I've sent a few emails to the likes of Limpballs and Insanity, telling them that there are many reasons I hope Obama wins, not the least of which is just to spite Republic jerks like them. When Obama wins, I won't rub it in too much, but I plan on sending Insanity an email, simply telling him that he is "on the wrong side of history," a line he used many, many times in discussing the Iraq war with Democrats on his show.
I would love to ask Rush Limbaugh what an America would look like under his perfect utopia?
Would there be no government? or very little government? Would there be no black people or minorities of any kind? Would everything be run by corporations? What would happen to the people who fell between the cracks? Would we ship them out of the country? Would everyone have to be a religious believer and only believe in a christian theology? etc. etc. etc.
Anyone can bitch and complain, and have anger and hate all the time but, what are your solutions Limbaugh and what would your world look like?

Rush is just another Michael Savage- He's a white supremacist, plain and simple. No matter what an African American achieves, in Rush's eyes, he/she will always be seen as an inferior.
My parents worked in the Civil Rights Movement, and I believe I have some unique insight into human nature in that area. As I have posted before, much of racism, discrimination and stereotyping stems from fear and paranoia, as in Limbaugh's ridiculous belief that Obama might be a Black Panther.
I have seen barriers fall in many areas, and before each barrier falls, there is a great deal of paranoia, verbal abuse and harassment.
Since I am a sports fan, my examples will come from sports. Before Hank Aarons record, he recieved a tremendous amount of verbal abuse, death threats, and harassment. He had to take it because the numbers were so great, it was impossible to throw all of the troublemakers out of the park. He just endured it. One week after the record was broken there was peace in the park. Where did the abuse go? Into the abyss where witless mockery and immature childish aggression goes... They still came to the park, enjoyed the game, and even got Aaron's autograph.
I have seen the same behavior at many African American "firsts" in human and civil rights. A frenzied, fearful, agitated state of depression reins until the thing happens, or the person is installed, then it all goes away.
I attended the first game of the first black coach of the NFL. Hundreds took seats near the 50 yard line and yelled cat calls at the poor man who was trying to win the game for them! The next Sunday they cheered for him. This is a weird and strange thing, but it shows the depth of layers discrimination which is complicated and exasperating.
What does racism feel like? Imagine going to a country. Before your arrival, someone tells the most awful lies against you, so that when you arrive, you experience an unrelenting animosity. It's slander. They don't know you, have never had any dealings with you, but they suppose that they know everything about your character, or habits, or financial status.
Racism actually spends an exhaustive amount of time trying to prove it's own theories. In parts of Europe, hate groups are springing up. They post websites verbally abusing African Americans, Jewish people, Asians and Liberals. Where did they get this hatred from? Many have never met a person of either of the above groups. They get it from propaganda. Many parents have no idea what sites their minor children are on.
Racism is also BLAME. Unhappy, unbalanced, paranoid people seek to place blame on others that they feel are beneath them. It's human nature.
Who can be a racist? We all can be! If we are stoic and unrelenting in negative and intolerant attitudes toward others based on race, we are racist.
I, like many, experienced it in my own life, and decided to stay "with my own." That lasted about a week. The first class I walked into in my carefully chosen HBCU, there stood a white professor. After attempting to ignore him and stare out of the window for several weeks, I had my moment of Zen, realizing that I could not ignore a brilliant and hysterically funny imdividual, simply because of his race.
Expose bigotry at every turn. Many are listening to Rush, and Sean, and Michelle simply out of curiosity. I don't believe there are happy bigots. Their own families suffers. Hatred is not something that can be turned off and own like the faucet. Most are dominineering and cold in interpersonal relationships.
I often counsel young men jailed for hate crimes. One common denomination of their formative years was neglect. After they are deprogrammed- back in their right minds, they admit that they underwent a personality change after listening to propaganda. Most of these boys are looking at life sentences. Their violence is usually random, sudden. Their MO rarely varies. They usually lash out at a lone minority person walking alone in an isolated area. Their anger is directed at the ethnicity. My last counselee beat an old man to death. The old man had gone out past midnight to a pharmacy to get medicine for his wife. He was a decorated army veteran.
To read comments on Youtube and in conservative blogs, I see that harassment, verbal abuse, agitation, fear and paranoia toward Obama. I believe most of it will subside. I hope most people can eventually mature and get to the issues instead of cruel color jokes and petty verbal abuse. For those who cannot mature, they can be ignored. Last night I read someone's profile who admited he only posted on Youtube when he was,"drunk as a skunk." I decided then and there to use my time more wisely.
I no longer read blogs with bigoted agends. Misery loves company and I always leave with a little bit of their hopelessness, depression and exasperation, which I don't need.
