Election Fraud, Republican-style

Why, I wonder what's the matter with Republicans? Aren't they all confident and all, considering the current narrative that they're on track to win back the Congress and shut down the government? I can't imagine why Republican Steve May thinks he has to recruit homeless folks for the Green Party ticket in order to pull Democratic votes away, can you?

That's not all. Last week there was the Houston, Texas voter suppression schemes. This week it turns out True the Vote is building their case with doctored photos.

Compare and contrast:

2010-09-06-capt.ballot_confusion_4gl.jpgOriginal photo

2010-09-06-TrueTheVoteScreenCapture.jpgTrue the Vote's version, after alterations

If Republicans think they are the party with better ideas, why doctor photos to suppress voters? Let their ideas be tested fairly, or not at all. Yes, that was sarcasm. This is classic Republican behavior. Suppress the vote, put up fake candidates to siphon votes, whatever works. They will stop at nothing to subvert and corrupt democracy for their own ends.

To be fair, even a Fox-watching halfwit should be able to deduce eventually that the, "I'm with stupid," sign wasn't original to the picture.

Still, the fact that they took the video containing the picture down on one site and made it private on youtube doesn't exactly speak well of thier honesty and transperancy.

...Well, I'd seriously hope that they'd deduce that...

To tell you the truth I almost don't disagree with that second picture.

It's how I felt in the aftermath of boosh v Gore.

y-badd: "You're owned by a pug?"

i dunno about the eminently-readable (as you must know) karoli pug connections but this kinda thing just frosts my ass, not to rain on parades, but karoli is right, they will stop at nothing...

so why the F* do we give them any quarter at all? They are traitors to our great nation. These F*'n billionaires gotta kick back down, break off big time, for the rest of us. Sorry, mid-level managers among us, but the 90K cap has got to go. And health care for.all.now.period.

oh wait, i forgot, those c*nts own us, cheat all they want, act with impunity and not one leader amongst the progressive (save Alan Grayson... no, literally, SAVE ALAN GRAYSON) has the balls to jack this sh*t up til they are exposed for what they are. Seditious in their intent.

But, no, and yes, WE'RE ALL OWNED by PUGS

1. The Green Party is the most inept bunch of losers in this case. They should have ALREADY HAD people nominated and ready to go FROM WITHIN the party itself. They just need to grow up and deal with elections as real object, not some game.
2. The Republicans have proven themselves YET AGAIN to be a bunch of unethical scum sucking bottom feeding douchebags. But, what else is new?
3. In this episode the Democrats are revealed to be a bunch of disorganised whinging crybabies.

The Dems don't like the Rethugs running up Green Party candidates? Well, gee, Maybe (just MAYBE) the Democrats need to grow a spine and a pair of cajones and STAND FOR SOMETHING other than "we are better than republicans, even if we are shills for the same corporate hell machine".

Pox on all their houses - Pox on the Republicans for being a bunch of a-holes, Pox on the Green Party for being hopelessly incompetent, and pox on the Democrats for being a bunch of cringing dopes.

I'm getting mixed messages from you Tinkerbelle..

So, if i may paraphrase - "i give up". Is that what you're saying?
If so, the Republicans will be delighted.
We will not be discouraged.

What is the matter with Steve Green recruiting real people for the Green Party?

It's not illegal so how is it fraud?

Ape-Man's picture

Ask the guy in the photo if he was defrauded.
He'll no doubt set you straight.

bayville's picture

Again, what is illegal about Steve May registering homeless people as candidates for the Green Party?

Try again.

Rich H's picture

republicans do it.

bayville's picture

Maybe Steve May is just trying to advocate for the homeless. Give them a voice. Pick up their collective self-esteems.

Vote Green!

Rich H's picture

you'd find that one of the fellows (who's far from homeless, just some R's daughters room mate) said he wanted to register Green because it was too hard to register as a republican. Yeah, like he'll try to promote republican ideals by running as a Green.

Dispicable, dishonest, disgusting. Own up to it. Its been at least ten years since a republican won an honest election. POS. all of them.

bayville's picture

Great story. What an enterprising fella that Steve May is.

This is a great story on what Democracy really is.

Ape-Man's picture

you protest too much bayville.
You are trying to discourage us, concern troll. It will not work. The Republicans have seen to that!

And what fools we are to keep calling them the grand old party and capitalizing R, for their wing and party. I'll keep calling them teabaggers, I don't have to make a pretty face for the village.

According to Rachel, with just eight weeks to the midterms, he's out schlepping across Puerto Rico, Guam, and the North Mariannas, locations that don't even vote in the upcoming elections. Well, at least he's out of the spotlight, I guess; exactly where they want him...

i saw about 10 seconds of the pollster Charlie Cook on Sunday, and he said that in 2006 the democrats had a 16 point edge, in 2008 the democrats had an 8 point edge; and in 2010, the republicans have an 11 point edge.

Right then and there I knew the guy was full of s**t! There is no way in he** anyone is gonna convince me that the people are more enthusiastic about republicans in 2010 than they were about democrats in 2008.

No way, no how! And nobody called b.s. on this GOPer water carrier either.

I don't know of anyone (outside the moron teabaggers) who is chomping at the bit to put the psycho's back in charge who caused all of the problems to begin with.

The MSM should dress in red cheer-leading outfits, with a big elephant ass emblem on the sweater.

Voter fraud, voter disenfranchisement, vote tampering machines, Gerrymandering of epic proportions, 95% ownership of airwaves which supply 24/7 right-wing propaganda bulls**t; and still these a**holes can only win by 6 votes when they do manage to steal an election.

If the democrats had this set-up, they would have 85% of the seats in congress.

Rush Limbaugh is what a smart person thinks a stupid bigot sounds like.

If the democrats had this set-up, they would have 85% of the seats in congress.

And then they'd STILL claim they were helpless and unable to do anything and at the mercy of Republicans.

looks like the picture is supposed to be a joke. i don't think that they were trying to fool anyone. seems like folks on here are playing dumb and taking it seriously in order to have something to get riled up about.

The Last Word's picture

I watched the entire video published by TrueTheVote before they made it inaccessible, and I remember this specific image, and wondering why that person was holding a sign that said "I only got to vote once!"

TTV's target audience is older, suburban whites, and the video is obviously intended to inflame their passions concerning alleged voter fraud among black and brown people.

Rich H's picture

at this point is a teabagger.

Wow. What unpleasent responses

I still think that that picture was altered as a joke.
It just seems like a stretch that the lady in the sign Is really protesting only getting to vote once?

Nixon had the election won, but still felt compelled to commit felonies in order to cement victory. The result was the Watergate burglary and more. Sadly, the voters didn't really care because what should have been the death of a Republican Party exposed for what is was, was dismissed one election cycle later with the election of the Amiable Dunce and Segretti's successors.

Today we have Rove and Drudge skipping into the sunset, still controlling the vote of the tiny-brained.

Note to would-be photoshop Republihacks: Never use actual fonts to replace the messages of what would otherwise be HANDWRITTEN signs.

And on a similar note, never clone the SAME SECTION OF PEOPLE IN A CROWD more than once to fill in your lame, low attendance Repug rally shots. It's insulting to us graphic professionals that you'd think your inept laziness would fool anyone, but I guess that explains why you're Repugs in the first place.

Is Arizona now doctored into dummy?

Harris County Tax Assessor Collector Leo Vasquez-R (appointed after his predecessor Paul Bettencourt resigned after re-election) let these "True the Vote" clowns have access to private voter registration information that they had denied the Texas Democratic Party the prior year. Vasquez claims that they filed a freedom of information request-- and he was also a featured speaker at their rally, BTW. Vasquez' office settled a lawsuit inherited from Paul Bettencourt's tenure, that was filed by the TDP claiming 70,000 voters had been disenfranchised by the office. The TDP has also filed a lawsuit in this case. And one of the guys who worked for Bettencourt (last name Johnson) runs a side business that sells voter information with Texas Representative Dwayne Bohac-R (my useless rep). Johnson has apparently been reassigned, but there was no conflict of interest handling confidential voter registration info while you worked for the county and selling voter registration information to candidates, while not disclosing the fact that you had the side job. As for Vasquez--he lost his primary, with some speculating his Hispanic surname was the reason.
