Much remains unclear about the substance of the “significant actions” that CIA Director Leon Panetta conceded that the agency didn’t sufficiently brief to Congress. What’s absolutely crystal clear is that for days on end, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough popped off at the mouth about how the CIA would never ever never mislead Congress and how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) “needs to shut up” instead of saying otherwise.
What? Expecting Joe Scarborough to be intellectually honest and acknowledge his role in the smearing of a Democratic politician? *Snort* Like that will ever happen.

I just watched Bill Moyers Journal on Health care and went to the PBS site and attempted to mention my petition for single payer health care as a reply to the blog entry tonight.

PBS is not what it used to be. Instead of dropping Moyers, recognize that he is now in unfriendly territory at PBS and give him more support.

It is great that Nancy was proven right, but the way she handled it was pretty ham fisted. She was inartful in her presentation and started a poop storm with the media and CIA.

He's a coward and can't look his viewers in the [camera] eye and say that he was wrong to call Pelosi a liar -- on several occasions--earlier this Spring. Instead he pretends that he never strayed from the side of friendship with her. Hey Joe! Be a MAN and say you were wrong!

Lori Klausutis, a 28-year-old office worker for Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-Fl), was found dead in the congressman's district office. Police said preliminary findings from the medical examiner's office showed no foul play or any outward indication of suicide."
Unbelievably, that was it. The story was simply dropped. A young female employee of one of Florida's Congressmen had died unexpectedly in the Congressman's office. There were no witnesses to her death and the cause of death was not apparent. Klausutis' boss, Joe Scarborough resigned from Congress prematurely and unexpectedly, amid rumors about his marital fidelity.

How many 28-year-olds do you know who just dropped dead for no apparent reason?
Well we supposedly had a "virgin birth" so I guess a virgin death is possible in a "creationism theory".
1. The day she died, Scarborough was giving interviews saying she had "health" problems. He dropped that after the family denied it.
2. The Medical Examiner, a Jeb Bush political appointee, had been fired from his previous job for incompetence. He, and the police, later admitted lying about the cause of death "to spare the Congressman, (Scarborough) any embarrassment".
3. All mention of Klausutis, including pictures of her on her college's website were removed from the internet within a couple of days of her death. She was effectively "disappeared".
4. Her obituary listed all of her many accomplishments in the Republican Party, including such achievments as being elected Treasurer of her local party, but left out that she had gotten a position as an aide to a US Congressman.
No mention at all of her biggest political and career accomplishment at the time of her death. Interesting ommission, considering how important the party was to her.
5. This happened during the time that Congressman Gary Condit was being tried and found guilty by the national media for the disappearence of Chandra Levy, a death he had nothing to do with and, at the time Levy was only missing, not a dead body in a Congressman's office.
But the national media never told the country about the dead body in a Republican Congressman's office, in fact, even the Florida papers did not report it. One Panhandle paper, owned by friends of Scarborough, printed a quick article immediately exonerating Joe - and that was it, Lori Klausutis disappeared as if she had never existed, gone from her college website, gone from the Congressman's office, gone from her local community.
By the way, although the Medical Examiner, who ended up being fired for incompetence again, claimed that she had died from passing out and hitting her head on the corner of a desk, her body was found over 5 feet away from the desk. And the injury to her head from "hitting the desk" as she was "passing out" was so severe that she sustained rebound hematomoas on the opposite side of her brain from where she was struck, er, fell into the desk.
That means she would have had to have hit the desk with her head with such force that it threw her across the room and caused an injury severe enough to cause a rebound injury in her brain - all just by passing out.
She was an athelete who ran marathons. She was married, her husband had a classified position at a nearby military installation. He, and her family, never said a word publicly, except to deny that she had health problems.
Joe, who had just won re-election by a wide margin, pulled a Palin and quit Congress right after this, claiming he wanted more time with his family, who he immediately left. He moved to New York and got his TV career started.
Joe is in it for Joe, don't get in his way. Maybe that's why Mika is so obsequious to him.
This is off-topic, but that last shot of Mika sipping her late on camera is just disgusting! Can you imagine any professional newscaster drinking a sponsored drink on air? I realize that there has been talk of this before, but I had no idea it was so crass and crude.
I think you have to say one thing and do another to be a hypocrite. The thing is, Joe doesn't DO anything.
I think it would be more accurate to say he is a talentless, thoughtless dumb ass who gets paid a lot of money to make shit up as he goes along. You do THAT long enough and eventually you will contradict yourself. You may even get something right, if only by accident.
...for nothing more than being (ignorant) opposition to their more liberal night-time line-up. The three mainstays of "Morning Joe" have about 80 IQ points between them.

Morning Joe is retarded. I literally can't watch it for more then 15 seconds. It is painful. Why do they put us through this? During the election I felt a little sorry for Mika but now I find her just as irritating. When did morning shows become so visceral? Mika BFF with Palin over Letterman. For mothers everywhere. PLZ. I am so sick of these guys. I wish MSNBC would just go progressive. I don't see anything redeeming about Joe. And if he guarantees me one more thing, I am going to puke.
And while they are at it. Get a Muslim, a Hindu, and a Buddhist on there. Is there some Irish catholic thing going on? I remember Mathews spending a whole show on that Ricci thing. Do you think he would have run with that story if it wasn't a Irish Catholic? When was the last time he did a segment on a black man losing a job to a white guy? What he can't find one?
Go to 1:10 in the timeline. Joe asks Willie if he'd ever been caught in a lie. Barnicle was sitting right next to Willie and as soon as Joe asks the question, Barnicle starts to squirm and looks over at Willie. Did Joe ask Barnicle if he lied? LOL
Joe drives me nuts and I swear to God, Mika is getting to be just as bad!

If Joe Scarborough is who MSNBC wants to be on in the morning so they don't get tagged as the "liberal FOX", fine (and yes, I know they aren't like FOX, but some have tried that tag in other places). At least he's not on the level of douchebaggery that O'Reilly, Hannity, etc. are. Really, I wish MSNBC would get rid of Buchanan, but that's another story.
I think Scarborough was kind of a d*** to Pelosi over this scandal and he did use Paneta's words against her all the time when that whole back and forth was initially started. He should apologize, but as many others have said, he won't. That's not even the thing that will anger me the most though - Mika is.
I like her father, and sometimes I can deal with her, but most of the time, she seems to have this little school girl crush on Joe and will do acrobatics to defend him and sometimes even the crap he spews forth from his mouth even though she doesn't agree with it... oh and her incessant whining about "poor Sarah Palin".
The more you watch of Joe, the more you come to realize just what a pompous dishonest jerk he really is. That's why I don't watch him anymore. And Mika doesn't have the nads to stand up to him.
She simpers and grovels, and does this wierd imitation of a 1950's housewife, "Oh, you boys!" And her body language to Scaborough is just pathetic. My dog leans towards me that way when he wants to be petted too.

let's get this straight then....the CIA lied to CONgress (supposedly) about their torture and murder programs. OK. Now the admission is ol' Nancy didn't really know anything about it. OK. So now that it is out in the public, if it is true, then why the f*ck isn't Congress doing something about it? Who, at the CIA has been fired? Who is getting investigated? Who is shaking in their boots waiting for the hammer to fall? Answer? Nobody. Why? Because Congress knew, that's why. Otherwise impeachment wouldn't have been "off the table" and investigations would have started in January when the new administration came into power. This is nothing more than a soap opera spin to ensure those in power aren't held responsible for anything, regardless whether they are D's or R's. And people are buying it. Civil servants lie, but politicians don't. Ya, right.

I've never seen one comment at this site campaigning for one party rule. The elimination of the present day Republican party would be a good thing for the nation. Hopefully then a true Conservative party(you know, similar to the one Teddy R. invisioned) would emerge.

I saw a clip where Joe was so upset that someone called him disingenuous and the sad part is the person who called him out could not come up with even one of Joe's many many examples he has given us over the years.
Scarborough, like all repugs, stands firmly against the values of America - Hell, I keep asking people I know who support the repugs "what is a concervative value" and not one of them has given me an answer yet. I believe it's because they have no values.
Maybe he's pissed that the CIA pulled the wool over his eyes when HE was in congress...
Just because the CIA admits misleading congress doesn't mean that Pelosi isn't full of it.

Of COURSE the CIA was lying - it's what they do, and what they've always done. The CIA is just as politicized a branch of the government as Congress or (sadly as is the case these days) the Supreme Court. (And everyone knows that conservatives will cry activist judges only when it comes to liberal members of the court, but if conservatives do the same thing they don't protest, which is flamboyantly hypocritical.) For instance - the CIA's involvement in Afghanistan when the Soviet Union was there: by the time they were arming and training the Taliban and Al Qaeda, the CIA already had the numbers on the Soviet economy that demonstrated the unsustainable spending the USSR was doing, however that information wasn't prioritized by either CIA executives or the Presidents that would have had access to the info that the USSR would collapse by the end of the 80s. (eg, Carter and Reagan - yet they both ran up a huge national debt stockpiling weapons, a huge component of why we have a $10 trillion debt.) Assistant Director of Counter Intelligence J.J. Angleton ADMITTED it - they knew. Furthermore, reading into the MKULTRA projects and also the various assassination attempts on Castro (such as trying to poison his wetsuit - so not kidding), and this was before the Bay of Pigs (a daring triumph...of stupidity!) and the missile crisis. I think at this point it's safe to say that the captains of US security and intelligence are drunk at the wheel. Oh, and at this point the memos from Richard Clark about an Al Qaeda attack before 9/11 could be mentioned, that were ignored because they had nothing to do with Iraq...which was Bush's agenda all along. I think Intelligence might be a misnomer at this point. Whether or not Nancy Pelosi is culpable...she's a cog in a large, perverse, stupid, and dysfunctional wheel - they would only let her know what they think she's supposed to. She IS full of it, but that goes with the territory. Find me one Congressperson who isn't solipsistic swine and a jabbering dupe to boot, that has anything remotely resembling interest in something other than their continued presence in office.
And Scarborough...perhaps it should be Tardborough...he's just as full of it. Another ridiculously narcissistic pig in a suit. The fact that they let these people go to college and have any responsibility beyond running a mop is astounding.
