Lobbyist for Saddam gave $40,000 to Republican Senate and House Campaign Committees

Venners was a partner in the influence venture on behalf of Saddam Hussein’s regime with William Timmons, a Washington lobbyist who was tapped by John McCain to play a leading role in his presidential transition team, according to federal court records and pubic investigative reports by the United Nations."

And as Obama is trying to run a positive campaign with integrity,I think he will avoid going negative, and won't use this potential ammo against McCain...

William Timmons will be the weekend "noose" around John McCain's neck as this story spreads like wildfire. Everyone knows that John McCain is a dishonorable liar now and surrounds himself with the most dispicable crooks in this country. He's a total hypocrite at this point - everyone knows this.

Republicans will take money from any source - they don't care until they get caught. Then the excuse will be: "Democrats are doing it, too!" Time to vote them out at all levels of government!!

So Venners gave money to the GOP. He's allowed to.
So Venners and Timmons lobbied for an easing of sanctions against Iraq. Sanctions are simply a political tool to convince voters that the US government is "doing something" and actually only serve to entrench the regime being sanctioned at the cost of further depriving that regime's citizens.
So Venners and Timmons worked with Vincent and Park. That doesn't mean that Venners or Timmons broke the law.
The fact that Senator McCain has a lot of lobbyists in his campaign team was relevant because he was claiming otherwise. The fact that individual lobbyists give money to the GOP is not worth the mention.
Better to lift sanctions than invading and killing and maimining a substantial part of the population. One hell of a lot cheaper too.
...because it underlies the fact of how utterly and completely corrupted our government is! Anything for MONEY.
Holy crap, we have lobbyists spending money on both side of every freakin' war!! And who makes these laws?? - the rotten Congress people who either were lobbyists before they got elected - or become lobbyists after they "retire."
I freely admit to being a """conspiracy theorist""" because every single damn day there is more and more evidence that the big money interests in this country and world control everything - they even decide if you, or your son or daughter will have to die creating and defending their profits.!!

This story has been around and the media wont touch it. The media doesnt have a great history of confronting McCain. The obama campaign isnt using it (probably dont need it). The internet is where this story will begin and end.

Saddam had many men made to look like him and was even given time to get out of Iraq. Bush/Cheney often report the same Al Queada leader killed over and over again. Don't be surprised if Saddam really isn't dead nor his son's who the US never did identify. Now as the President of Egypt is a Sunni and so is Saddam don't be surprised if the real Saddam is watching TV as we speak. We've seen the Leaders of the Middle East are much smarter then the Bush Administration. Just remember this posting it could happen you never know.
