Wisconsin GOP Official and a FOX News 'Plant,' Crashes Car in Drunken Stupor and Resigns
You may remember this video segment of Amber Hahn who appeared on Fox & Friends back in February as an angry parent who was fuming that Wisconsin schools were teaching their children about the history of unions and collective bargaining. In Fox-verse, unions are an immoral gathering of hooded people, cloaked in secrecy trying to destroy the company they work for by all means necessary.
This morning, Fox & Friends hosted an "upset Wisconsin parent" to discuss her objection to Wisconsin public schools' teaching of labor union history. Left unsaid during the segment: The parent, Amber Hahn, is also a local GOP official.
Fox & Friends, which asked last week if teaching labor history in Wisconsin schools is "pro-union propaganda," used the interview with Hahn to renew its attacks. A graphic that aired during the segment asked if Wisconsin schools are "pushing the union agenda," and co-host Gretchen Carlson asked Hahn if she thought the lessons on unions are "biased." At the end of the interview, Hahn thanked the hosts for "bringing light" to the issue.
As Media Matters pointed out, Fox News repeatedly uses GOPers either in office or who have run for a seat to push an anti-union agenda in WI since the people have spoken out about Scott Walker's radical anti-worker agenda without the necessary transparency required. It's fraudulent news coverage even if it's on Fox & Friends.
Raw Story caught the latest from Amber Hahn and it ain't pretty:
Columbia County Republican Party chair Amber Hahn resigned on Friday after drunkenly crashing a car carrying herself and her three children, according to The Wisconsin State Journal.
Hahn, 35, crashed her car Thursday night while driving drunk. No other vehicles were involved and fortunately no one was injured. Police were summoned by the car's On-Star call system.
Jane Kohlwey, the Columbia County District Attorney, also a Republican, has requested that a special prosecutor from neighboring Dane county handle the case. Ms. Hahn, a Poynette School Board Member and volunteer firefighter said in her resignation statement, "It is clear to me now that I have lost focus and I am trying to do too much. I have an addiction to alcohol and need to address it."
Listen, alcoholism is no joke so I hope she gets the help she needs if that's the truth of it, but masquerading as an outraged parent to attack the history of "unions" which changed the lives of all working Americans is truly awful under any circumstance. I am grateful that her children walked away unscathed.
Fox News faces no consequences for their actions though and that is the bigger story here in the end.

Dr. Bob Altemeyer called it out so well in his book, "The Authoritarians", where he correctly predicted this type of behavior, the contradiction, the hypocrisy that typifies the Authoritarian personality.
And this story is also a excellent example of what is called the" RWA/SDO embrace" , that is the relation between the Authoritarian follower, more than willing to do their Masters' bidding, implied or not, and the Authoritarian leaders, instigating his minions to action, while denying any involvement.

I'm outraged that a mother would drive drunk with her children in the car.
This is the height of irresponsibility.
Personally, I'd go a little further and call it the height of stupidity and insanity for a woman to experience more concern about the fact that her children are learning about the history of labor in this country than she apparently was about the potential for them to lose their lives, lose her, and/or find out that she has seriously injured or killed someone as a result of her wanton and reckless endangerment. Frankly, this sad excuse for a mother should be on her knees thanking her lucky stars or whatever deity she believes in that neither she nor her children nor anyone else was injured...because it should be obvious that this was a very serious wake-up call, and if she elects to ignore it, she might not be so f**king lucky next time.

How many dishonest friends or associates will any of us tolerate, or tolerate for long? Why in the world would we ever tolerate of trust the liars from FOX. As long as people keep listening to them, they are going to keep right on showing their contempt for their customers by lying and manipulating them. I'd think people would have more self-respect than to subject themselves to that kind of insulting abuse, even when the only thing that FOX is doing is validating their own personal dark side.

i remember being taught the history of labor unions, as part of my history classes, in virginia, in the 60's & 70's. and it was taught in a positive manner, as a legitimate response to the arrogance of the "captains of industry", and their horrific treatment of their labor force.
odder still, henry ford was the only one of them that actually came out looking good: he insisted on paying his workers a wage which would allow them to afford to buy the cars they were making. of course, this wasn't altruism on ford's part, he saw it as a way to get more of his cars on the road, and convince others to buy them as well. that said, he was ahead of his time in this one regard.
I'm guessing it was pre-Texas approval days, or else I just blocked out the jeebus parts.

After having to see enough sober jaywalkers do the same in L.A., I say that anyone willing to risk the lives of children and/or pets in a DUI is a total piece of shit, plain and simple.
