To the Villagers, the left have to be the ones to always, always compromise. If a president dares to govern to the left, it's mutiny in the Beltway. I don't remember the media getting all too upset when Bush's wingnut base freaked out over immigration reform and killed it. Tom Tancredo was invited to go on every talk show there was and even ran for president on it.

Tweety goes on and on saying the Democrats never even had fifty votes so if they wanted to use reconciliation they never had the votes to do it anyway, so they are just total failures. Really, Tweety? I wonder where he got his information from. A 900 number maybe...the Psychic Network...

Matthews: Yeah, so a lot of this has been talk, so Vick you pick up on this. Given the fact that the Senate's not going to approve a public option because they can't get any where near sixty...

Right...

...and by the way I'm wondering were they ever going to get fifty.

Yeah. And all these guys are going through reconciliation-- we're going to ram it through-- they never had fifty! Okay, that's just my hunch and my belief.

Matthews: And I would argue that if you're going to be the party that believes in government, which the Democrats do believe more than Republicans do, they believe in positive government-- you have to be able to govern and prove that you're affective at governing. If you blow it, you can't say you believe in government because you've failed at government. Thank you very much. That's a little redundant.

WTF does this mean? If you believe in government, but you fail to pass a bill---does that mean you don't believe in government? Isn't that what governing is all about? Republicans just say they hate the government so they can get elected to work FOR the government. Conservatives make a lot of money being IN the government, you freaking buffoon.

This type of health-care reform has never been done before. Ever. And with idiots on my dial only talking bullshit it really makes it hard for working families to ever get a fair shake. The Villagers like Tweety, with their million-dollar houses, actually think they represent average working-class families, but his rant just shows a lack of understanding about the basic workings of how political parties operate in America.

What does it mean to Chris when Bush (at one time Chris Matthews got very warm and fuzzy looking at the codpiece) failed to privatize Social Security? Lucky for us he didn't get a chance to destroy that also. OK...NEXT!

Is a waste of time and oxygen.

You don't have to think to watch Tweety

Tweety's Tweets!

Twits tweet.

But this half wit gets it wrong more often than he gets it right. Watching his show is slightly more entertaining than watching paint dry.

...where George realizes his gut instincts are always wrong and he decides to do and say the opposite of his first impulse.

I quit watching these idiots years ago. My family says I am more relaxed because of it.

I am greatful that C & L and MM's keep track of these Orwellean arseholes, so that I don't have too.

I want my country back.

The Old Over Scaled, gluttonous, easy credit, throw away society that got us into this mess?

Or the old live and let live concept?

His interviews are asinine - they're simply opportunities for Tweety to interrupt his guests and shout out his own opinion.

It's about control man.

has improved greatly since I stopped watching Matthews.

..............

His head is so huge, bulbous and pinata like, I cant help but want to smash it with a bat to see if candy comes out. I'd last 3.2 seconds on his show before I told him to shut the f*ck up.

They are consistently 180 degrees off the mark.

"And I would argue that if you're going to be the party that believes in government, which the Democrats do believe more than Republicans do..."

So what does tweety do do?

)O(

"...(Y)ou have to be able to govern and prove that you're affective at governing. If you blow it, you can't say you believe in government because you've failed at government."

Does that mean the republicans can never run another candidate for any election for ever more?

because you just earned a donation from me John.

I stopped watching Matthews after the election was over last year. He occassionally has guests whom I admire (David Corn, Joan Walsh) but I was finding that 95% of the segments were useless. Matthews is disgracefully uninformed. When I know more about the majority of issues discussed on the show than he does - a supposed professional, political junkie -- it was just too infuriating. On top of the lack of knowledge, his constant interruption and maddeningly inconsistent views, it was just too much.

I find that i've missed nothing but tuning it out, and can use the blogs for any must-see moments.

The closer we get to the end of this year and into next year and the mid-term election season, the more you'll see Tweety converting his previous defense and praise of the Democratic Party into his usual "The Democrats are PUSSIES!", "At least we know where the REPUBLICANS stand! With AMERICA!!" election season campaigning for Republicans and against Democrats.

Count on it.

The ONLY reason he exhibits some level of support for Democrats in OFF election years, when his pronouncements don't matter one whit, is to add more credibility to his "awakening" to their failures IN election years, the only time his pronouncements matter at all. The pattern is obvious.

"They roam the halls of power in Washington like jackals in a feeding frenzy -- predators in Gucci loafers and $4,000 suits.

They are the lobbyists, political action committee managers and special interest group hired guns -- America's real ruling class.

They write the checks to secure support from members of Congress and they write the bills that emerge as laws and land on the President's desk for signature.

The health care vote headed for a Senate vote next week is a document produced by the health care industry lobbyists -- the same health care industry that is spending a million dollars a day to exert absolute control over the legislation."

Tweety has got to stop playing with that home lobotomy kit.

millions a year to sit in a studio spewing this crap?

)O(

Coming from you, John, those are some pretty strong words. Spot-on, however.

...prototypical media whore. He know how to play both side well and he is not ashamed of it.

For a week now his new mantra is how the Democrats are going to lose more than 40 House seats. And
he almost seems a bit gleeful about it, although with him you never know.

In all fairness, he occasionally refers to right-wingers are "those crazies".

PS - Unless we all do our GOTV efforts (especially in critical districts), Tweety might turn out to be right.

"In all fairness, he occasionally refers to right-wingers are "those crazies"."

By November, 2010, he will convert that into something like, "Sure, some of these Republicans are crazy...crazy with LOVE for America! We need passion in this country. Republicans have it! At least we know where they stand! I fear Democrats just don't have the...guts...to protect America and fight for what they believe in..."

Watch for it.

Remember, he often refers to his staunch Republican parents, aunts, uncles, etc. Secretly, he still longs for their approval. He spends off election years annoying the hell out of them by defending Democrats, then spends election years proving to them that he's still one of them so they can all kiss and make up. His entire existance is defined by that back and forth familial drama.

But we don't have the votes. It's a fact, otherwise this would have been signed already. Deal with the facts, democrats are spineless, regardless of being a majority.

He has no convictions except the delusion that he is a very important man who can make or break candidates, presidents and parties.

Not even Glenn Beck can make me turn the channel faster. At least, Glenn Beck can make me laugh.

because the bluedogs are as obstructionist as republican

)O(

That expression just screams, "I made a boom-boom in my boxers..."

I'm really sick and tired of these beltway whores bloviating on and on about what Liberals are supposed to accept or else. Fuck them all! Memo to tweety and the other two jerkoffs featured in that segment: Alan Grayson said it best the other day: "Americans don't care about politics, process, or personalities. Americans care about what is best for America"

i'm mad as hell too - that matthews still has a show. doesn't that show have a director?
how about that "director" keeping one finger on the "mute" button and
the other on "camera 2". instead of letting the talking head keep talking on and on after the initial question - the director mutes
tweety's mic and the camera flips to the guest for the answer. isn't that how other programs work? how long can he ride a dead mans coat tails? yeah - yeah he worked for tip, so did 8000 other people over the years. do they all have tv shows.....once again i ask someone for an "inside the beltway family tree - who is married to whom, who's
lawyer or publicist, or brother-in-law is who - its all sooooo incestuos.......and those of us out here in the heartland have no
idea just who is really "in bed' with whom.

"If you blow it, you can't say you believe in government because you've failed at government."

Yes irrefutable logic.
If I love baseball and buy a team but that team always loses?
It means I don't really love Baseball.See?

He does no homework and he has no idea what the stakes are in these matters. He's a millionaire with no skin in the game, and he treats this as if it's sports.

He's been a whore since he worked for the SF Examiner.

Matthews licked his finger, and put in the air this week to see which way the political winds are moving.
What a Jackass

I tune in to Tweety's show every so often and I have noticed something weird. He has gotten slowly worse when it comes to listening to others. All parents will recognize this -- very young children (before they completely learn how to act in public) will not listen, just interrupt and think of what they want to say next, when others are talking.

A guest will begin to speak, Tweety gives him about 5 seconds, then interrupts. He seems to never LISTEN. It cracks me up when the guest is talking, Tweety is busy listening to his handlers talk into his ear, telling him what to say. Many times, I have seen him interrupt a guest to ask a question the guest was actually answering when interrupted.

I think (truly) he has Alzheimers or early senility or something. And I don't see why guests come on his show. It is so refreshing to watch Keith Olbermann, who the wingnuts call "rude" -- always letting guests finish their lines.
