Does the Holbrooke Charter require all to bow, worship and pray to Hal Holbrooke?

most of these people held in Gitmo were not Terrorist so there is nothing to keep on file except what they didn't find and/or the torture needlessly inflicted!

More proof that Obama cannot turn a blind eye to the crimes of Bushco.

would they expect to find? "Prisoner number 34-76b was tortured at 9AM, 11AM, 1PM, 3PM...."???

Well, those guys ARE pretty anal retentive.

The right whiners will be claiming that Bush never existed and all the world's woes were caused by the Obama and Clinton admins.

What did you think threw Darth's back out trying to remove from the scene of the crime? And thanks for the link.

This is a cancer that originated at Fox and has metastasized throughout the "body journalistic." I remember when Greenwald's Out-Foxed first demonstrated it so clearly.

He inherated the presidencey!
What he did with it was a travesty (someone interpret that last word for Bushies)
All the warnings and PDBs couldn't make Humpty Dumpty Pay attention to Terra!
Poor pathetic little man!
History should judge him Harshly!

Let's say you want to get from Point A to Point B.

It's necessary, in order to do this, to know where point B is...what it looks like.

That's the problem with all discussions of and proposals for economic stimulus. What does Point B look like? What are we aiming for as an endpoint?

For sure, it doesn't look like a manufacturing economy here in the U.S.

Nor does it look like the recently deceased borrow-and-spend economy of 1980-2008.

I'd like to know where the train is going before I hop aboard.

The call to hop aboard, all by itself, isn't compelling.

I wasn't aware they had a shortage...

There are no flies on the GITMO prisoners. There were flies, but with all the improvements, it really is just like Club MED.

They are not helpful.

Toxic Assets - Illiquid Assets…

Let us clear up exactly what these mean.

1 - Forensic audits of the major banks.

2 - Repeat number 1 until complete.

3 - Disgorgement of ill gotten gains and jail time for crooks.

During the savings-and-loan crisis, this detox facility was called the Resolution Trust Corp. Now, as a shorthand, people are just calling it the "Bad Bank."

If those toxic assets are synthetic CDOs they may be worth zero. If they are CDSs they may be worth less than zero. The comparison to the RTC is not necessarily a good one.

Before we create this Mother of All Bad Banks, let's know exactly what is on the books of the Bad Banks we already have.

Reminding anyone that Nader (before and after the bailout) seems to have been the only one to propose it will not necessarily helpful, but Nader's ideas were uniformly well thought out.

One in particular, was his proposal that any institution that receives public money should be prohibited from further lobbying. Unfortunately that is not yet the case. It is not even mentioned. We give them hundreds of billions and they use part of it to lobby for even more.

That is our corrupt congress at work.

for inane comments.

Congratulations, your get the second silliness award.

Read the Nader links that I provided.

Nader has done more for you than your mother which vis á vis thoughtfulness appears not to have been much.

Your reaction pinpoints why Mr. Nader and his humorless followers don't understand the high regard in which they are not held.

In college I had a roommate who was Naderite PIRG person and another who joined Scientology. One was in a fanatical cult of personality. The other played with toys.

you mean Public Interest Research Group, I don't know by definition what is wrong with that.

Scientology is a racket.

Nader's list of accomplishments on behalf of the people of the country is a mile long.

What have you done on behalf of the country other than making inane comments?

Here is one article on Nader, there are many others.

I am tempted to put at the top of his most illustrious list of accomplishments: the Freedom of Information Act.

It is of singular importance.

Your ignorance is understandable, it comes from apathy and lack of effort to find out the facts before you shoot off your mouth.

"What have you done on behalf of the country other than making inane comments."

"Nader has done more for you than your mother."

Alice X Looking Glass

Let's discuss the topic shall we, which is the looming addition of yet another layer of the trillions thrown at the Fat Cats.

And more precisely that they have no restraint on their lobbying of Congress for more.

Do you know anything at all about this topic.

If not, cease and desist.

I will not respond any further to you juvenile antics.

GOP Congressman Cantor's Wife's Bank Did Well in the Bailout -
Aram Roston

Snip - When a powerful Republican congressman's wife is hired by a bank, and the bank gets a federal taxpayer bailout worth hundreds of millions, what does it mean?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/aram-roston/gop...

but read in one of the links above that the banking industry spends over 100 million/year lobbying. I'd say it is long overdue to ban lobbying. Period.

If you'd like another laugh after reading Matt Taibbi's article, Forbes.com places Friedman at number four in its list of the 25 Most Influential Liberals in the US Media. Maureen Dowd is #15.

No files? That's not what this Military Prosecutor said.

PS. To all the radical non-believers, remember "understanding" takes time. Who knows more of what radicals believe, then those cut from the same cloth, so too speak. :-) If you care to watch the youtube, I would suggest, the harsh critics of believers revaluate their broad remarks. It tends to be counterproductive.

Assclowns of the Year #75 is now up, and this one is a doozy. Far from the weekly list of the top 10 assclowns of the week, this is a year-end retrospective of 50 of the biggest assclowns of 2008. A must-read.

The misadministration of George Putz mishandled Enron and Wall Street (MCI, anyone?), mishandled two wars (both in starting them and in running them), mishanded Katrina (five days before AND five days after), mishandled the trial of Saddam (the ONE crime he couldn't have done he was convicted of), mishandled the Palestinians (What? Freely choose their own leaders?!), and mishandled the justice department (150 short bus graduates from Liberty Diploma Mill), among other acts of incompetence.

And we're supposed to believe that he didn't fv@k up the records at Guantanamo Bay?

That's a load of Guano.

"Newseum"? What a joke.

Just from Europe, where's the Times of London, the Guardian, Le Monde? And the only paper listed for France isn't even French - it's American.

Every newspaper that I could identify on there was a trash paper, a New York Post style junk paper.
