Arianna Huffington debated Hugh Hewitt over Beck's lunatic rantings when he and Roger Ailes lied about his usage of the word "slaughtered" with Howard Kurtz. We exposed that lie here already, but then we were treated to Hewitt's buffoonery about Andy Stern and the same old conservative line being used to defend psycho word talk by conservatives and that was entertaining by itself if you can stand it.
Hewie: If you talk for thirty hours a week, you're going to use the word slaughter and you're going to use it sometimes without knowing it and I don't think we outta focus on it.
No need to respond to that idiocy. But he does try to change the subject and ask why FOX is so popular. Because they have catered to conservatives their entire existence.
Kurtz: let me come back to this question of whether you apply the same standards. Rahm Emanuel, the WH chief of staff said at a private meeting some months ago and used the word "retarded," talking about a democratic idea..."blanking retarded"...he's nbow apologized. You were asked on MSNBC, you said this is political correctness, let's not talk about it. Why not apply the same standards to Rahm?
C&L has commented on the Rahm situation and although what he said was disgusting, it still was behind closed doors and not for public consumption.
What Beck does is totally different and Howard knows this.
In trying to find a comparable situation (which happens all the time by the media,) Kurtz used Rahm's behind closed doors slur. Glenn Beck said it to millions of people and continues to say crazed things on a daily basis to millions of people publicly. Rahm is not a public speaker or a radio or TV talk show host. Do we really have to discuss Glenn Beck or Limbaugh or O'Reilly in this silly way? Please stop it.
Arianna did a great job on the debate, but it needs to be expanded to the entire FOX News network. Beck is but one cog in their wheel. Yes, it's a very twisted wheel, but the debate should center around Roger Ailes and their entire network in the end.

and it is on the network with the "best political team." CNN has bloggers as guests, read tweets and have malfunctioning touch screens. What else do you want?

Are doing this to themselves.. They could not punch their way out of a paper bag which has been torn open...
I still believe over the previous years the centrists have been filling the democrats seats with their republican friends..
Emanuel has recruited , funded and supported these republican candidates with the democrats political funds and personal..
Emanuel have moved the democratic party far past the center and shaking hands with the right wingers.
It shows the mind set of Obama , Emanuel and the democrats when they do not prosecute Bush , Cheney , Rumsfeld , Rove and other criminals from the previous administration...
None
They should change the name to Deniable Sources, toss out the touch screen and replace it with a black board then have guests on no one has ever heard of. This would make them totally competitive with Beck.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
My favorite part of the clip was Kurtz's insightful questioning of Huffington about "why is Beck so popular?" Compared to what, the drivel offered on the two other cable news networks in a competing time slot? If you could meter maturbatory practices I think you'd find self abuse outdraws Beck handily.
"I mean Romney is the most conservative on illegal immigration and I don't think Ronald Reagan could get elected in California today."
Ann "Clipped" Coulter
But what else can you expect from the party of insanity? How else can you explain people that have been doing the wrong things for thirty years with disasterous results, yet they continue to preach the same old worn out ignorant sermon?
republicanism/conservatism is a mental illness!
... that you can't have slaughter without some laughter.
WTF? What is this, a news program or the inmate-run tv station at Arkham Asylum?
Did they carry the advocacy ad which ruined women's right to choose?
Got a link?

run in different directions.
Thanks for the Tebow link. Hope it is not removed. I am appalled such an assault on established contitutional priciples based on incredibly false facts could be aired on television.

I wonder why they didn't compare Rahm and Rush - as it was the same word.
Why bother with these M$M creeps. They are just so full of it.

Kurtz you're not a dumb man. Why are you forcing this false equivalency down people's throats?
a) He is leading us to intellectual slaughter
b) He is not dumb, but he is f*&king re#!*ded.
"I mean Romney is the most conservative on illegal immigration and I don't think Ronald Reagan could get elected in California today."
Ann "Clipped" Coulter
I listened to this yesterday and I thogh taht Hewie came off as a real asshole. Even if you try to look at it from a right wing idiot point of view.
He says that he thinks that Beck inciting a dangerous element is silly. Anybody with an ounce of reality in their blood can see that what Beck is doing is very dangerous.
Another thing that was brought up a little and I thought about last week after hearing what Roger Ailes said was that if Ailes and Beck were trying to say that Beck didn't say that Obama was going to slaughter us because that would be a bad thing then what does it have to say about Beck actually saying it. Why did Beck spend two days trying to deny if in the end it was no big deal. If what Beck is doing is not dangerous then why did he try to walk back from it?
Saturday Night Live did a skit about what Rahm said that was funny as hell. It was Rahm apologizing to Palin and then a four-lettered rant about what he thought of her.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Beck actually said that if he used the word "slaughter" he used it in the context that the truth was being slaughtered by Obama. That in itself is pretty funny in that such a huge amount of what Beck says is NOT true. In fact what he was saying right then was not truthful. It was a lie as Beck was saying that Obama is slaughtering the truth when Beck was not even originally using the word slaughter in the truth or not truth context. When Beck says that Obama (These people) is intentionally steering the the country into the trees he is lying and being dangerous. Is he not?
Beck is purposefully scaring the hell out of simple minded people who have put their trust in him. He is using them the way Palin uses tea baggers and it's all about $$$. Both of them are making a lot of money at the expense of some people's lives and beliefs
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Hewie says tath Ailes should not be expected to know what Huffington was talking about because it happened more than six weeks prior. If Ailes didn't know what he was taking about then why did he even say anything and Ailes used the same lame/false excuse that Beck used. That the "slaughter" word was use in the context of Hitler/Stalin/Mao.
"because it happened more than six weeks prior"
AND he didn't have it written on his palm . . .
"I know that there are people who do not love their fellow
man, and I hate people like that! " ~ Tom Lehrer (1928 - )
Gives the term palm pilot a whole new meaning doesn't it?
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Piloting plane into trees! Oh, Mao, we will all be slaughtered.
"I mean Romney is the most conservative on illegal immigration and I don't think Ronald Reagan could get elected in California today."
Ann "Clipped" Coulter
I'm about ready to pilot my own plane into a tree today. Seems every time I turn on tv, they are talking about Palin as if she is a serious contender for President of the United States. How much longer are they going to play with this new shiny toy before they realize there is lead in the paint?
One side is pissing about Obama not knowing what he's doing or how to do it, and the other side is saying they think Palin would know what to do and how to do it. Scheech!
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
are rightly concerned because Obama is surrounded by people who are "close" to him. That is why he has wasted so much time reaching out to people who hate him.
I won't comment on what the other side says.
"I mean Romney is the most conservative on illegal immigration and I don't think Ronald Reagan could get elected in California today."
Ann "Clipped" Coulter
Then when Hewie tried to equate it to somebody saying "workers of the world unite" and putting that person who said it (Andy Stern) in the same box as Stalin and Mao it is stupid and it transparently stupid.
So saying that Obama is going to slaughter us and Andy Stern saying something about "workers of the world unite" is in the same box. It is just asinine and I can't believe anybody watching this would think that statement is rational.
Hey all the channels are talking about this morning are Palin's prospects to be president. They think this is rational too.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
three topics with only a palm note while being paid $$$$$$ addressing a gathering where 600 self selected people paid $$$ to hear you is very Presidential.
"I mean Romney is the most conservative on illegal immigration and I don't think Ronald Reagan could get elected in California today."
Ann "Clipped" Coulter
Plus she didn't say a damned thing! Silly little girl remarks does not a grown up make. However, some of the things she said she could have grabbed from the comments at this site.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Then Hewie says that the standard should be whether you have the intention and the ability to incite for the speech (in this case the word slaughter) to be over the top (so to speak). If Hugh Hewitt does not think that Beck fits this definition then he is either stupid or a liar or both. And to say that Rahm Emanuel using the word retard and Beck telling millions of people to beware because Obama is going to slaughter everybody is the same thing or the same sort of dangerous then he is lying through his teeth.
Later when Howie tried to put Olbermann in the same box as Beck at least Huffington points out that Olbermann apologized and Beck and the rest of the clowns on Fox have never apologized for anything. Also Olbermann tells the truth. When he stretched it, as he does sometimes, he apologized.
HOWARD KURTZ IS A REPUBLICAN OPERATIVE!!!!HE IS A PUPPET AND HIS WIFE SHERI ANNIS PULLS THE STRINGS!!!!!!!
then putting it in bold must mean you think we are either deaf or only read French?
"I mean Romney is the most conservative on illegal immigration and I don't think Ronald Reagan could get elected in California today."
Ann "Clipped" Coulter
Cause it's obvious you don't read French. If you did we'd be talking about Guy Debord, not Caribou Barbie.
Rahm Emanuel should be fired.
Wait, what was the question?
False equivalency? Ya think? That was one of the stupidest comparison's I've ever heard. Shame on him. To compare someone blurting out an insulting comment at a private meeting to a guy trying to sell a narrative on television at least 5 days a week is quite a stretch. Does anyone wonder why we have no faith in the media? These guys are just plain lame, all of them.
