Wingnut Elisabeth Hasselbeck Accused Of Plagiarism

alg_hasselbeck-palin_b9821.jpg

There have been a number of right wingers who have been accused of plagiarism and lifting other's work in recent years. Most notably, Cindy McCain, Ann Coulter and Ben Domenech and more recently, Sarah Palin was caught lifting passages from Newt Gingrich. Now, an author has accused wingnut Elisabeth Hasselbeck of lifting her content "word for word" in her new book:

BOSTON – The author of a health book has sued Elisabeth Hasselbeck, accusing the co-host of ABC's "The View" of plagiarism.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in federal court in Massachusetts, alleges that Hasselbeck lifted "word for word" content from a book written by Susan Hassett, a self-published author on Cape Cod.

Hassett said in the lawsuit that she sent Hasselbeck a personal note and copy of her "Living With Celiac Disease" book as a courtesy after the television celebrity disclosed she had the illness last year.

Wasn't that nice of Elisabeth? Hassett was kind enough to send her a copy of her book, only to find out that she lifted parts of it to write her own. Not only does she lift passages, Hassett claims that Hasselbeck's book contains bogus and possibly dangerous information:

Hassett said Hasselbeck's book "slavishly reproduces" lists and passages from her own work and includes inaccuracies about celiac disease that can be "misleading and dangerous" for people with the illness. Read on...

sure are a stupid bunch, ain't they?

Is this the pub pair?
Which one is the pres can-di-date and which the vp(palin)? oops sorry .
I answered my own question.

All Republicans are accidents of nature. You have to keep them separated, or they will just turn politics into 'Lord of the Flies' again.

I think every one of them needs therapy.

I looked at the picture and was sickened. My co-worker who cares little about politics, looked at it and commented he thought both ladies are "hot."

I cannot even see any outer beauty because their insides are so rotted.

Why do you think knuckle-dragging redneck men were coming out to Palin's rallies?

Certainly wasn't for politics, most were standing there with a woodie, drooling and planning on making friends with Rosie Palm and her five sisters that night with their precious memories of Sarah.

Hot

Is that Hasselbeck some kind of beauty queen or something? If she ain't, she ought to be. I'd believe anything that came out of her.

Between Repukes it is not seen as plagiaism as they are all part of the hive.
And in this case Hassett/Hasselbeck, how was she to know.....stupid bunch indeed.

Shit...I didn't know she could read!

)O(

The only writing experiences she has is deleting the word Dick from Dick and Jane readers.

Is Celiac Disease when you click on a link over and over again, even though it doesn't work, you just keep clicking?

I think I've got it.

Sounds insane.

Try clicking on the Celiacs Disease in the above article to see if you have it too.

What's that old expression?
"Insanity is doing the same thing in the same way over and over again and expecting a different outcome."

Oh, and the link is broken.

Wasn't 'Lizbeth slated to be McCain's press secretary, had he won the election?

but gramps wanted her to press something..

This woman gets her talking points every morning. There is nothing she says that is original; she even got President Obama's Cairo's speech wrong when she said he didn't say Democracy in his speech
Which Keith Oblermann pointed out later that evening that the President stated it several times, but this is what happens when you didn't actually watch or listen to the speech and you are simply emailed a list of things to say.

And on another note check out this Morning Joe Clip

Okay where is the Morning Joe Clip where Chris Matthews got into a great heated discussion with Joe, Mika and Dylan on Healthcare; it was quite fun. He looked like he frustrated the whole bunch because he wouldn't back down.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvlQ_tTpHUc&fe...

We should not spend money haphazardly without asking how much. That's a valid question, and it should be addressed.

Instead, Matthews simply asked whether Scarborough was committed to getting a bill done. Personally, I'm all for changing the present model because I think it is nonsensical from a financial perspective. But I'm not for change for change's sake.

Matthews could have resolved all of this by asking Scarborough whether he would agree to any model, including a single-payer system, if good faith projections demonstrated that it would was fiscally responsible and cost-effective for consumers. That's the question. Indeed, the problem with the right isn't its opposition to changing the present healthcare model; the problem with the right is its allegedly ideological opposition (although I think it's safe to say its opposition is driven less by ideology and more by the insurance industry's lobbying efforts) to changing the present healthcare model regardless of whether a different system would (i) deliver better care to (ii) more people for (iii) less money.

If Scarborough disagrees with that kind of result, then he's guilty of the same largesse for which he chides Bush and Obama.

Look at those boobs!!!! LOL

The one in pink or the other one?

HA!

Zing!

Boobs usually come as a pair.

Imagine trying to listen to those bimbos.

and Rosie Perez debating string theory would be infinitely more fun.

)O(

LOL! BOTH!

Does anyone really think this woman is smart enough to write her own book.

)O(

That's a hideous outfit, lime green, collared like a PTA hausfrau...

Why can't she wear something like:

http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpapers/celeb...

an insult to the dress

Hasselbeck would lose the case, have to shell out $$$ and then get fired from ABC. Will this happen? I have my doubts.

Any credibility she had (none) is gone now.

Yep. O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter, Beck, Savage, Ahmadinejad, Paris Hilton, The former Miss California...

What publisher in their right mind would publish a book by Lizzy? Good for the other author for standing up for herself, I hope she wins her case.

Murdoch, that is.

Is goin on with the site today?
I keep getting a Site Offline message.

Same here, must be maintenance time.

Sorry. I broke it a little bit ago. Follow a link out, click back page, then refresh. I think it freaks out the comment software.

I shoulda know'd it was you.

.

Every time you insult a Repub, God crashes a Lib site.

That's pretty good liberalicious. I was worried it was every time I was doing something else. Then I would have to apologize many, many times over.

I think they went off line for a while because one of the hamsters came in with a hangover this morning and about noon he just crapped out on them and fell out of his wheel. It takes a while to find a good replacement hamster these days.

when this stupid fucked up bunch start tripping all over their dicks. I can hardly wait to hear the bogus nonsensical reason for this egregious 'oversight' on Hasselbeck's part.

Book pulping, anyone?

"tripping all over their dicks"???
Is there something about Ms Hasselbeck we should (or should not) know?

Or is this a reference to Dick Cheney falling out of his wheelchair?

mkay?

'kay
j/k ;p

I LMAO...me too

Damn internets. ya can't tell w/o smilies

Straight from the Rovian handbook. It's the #2 rule. The #1 rule is: If you repeat a lie 5 times, it becomes true.

some people are simply uncomfortable with the idea of strong, intelligent, moral women of righteous conviction who speak truth to power and are able to maintain irreproachable feminine dignity at the same time. In my neck of the woods we call them lady. I understand in your 'hood the term "lady" has different connotations. Just a difference in the plain and simple quality of people. miss_kitty as contrasted to Palin and Hasselbeck.

Turn on your tv, governor of North Carolina is about to tell us about his great adventure

It's SOUTH Carolina...the stupider of the Carolinas...thank you very much!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Bubye presidential bid

It's ALMOST the same thing. Cut him some slack.

Are there hillbillies in Argentina?

In every country, you can find them.

I think they're called gypsies in europe.

)O(

In Britain and Ireland, they'e called travellers.

pikers.
Ya like degs?

not sure but i want to ski their some day.

You can ski in West Virginia, but if you start hearing banjo music coming from the woods, head straight for the lodge.

)O(

My bad. I was typing in a hurry and blew it. Besides, aren't all the Carolinas the same. ;)

You did NOT just just go there!!!

okay they are pretty close, but the Upper Carolina has an NFL team...pretty fancy eh?

if you've seen one Carolina you've seen 'em all!

Maybe he'll be able to tell us what the Gov. of South Carolina's been up to as well.

These two may just be the first of the Repukes attempt at salvation. Two binary-thinking, jingoistic, woman-hating, Disney-esque distortions of what it is to be a woman in the 21st century may be the public face to the basement/backroom strategies of Newt/Darth/John the Bomb in their quest to retain power for their masters, the failed elites. After all, public relations/image making/false populism was a hallmark of Mussolini's corporatist fascism.

They're both really popular, aren't they?

for these two together add up to 126. neither one of them is interesting or real.

You're being quite generous today. 3 digits?

I think you left out the decimal point

That stupid bitch Hasselbeck probably thought no one would notice the difference.

Oops, seems like they have changed the time that Sanford will speak until 2:30 instead of 2:00

I guess he's got the time zones confused also.

I'll repeat my post from Huff Post:

BAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........takes breath......

BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'll repeat my post from Huff Post:

BAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........takes breath......

BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

i think at least at this point in time palin will be the set-up person for romney. she will get the likes of the evangelicals and the phoney hypocrites in orange county lathered them up but turn them over to romney. i don't see palin having any chance in the 2012 election.

Or do you too find the BLOND ANGLO BARBI DOLL types to be the "typical" GOP mis-informational dispensary units these days?

Sarah, which they teach in Bible class.

)O(

Sieg

Frau?

Republicans get their ideas from a central casting service. We all know this. How else can you explain that when a certain stance on an issue gets made by someone, it gets made by all of them at the same time. All of a sudden Sarah, Lisabeth, Sean, Britt, Glenn, Rush and Newt - just to mention a few -- are all saying pretty much the same thing at the same time.

So over time, they all learn to think less and less on their own. So it just logically follows that they may inadvertently carrry this over a bit too far sometimes.

So when they quote verbatim from someone for a speech or book or magazine article, we need to be more kind. They just get a bit carried away. You'd get confused too over separating what you really believed versus what you are called upon to say. Pretty soon you don't know what you believe, until, of course, you get the updated memo.

And for those who don't get the memos, you can watch Faux. They'll tell you what to believe.

So be kind people!!!!

Republicans just steal their ideas from others after all they feel they are God's chosen people and are entitled to do so.

of their hive mentality, they think as a collective - they have one brain shared between all members of the hive. Its kind of like the Borg, only a lot dumber, with 0 power and with no capacity to assimilate others into the hive with an IQ in excess of their shoe size.

but I get a dreadful feeling that in the future people won't be able to utter or write one thought without being accused of stealing or plagiarism. Or taking someones intellectual "property".

Intellectual property. Who knew one corporation could own everything?

Like I've always said when people have their fingers out like that:

"Don't point that thing, we don't know where it's been."

Is this the kind of piracy that means a $20,000 per copy liquidated damages award or is that only for college kids and single mothers?

with another dumb blond wannabee neocon...w/ better boobies....Carrie Prejean/Miss California!?!

doesn't mean better boobs.

I think she's even dumber than Hasselbeck. Prejean is the classic dumb blond. She actually makes me think all those jokes could be true.
*

if you change one word like "is" or "was" in the sentence then it is not plagiarism. You know, like when Vanilla Ice changed the timing on one note in the bassline of Queen's "Under Pressure" and proclaimed "it's not the same!" Of course, 'ol Robbie lost his ass in court and had to credit the members of Queen and David Bowie as songwriters on "his" track. Remember, Palin had no respect for the Wilson sisters and their work "Barracuda," and continued to use the song at her rallies despite them politely asking she stop.

No one really thought this moron was capable of producing an accurate and intelligent piece of writing, did they?

So she's just like every other re=Thug -- a thief and a liar.

n/c

...so what is Elizabeth Hasselbeck's claim to fame anyhow? She gets a good dye job every two weeks?

...

Barbara Walters: Veteran TV reporter.

Whoopi Goldberg: Comedian & Oscar-winning actress.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck: Survivor contestant.

Will somebody please tell me why this fucking bim deserves to be on television at all?

Hasselbeck wouldn't last a day without getting her roots done! Pathetic.

My guess is that this is true, since Hasselbeck ain't sharp, but do we have any proof of this yet? Currently, this is only an allegation. I imagine within the next week or two we can see a comparison of passages.
