Birther-Buster Amendment Passes House Unanimously

The ridiculous, fringe Birther conspiracy theory was dealt a big blow Monday, when the House unanimously passed a bill declaring Hawaii the birthplace of President Obama:

It would make some political sense for congressional Democrats to start pressing their Republican colleagues on the Birthers. If Republicans don't reject the conspiracy theories about President Obama's birthplace outright, their opponents can use it to paint them as extremists; if they do reject them, they might have a problem with their base.

Greg Sargent reported Monday that one House Democrat, Hawaii's Neil Abercrombie, was doing just that. Abercrombie, Sargent wrote, "is going to introduce a resolution on the House floor today that seems designed to put House GOPers who are flirting with birtherism in a jam .... [The resolution] commemorates the 50th anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood. But here’s the rub, his spokesman tells me: It describes Hawaii as Barack Obama’s birthplace." Read on...

The bill passed unanimously -- even the nutty Michelle Bachmann voted for it. So, how long will CNN continue to parrot Fox News and right wing clowns like Limbaugh and Beck in perpetuating this right wing myth? I guess as long as it gets ratings...

The Wolverines were a great movement in US (cinema) history. their memory should not be desecrated by the birthers.

Darn you straight to heck!
I agree however, with your post.

That's why Professor Gates got arrested in Cambridge. Apparently the cop wanted his original birth certificate and all he could produce was his certificate of live birth. Tough being a brother these days.

now. Media is probably sending 50 trucks to the White House for the Photo Op.

It's where the right wing gets all of their talking points.

Marc Maron and Sam Seder had some great fun with the Wolverines.

Well...that's good news...
OK...waaaay OT but watch it any damn way...it's funny as hell.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/28/will...

So does this mean that the birthers are not going to vote for Michelle Bachmann? Unanimous huh? So where do the birthers turn? Hannity?

Wouldn't that preclude any republicans running for office

Seeing that they're born from reptilian eggs?

... make the entire House complicit in the coverup/conspiracy to hide the TRUTH about Obama's foreign birth?

I'm just sayin' ...

Darn. You beat me to it. I'm sure that's what we're going to be hearing now.

Does anyone think the birthers will just give up and face reality?

Not bloody likely.

the birthers are the teabaggers...and this is their bright shiny object du jour.
Mext month it will be some other stupid thing.

Attention Defici- OOOOH, SHINY!

HA!

That's it!

Not anymore likely than....
The fake moon landing conspiracy theorist giving up.
The 911 truthers giving up.
The 2012 end of the world believers giving up.
The hollow earth believers giving up.
The Illuminati conspiracy theorist giving up.
and on and on....
Difference is, the birthers get a public forum on cable tv.

I'm just sayin' ...

Technically, George Washington was not an American either and no one had a problem with him.

..?

)O(

Why does that pioneer remind me of:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xchH3ILk0gk

I can hear what he's yellin' now,

"FROGURT!"

HA!

It IS HIIIIIIM!
The kid with yellow eyes! So help me, he has YELLOW eyes!

)O(

Oh SHAZBOT!!!

What's it been now 2 weeks?

... the birther conspiracy or those pushing it as 'legitimate' news.

They'll continue to whine, "I don't understand why he just doesn't show us the original birth certificate and trot out the doctor and the nurse and show us the placenta and umbilical cord and baby photos and ..."

I mean, come on. Orly Taitz thinks there's a conspiracy of court clerks, FBI agents, and anonymous computer hackers who happened to have an IP in the same state where Obama's mother's cousin's nephew went to school out to get her.

How is this a "big blow" to the birthers? Why are we talking about them as though they're an influential political party that can be hurt or helped through non-binding resolutions? Truth is, if you're still a birther by now, nothing can be said or done to ever convince you otherwise. Conversely, if you aren't a birther, it's unlikely you'll ever be.

This isn't some tug-of-war over the public conscious that's measured in wins or losses. It's just a big freak parade, and we liberals can just sit on the sidewalk and watch in amusement.

Christ on a spacehopper, they had to fucking pass a bill on this crazy shit?

That's the shitty state our guvmint is in.

)O(

Texas?

The majority of the people habitating there are shitty...not you of course, YSB.

But I think you might be thinkin of Alaska.

I live in Texas and I'm not shitty. It's our fucking Governor.......and he is toast.

marcellajoy!
I knew I was gonna regret that post, lol!

)O(

That's shit on shingle.

... they have no drive, no leadership. It's like they're afraid of saying something is wrong, everything is reasonable and negotiable.

Meanwhile, the Republicans are like a rollerball team in close formation.

The Demos try to reason with them and *KERSPLAT*.

Every. Single. Time.

Amusing that by whining about the Birth Certificate these looney toons are really whining about WHO whupped McKook and MsKook last Nov;

A black muslim from Kenya!

The amount of time and energy spent on this topic in recent times should demonstrate just how far down this country has fallen.

for free.

These people are morons and while faux news likes to brag about their ratings, THEY CAN'T WIN ELECTIONS! Republicans will never get into the Whitehouse without a visator's pass. Those clowns can have their ratings.....WE'LL TAKE THE WHITEHOUSE! SUCK IT HARD LOSERS!

No matter how much hope one has it's not the truth always over rides it.

Guess the birthers will have to go back to their tea parties until they can come up with another peice of "brilliant" psychosis to latch on to.

The birther silliness was dealt its final and concluding blow when congress certified the results of the election. Everything after that up to this point (and going forward) has just been purposely driven bullshit.

... seem to think this is a beauty pageant or something, where the 'runner up' gets the job if the winner can't fulfill their obligations.

Actually, the proper reply was never given. But, hey, let's just dump our laws in the shitter cause some people don't like the questions being asked of the leader of our country. We shouldn't be free to ask.
That would mean we are thinking for ourselves. You're right. That's a bad idea. Everybody raise your right hand. No extend your fingers and thumb. You know what to do next. I can smell your anticipation. Oh, and don't forget to keep your knees locked when you march.

The article puts the question, "So, how long will CNN continue to parrot Fox News and right wing clowns like Limbaugh and Beck in perpetuating this right wing myth? I guess as long as it gets ratings..."

To which I feel compelled to say:

WE keep it alive by paying attention to it.

Ignore it and get back to HEALTH CARE PLAN PLEASE!!!!

We should ignore EVERYTHING until we get HEALTH CARE

Don't you think? Maybe these jerk offs in congress will get the idea when WE THE PEOPLE REFUSE AT LONG LAST TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT?

HEALTH CARE PEOPLE.

Let's get back on track before we loose it again.

:(

... to keep an eye on the big picture. The birther bullshit is part of the right-wing extremist fringe that is increasingly vocal and increasingly violent. Ignore them at your peril. (That's not to say they deserve equal time in which they are treated to a polite discussion of their wackaloon theories over tea and scones, but to persistently and rationally debunk their garbage.)

In case you haven't noticed, C&L has been right on top of the healthcare debate. Nobody's 'losing track' of anything.

wing lunacies should be kept in the public's consciousness. Because they've been so crazy for so long, we may tend to downplay the seriousness of their threat. "Losing track" of the nuts would be very dangerous, however.

If four years ago, someone had told me that a large vein of the opposition to the Obama administration would come from people who believe that his birth certificate had been falsified and that he really wasn't even an American, I would not have believed 'em. "The rightwing is effing nuts," I would have said, "but no one is THAT effing nuts."

And yet here we are. The election last year was a blowout, but the loons still can't accept that a Democratic, fairly liberal, black guy is in the White House because their preachers told them that God would see to it that McCain/Palin would win. I can't begin to imagine to what depths the rightwing has yet to descend. We need to keep our eyes on them.

Sorry, but when a swiftboaty wacko conspiracy gang gets the Congress to pass a resolution in response to the wacko conspiracy, the wackos win. Talk about the tail wagging the dog.

Sure, but don't forget that the republicanzi in congress are wacko too!

The thing is CNN knows just as well as we do what Lou Dobss is and what he's doing. Yet they are unwilling to do the right thing, so far...

47 years ago a baby was born in Kenya. Kenya, along with the state of Hawaii conspired to have that baby transferred along with proper documentation (i.e. forged birth certificate) to said U.S. state. All the while knowing that one day that baby would grow up to be the Muslim-Kenyan President of the U.S.

All with the complicity of the FBI, the Pentagon, Secret Service, State Department and every other agency that checks on these sorts of things. And now Congress is in on the whole thing.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Actually, if you go to virtually any other country there are still current television programs/TV Media news coverage/Radio media news coverage/and Movies still being made about most things you so lovingly joke about.
9/11, Illuminati, 2012, Chemtrails (even here in the USA with a recent conference of hundreds in California), New world order agenda, Bilderberg group, Bohemian grove, etc...
Just because you're so uninformed on these issues does no make them laughable. Do i agree with all of them? No. But i do not take solace in the fact that my country leaves me out in the cold on all of these issues while other countries talk about them in the open. Makes me believe some of them may be true. I am not a 'fringe' element. But i seek information from all angles. And, this Obama thing... this does not answer it. If i was born in Egypt, that would not make me an Egyptian citizen. IF i were not already a citizen. Nothing here has been proven. Just that politicians can still get away with 'potentially' twisting the truth to their advantage. Big surprise!
I'm just sayin'.

For some reason it did not end up that way. Sorry.

Give it up, sunshine. It's over. Done. Finished. If you STILL have questions about the President's birth, then you haven't been paying attention.

Just because people in other countries write/do movies/talk about these "conspiracies" doesn't make them any more believable that the whack-a-loons in THIS country. It just means there are more people who have a few screws loose running around in public.

No

Not really. Only in the sense that people lump me in with all of those derogatory terms related to this particular thought process.
I did not vote last election. However, i was pulling for Obama to win. But, i simply cannot put down the law and accept a half-assed answer to an important issue related to the simplest of things to provide the public eye to view. This is not an optional thing to provide. This is a must. What was provided was not what was asked for. No matter what paper someone wishes into reality, it does not make it real. If i provide a receipt for a license to a police officer when he demands my license, i should now be able to tell the officer that he has no right to demand my real license. His argument would be that it is a not a right to drive, i have to provide a real license. Guess what, that thing that was paraded before the public eye recently was NOT an actual Birth certificate. If you STILL have questions about that then you haven't been paying attention.
And, it is a bit presumptuous to believe that JUST because these people consider things differently than you that they have 'screws loose'. It is no more or less believable that we have been duped with inaccurate information than to believe that there are various groups of people worldwide who are planning a coup that will result in a world government and world currency. Why not? Can you prove they are not there? Can you also prove Obama is NOT from Kenya? It's all in question. It's just that some questions matter more than others. Do you really want the Terminator to be our next potential president? This man's daddy marched in Hitler's army. Back in the 70's he did an interview where he stated he admired and wanted to be like Hitler himself!

I tried to get all spectrums of the media with those.

Now, the reason I am concerned? We already have a NAZI Pope (Benedict) who actually MARCHED with Hitler's army himself, George W. Bush's great grandfather was Hitler's personal advisor (Prescott Bush) and on and on in our current government. If we cannot prove (as in a court of law) BEYOND a reasonable doubt on this issue we could wind up in a frightening position in the USA.
I am considering the future. I couldn't give a crap less who or what Obama is as a president. I care what the ultimate result of not caring enough for total submission will get us in the very near future. It would not matter who the 'resident' is in this matter. This is a question of respecting law and trying to nip a potentially serious issue in the bud. By simply calling me a 'Birther' you are not allowing yourself or anyone else to think any deeper than the mainstream media allows you. I don't know about you, but I respect the law.

In my last post here the final link listed was strangely 'omitted'.
It is for i n f o w a r s (that is what was missing).
Sheesh. Just because it is a 'conspiracy' site that doesn't mean it should be ignored.
All information is important. And when you censor something from a website that has already been reported on for OVER 30 YEARS by every major (and most minor) publications simply because you disagree with the website... Censorship is for fools.
It's quite sad that this information is so feared that a respectable website like this must restrict admission to this website.
I wonder how many websites censor your web address?
Probably none. Even 'crazies' try to respect others opinions.

As Taitz most assuredly did not acquire her Russian accent here in the US and is most likely a naturalized citizen:

She can be deported under very strict laws that she is in clear breach of based on "insurrection" against a sitting President and the government of the United States.

Department of Immigration takes those laws very seriously and welcomes a phone call to be notified of naturalized citizens breaching their oath to the nation.

...that the birthers will focus on: is Hawaii actually part of the United States?
