you don't believe all life is precious the way I do, then I'll kill you.

A Busy Bee was the dog toy lost by Parker Posey's character in
"Best of Show."

Thought I'd have a better chance catching you here.

Wow! Good thing you told me because I could have probably Googled my heart out and never found that out.

[Comment Deleted By Administration For Violation Of Terms Of Service]

Please no capital punishment! For the remainder of this coward criminal terrorist's fucked up existence he will learn forms of entertainment we could never imagine.

)O(

The trouble is he seems to be asking for it.

In Texas, if not elsewhere, they look to see if someone convicted of murder is a continuing threat before deciding to execute them.

We had one guy named Dr. Death, who according to whom, they were all continuing threats.

Obama calls it "preventative detention" but he doesn't kill em ...he just wants to detain them.

He wants his martyrdom. The tragedy is, one way or the other, he will be a martyr to the wingnuts that support him.

that was the sound of this terrorist's defense lawyer's head hitting the floor after learning that his 'client' was calling reporters and issuing more threats...

you ain't to bright, is you roeder?

Have you noticed a pattern with the right wing/ Catholic alliance? Newt has whored himself out and "converted" for the votes of the right wing faction of the CC. When RATZINGER was installed as pope, I smelled a Rat of another color. After all, Bush got his ass over to Rome for a meeting, and Ratzi put in a cameo over here.

I'm thinking these groups decided to unite for a stronger front, since they are dwindling due to PEDOFILES, LAWSUITS, CRYSTAL METH ADULTERERS/PREACHER(S), etc.

Business is bad, so they are teaming up to try and save the GOP, AND THE fundies of all organized religions, using what ever tactics they think will scrounge up more sheep to lead to the slaughter house.

you have become the face of the anti abortion movement...keep it up...you're doin' a heck of a job, clownie.

what Rush Limbaugh is to his....

ok, the feds need to stop pretending that operation rescue is anything but a rightwing terrorist organization.

you know that "similar events" will, like the dr. tiller murder, be directed and funded through the operation taliban.

Remember how the right wing media became enraged with the reports that indicated a rise in right wing zealotry?

Some of these same people asserted that to be a terrorist IS to be a Muslim, therefore it's impossible for any Christian group to be a terrorist group. This proves two things- bigotry is rife within the right wing, and right wingers are clueless..

by definition if you are a christian you can't be a terrorist. every true american knows that.

ter.ror.ism [ter-uh-riz-uhm]
1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.
2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.
(from dictionary.com)

what this left leaning dictionary forgot to add to that:

4. unless you are christian. then any act of violence to sway opinion/enact change makes baby jesus smile, and should be referred to as crusaderism.

The use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce are a government's primary methods of operating, but you won't see many on this site calling for the elimination of that particular terrorist. Isn't it interesting how that goes?

since all the talk about the Justice Department investigating Scott "Behold my shot gun blast of justice" Roeder's connections to the anti-abortion groups, has anyone noticed that that cockroach Randall Terry has slunk back under his rock.

Randall Terry=0 The Universe=2. The coupe de grace is waiting to fall.

I thought I would defer my own title in favor of the default.

A: "Tiller's Killer" sounds a lot like Tiller the Baby Killer.

B. The accused gets abbreviated to the name of the Plaintiff in Roe v. Wade. How ironic. Intentional?

He's a terrorist, cut and dry. he's probably part of a group too. Why the hell won't the media call it like it is?

Why the hell won't the media call it like it is?

Because right wingers are big time purchasers on HSN.

Christian terrorists like Dr Tiller's killer, as well as KKK and other Bible quoting white power groups are a FAR greater threat to America than Muslim terrorists that live abroad-
Yet oddly enough, Republicans don't seem to feel it's possible for Christians to be terrorists..

)O(

How many transvestite Mulim (sic) terrorists are there?

not nearly enough.

Hey John,

"Poor Roeder says he's cold in jail. I wish Dr. Tiller had the chance to feel anything....."

I have to disagree with your sentiment here. But without too much hyperbole this is the exact attitude that leads us down the path to Abu Garib and "enhanced interrogation techniques" and why we are the only western democracy left on the planet that still has the death penalty.

Just take a look at some of the comments other folks have made running with your idea. The State uses uses cold temperatures and non stop florescent lighting in the jails to harass and intimidate people. Roeder is convicted of nothing as of yet. If he is found guilty he will and should be put away from society for a very, very long time. But it is not the jailers job to be adding to the punishment the courts mete out.

Justice not Retribution. We are better than what these people stand for and just because they do not offer the same to us does not mean we should sink to their level.

We already did that as a Nation and we called it the Bush Administration :-)

Sorry to preach -- just my 2 cents.

why haven't put him up in a luxery hotel suite yet? He's cold for crisake.

Ya. Hehehehh. He was fantasizing about a nice warm, cozy cell, with a home theatre and entertainment system installed, where he could loose himself with his friends in cyberspace all day long, while getting served three big meals a day, of old fashioned comfort food... Mmmmm. good! Wake me when the ball game starts.

is worth its weight in gold. "Justice, Not Retribution" It's the American Way....

and the Bush admin. The Afghan and Iraq wars are all about retribution and revenge. You don't send the military to do criminal investigations.

Air conditioning too much for him? Florescent lights? Someone send him a sweater and some shades. I am crying on the inside, though. He is bragging about killing the doctor.

Should one's religiousness be 'don't ask don't tell' in politics and policy?

)O(

I was really enjoying the maid's fine performance, so much more natural than the other actors', but had to tune out when Tarzan killed the lion. Sorry, but I don't think he would ever do that. Plus, lions don't live in the jungle...

yes........my grandmother told me that's how people were in the past at least more so. keep your religious beliefs to yourself but it became more and more a strategic wedge issue to divide people and make them
easier to predict. it's now used to compete against one another. some demographics wouldn't belong to a certain political party if it wasn't the PERCEIVED beliefs/philosophy it holds. religion is used for people to
make a judgement and to take a side.

That's what Jesus said, too.

Don't they realize if they keep stirring this pot that there might be an equally crazy on the other side who might do something awful to one of them?

I think Roeder wants to be a martyr. I think he wants to be convicted and maybe get the death sentence so the rest of his crowd can honor him for his act...which of course is a crime.

I think maybe he's a suicide shooter, or a death wish shooter, or a come what may shooter.

If he hadn't wanted to get caught he would have taken himself out like many killers do. I think he wanted the attention for his act. One thing we know for sure is that either he's a crazy SOB or he is awfully awfully mean.

in the many snowflake babies sure to be named after him.

He seems just about crazy enough to believe that.

Hey Amato,
Why do you say "We should be very, very afraid..."? Who is we? Do you work at an abortion clinic? I know I don't. It's a bit self-serving and overly dramatic to claim yourself as part of the group of people who should be afriad. It's the brave men and women who work at and seek out abortion clinics who are in danger--but then, they always have been to some degree. And yet, they keep on going to work everyday. That's the definition of courage if you ask me.

)O(

Who's to say they won't target other "enemies" if this one works?

John Amato's pretty public,

And there's a thread below about anonymous bloggers being outed.

this is a very specific threat. I'm not saying others aren't at risk too, but that's a discussion for a different thread. You're starting to sound very paranoid.

Like Maddow said "It's terorism, and it's working" It's already harder to get an abortion as a result of this 'crazy' guy. O'Liely is his spritual leader.

all who disagree with them. The logic here is called extrapolation. Try it, it is enlightening.

belittling and patronizing. To suggest that "we" all share equally in the threats of anti-abortion zealots demeans the actual daily courageous acts of abortion workers. They're the ones who are in danger--not us.

Oh wait, but i forgot, anti-abortion terrorists are also targeting bloggers named savannah, though i thought i heard they were stopping at savannah 42. so you should be safe.

I did not use the word "we." What are you referring to? Or are you just trying to get your daily talking points out here into the wilderness? How do you know I am not an abortion worker? And I am not a blogger. I merely make comments.

that we are not the ones under threat. and yes, you could be an abortion worker, in which case, i apologize.

The point I was trying to make is that if you disagree with people of this mentality about anything, that could be an excuse for them to kill you. They cannot tolerate any opposing views.

I expect to see Dick Cheney nake the rounds on the pundit circuit to say we need to torture Roeder. That's be the only plausible and ethical stance he and other right-wingers could take since we have a "ticking time-bomb" type scenario here.

Please MSM, please ask the wingnuts as to why or why not we shouldn't torture this guy. This is exactly the type of scenario they are talking about--to save American citizens from terrorism.

as long as it's not them.

I am a huge C&L/John Amato fan! I've been here almost every day for years, but I stopped commenting when registration was required. This post has motivated me to register just for the purpose of making this comment. Mr. Amato, please do not use fear to make your point. You have done so explicitly in this post and I am disgusted by it. After enduring 8 years of the Bush administration using fear as a political tool I have no tolerance left for such crap. I am very concerned about these events, however am not going to let you or anyone else tell me to "be very, very afraid." You have decried this sort of rhetoric on numerous occasions and to employ it now is very hypocritical. You should be at least a little ashamed. I think it would be wise for you to offer a retraction or restatement, because this sort of thing is a good way to lose reflective readers who value moral and intellectual consistency. This sort of hypocrisy could also be used against you by those on the right, and rightly so! Please think about these concerns. I thank you for all of the work you have done and for what I hope is your thoughtful consideration.

I agree. Instead of saying we should be afraid, we could frame it in a positive way, encouraging us to do what we need to do to work against this kind of thing, such as talking to our right-wing relatives and friends, writing letters to the editor, e-mailing or calling our congresscreatures, etc.

That will plant seeds in the reader's mind. We all need to be more active, and John, you have a wonderful opportunity in your excellent blog to point your readers in good, practical directions.

JINX

?

You mean as in bad luck? Could you please clarify? Thanks!

at the same time

Yeah. I was just making a silly joke. And now you can't say anything until you hold your breath for a minute, or something. Or I give you a cootie shot, I think.

NOT

superstition and fear go hand in hand

)O(

Planting seeds in the reader's mind?

I don't think my penis is small enough to fit in someone's ear.

Point. Perhaps the rhetorical drift should be towards the seriousness of the threat, and a call to preparedness and action. I've emailed the White House every day since Tiller's murder, pointed out the FBI's slack enforcement of FACE, the nomination of Alexia Kelley (WHICH STILL IS PISSING ME OFF ), and asked that DHS investigate Operation Rescue as terrorists.

Amato's comment rules keep the place classy (I get deleted on occasion--see above re angry little bear), and perhaps self-imposed rules to keep the posts active and on the attack (the good kind) might be helpful, too.

that is based directly on the election of this pres, which is NOT imaginary (actual stats back this up), as were all the 'terra' threats being made up by CheneyBushCo and colour coded, Green (safe) never being an option.

Why do people come to this website and tell the guy running it he ought to be ashamed? or run things their way (Retract! Repent!)?

Breath, miss kitty, it was just a suggestion about rhetoric. Feel the love.

out of shape over this. I'm more bent about being told to do something by you, a guy I don't know, than i am about some turd who won't start his own blog and do the work it entails, but has the gigantic balls to come to a website and tell the guy running it he ought to be ashamed.

It's like the fucking assholes on the street that tell women who have something on their mind to 'smile'

Now piss off.

[Comment Deleted By Administration For Violation Of Terms Of Service]

Frank Schaefer's book, "Crazy for God", about the founding of the right-wing evangelistic movement. He and his father helped to found it. He says that the inmates have been running the asylum all along. Everything I ever thought about Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, James Dobson and Ralph Reed was exactly right. They are all in this for political ends which have nothing to do with abortion, pro or con. They just found a great rallying point for the wild-eyed of the right. The people are stirred up by their leaders when the Dems are in power and quieted down when the Republicans are running things. It's pretty simple. These folks are an extention of the Republican Party, and that's why they like things quiet when their party is in. Never mind that the Republican Party has done nothing about abortion and that Obama wants to prevent unnecessary ones by improving life for people in this country. They don't want that. They want an issue that will divide, making it easier for the Republicans to make sure that nothing substantive ever changes in this country. They stink.

... that we should be very very afraid. I think we must (finally) get very VERY angry.

Is it easy for ME not to be afraid since I am not threatened? Sure. But even if clinic workers ARE afraid, they aren't afraid enough to stop what they're doing. Great! So, push the fear down and get mad. Yes, start making THEM afraid. Of course, I am NOT suggesting that pro-choice people start murdering violent, anti-choice ghouls. But there are other things we can do....

Get serious, people. For every person protesting at a clinic, get 5 to protest THEM. Play music at THEM. Preach to THEM. All around harass THEM. I know, I know, many think of this as "Don't stoop to their level." I say BS. You HAVE to, or things will get worse. The time for sitting around like passive scaredy-cats should be OVER. Until that day comes, things will only get worse.

And, of course, little is done about these tactics when used by the anti-choice imbeciles. BUT when it becomes a fight -- even without physical violence -- the cops WILL respond. Trust me.

If you REALLY believe in pro-choice, GET INVOLVED. NO FEAR!

"Dr. Tiller's killer says more violence is coming: Scott Roeder calls the AP to issue more threats"

Sounds like a ticking time bomb scenario to me, and we know how the USA deals with that. Enjoy Guantanamo guy.

That's exactly what 'that guy who can't pee anymore' said, and they tortured him 183 times. That's also exactly what the 'exploding shoe' guy said when he was caught. In fact, the CIA torturers should have know that is exacly what a terrorist always tells you. In fact, they do know this...

Terrorists mission is to instill fear, so what's better than the old "i've got a ticking bomb somewhere" claim? you get to contunue terrorising even though you have no such bomb, and they won't kill you if you make them think you have more information to offer...

"We should be very, very afraid..."

I disagree. Let's leave the bedwetting for the right wing who wets their beds over potential terrorism from abroad and anything and anyone who isn't white, straight and Christian. Instead lets focus our energies on forcing the local, state and federal agencies to root out conservative domestic terrorists. We've had quite a few more conservative domestic terrorist attacks on America since the one from Osama from abroad. Conservative domestic terrorism may be the nations #1 threat right now and we should move to shut them down to protect innocent Americans.

FOX News and hate radio should be held accountable too for inciting these folks and "yelling fire in a crowed theatre". Sue em, hit em in their pocket books by naming them in a wrongful death suit, because with all their talk about "God and country" all they really care about is the almighty dollar. Innocent Americans being killed by conservative terrorists they incite is not something they will accept any responsibly for.

Pure and simple. These guys and their affiliated groups (for instance, Operation Rescue) need to be investigated and then prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Full extent is about half an inch.

Some abomination?

it just stops you asking the questions"

"Christians are fond of saying that God sacrificed his only son to
avenge his own anger against a man and a woman four thousand years
dead. They don't ask "What sort of evil crazy God would do that?"
[Charles Fiterman]

This is terrorism. Plain and simple. Come on, BillO, defend this guy. I f'n dare ya.

so to speak ... why isn't the rabid and ridiculous right calling for Roeder to be waterboarded? I mean, the guy IS a terrorist, and has knowledge of future terrorist attacks here, so ...

Because it's not murder if you are a rightwing kook and killing for baby Jesus.

we should waterboard him to find out what else is being planned. Is this not the "ticking time bomb scenario" the wignuts keep squaking about. Oh, wait, I get it, he's white and we know only brown skinnned people can be terrorists.

snark

Well I'm tired of being called a baby murderer. FUCKTARDS.

Now is the time for torture-supporting Republicans to test the "ticking time bomb" theory by waterboarding Scott Roeder to see if they can get actionable intelligence to head off the violence threatened by this lunatic and his lunatic supporters.

Hey, this is perfect! He claims to know that more attacks are coming...well isn't this the Jack Bauer wet dream moment that neo-cons have been waiting for? Here we have a Terrorist who claims to have information on pending attacks. Where's Dick Cheney calling for the waterboard because he "knows" it will work?

But seriously, this story should also be discussed in context with domestic terrorism and why we don't torture.

Why in the hell are they giving this guy a platform?????

I won't tell you if I'm against abortion or pro choice but the media is fueling the flames trying to get this guys message out. This guy has been given a microphone by the media to inspire more copy cats and other fanatics to go out to carry out crimes. The media is being irresponsible.

This is religion, folks. Lovely, isn't it?
