UPS Dumps Bill O'Reilly Sponsorship: They're Just Not Into Stalkers

In response to our Stop Supporting The O’Reilly Harassment Machine campaign, UPS told us yesterday that it was investigating whether to continue supporting O’Reilly’s show. “We are sensitive to the type of television programming where our messages and presence are associated and continually review choices to affect future decisions,” spokeswoman Susan Rosenberg told us.
Today UPS announced it will stop advertising on O’Reilly’s show. Here is the statement UPS emailed out just moments ago:
Thank you for sending an e-mail expressing concern about UPS advertising during the Bill O’Reilly show on FOX News. We do consider such comments as we review ad placement decisions which involve a variety of news, entertainment and sports programming. At this time, we have no plans to continue advertising during this show.
Can I get a Woot! for UPS? You just know this is going to make Billo nuts.

For UPS. I will try to refrain from impatience every time their drivers park in no-parking zones, on roads where they block traffic and it's dangerous to drive around them, etc. Because UPS is responsive. If they could just give their drivers more time to make deliveries so they're not quite so offensive, the company would be darn near perfect.

Even though I ultimately prefer to ship USPS, since I am trying to keep my work socially conscious whereever I can, maybe I should offer UPS for really expident shipping! :)
UPS is better than either the USPS or FedEx, and faster too. I always opt for UPS when given a choice
I always tend to prefer to recieve my own online orders via UPS, because USPS loses some things occasionally, or delivers them late, despite the best efforts of the merchant. I'll have to march over to the UPS site today and see what kind of options I have for arranging shipments online and whatnot. There's a UPS shipping box next to the USPS box I drop my filled orders in, so it should prolly be just as convienient! :)

A network gets its money from advertising. Without advertising they cease to exist. I'm sure right now the higher ups are a little worried about the rest of his sponsors and telling BillO to tone it down before UPS pulls out completely from FOX or other sponsors pull out. BillO may bring in the viewers but the viewers don't pay him, advertisers do. I'm sure they're realizing that this isn't good exposure that a company this huge is willing to pull advertising from a show with as many viewers he has. Now if it was a show like Red Eye they would just brush it off.
Since his ego ate his soul years ago maybe it will stave.
It's hard to say what BillO would do, but A)he's not smart; B)he has a very nasty temper; and C)he is quite vindictive. So, you never know.
My local UPS delivery is so pretty, she even looks good in brown. Now I find out they decided not to advertise with Billo. Sounds good to me!

I've just marched over to Think Progress and sent emails to Billo's remaining sponsors. I expanded on their form letter to say that as a rape survivor, I believe that the sponsors should reject Billo's cruel comments about Jennifer Moore, reject his stalking of people who disagree with him, and if they don't, I will think twice about using their products and/or services.
Now I'm gonna have to have a cocktail in your honor tonight. One for you and another for Nicole. I don't think I'm gonna feel well tomorrow. :)

I generally cant afford 'em, and I do enjoy the occasional dram, but I am too much a drinker to sip single malt, no matter how fond I am. Simply cannot afford it. I drink modestly priced scotch so i don't have to drink cheap beer. Even cheap scotch is better scotch than cheap beer is any good as beer...
Probably I drink about a pint of scotch a day, starting at 4pm, local...I drink, like I said...I don't sip.
I told the doc how much I tipple and he said when he felt my liver he expected it to feel like a basketball. He was shocked that it was still relatively (i'm 63, been drinking for near 50 years) pliable...
My doctor told me I could have one drink for each day of my life.
The one in front of me takes me up to June 5, 1987.
I finished that one, now I'm on D-Day 1987. (hic)
For many years now, I have been a moderate to heavy drinker. Recently, I picked up an issue of a mens health magazine. In it, there was an article about what drinking ultimately can do to a person. How it can negatively affect your health, your personal relationships, your job, and your life in general. It was quite depressing, and it really got me to thinking. So I have decided. Thats it for me. No more reading.
I haven't had a drink or a smoke in two weeks now.
Doctors at the VA told me if I don't stop immediately, entirely, I will likely die in five years.

We need to continually contact all advertisers for people like O'Reilly, Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh and let them know what we think of who they are sponsoring. If sponsorship dollars vanish, so will they eventually. I know when it was rumored that Hannity was going to do a commercial for GMC I immediately sent a protest letter to the company. I don't know that I personally had any affect, but I never did see a car commercial from him broadcast. Hit them in the only place that hurts them.....their wallets!

Until the Presidential campaign last summer, I kind of thought Greta was one of the very few on Faux that might have been "Fair and Balanced." Not that I watched her show very much, but that's the impression I had.
Then, when McCain and Palin started palling around, Greta got real friendly with Palin and started defending her against the likes of David Letterman. I thought it was odd.
This past week, I've been reading how Greta's husband, one John P. Coale, is an advisor to Sarah Palin (although he claims it is an unpaid position). No wonder she had "exclusive" interviews with Palin in her home; no wonder she defends Palin...just last week she once again criticized David Letterman for joking about Palin.

I am not a fan of Bill but I always am amused by the people that pay such a fuss about him. There are people in the media who are obvious shrills for their views and it is on both sides. I hope you same O'Reilly haters also hate the liberal shrills as well.

Remember, even though Billo/FOX lost UPS account, other crooks and liars love Billo and Limpball. They will pump up their ads for FOX Network's hate shows because they follow Bush-Chenny orders!
UPS has a shell corporation based in Bermuda, Overseas Partners Limited (OPL), whose sole design is avoidance of United States income taxes. The IRS won the largest back taxes judgment in history against them in the late 1990's. The Bush administration dropped the case during the appeals process.
They are not good guys. I was in management there for 12 years. They are no fan of the Teamsters. They are not your friends and certainly not your ally. Decertify the Teamsters and watch how fast they skin you alive.
They are no fan of Democrats either. I was repeatedly informed by upper management that Democrats were a pale shade of the Communist Party. Their lobbying organization, UPSPAC, one of K Street's biggest, gives overwhelmingly to Republicans. When I left UPS in 1992 I turned in testimony and documents that detailed their tactics of forcing supervisors and management into donating to UPSPAC. The Federal Elections Commission filed a charge against UPS, in which, after a four year legal battle UPS agreed to pay a fine and to never engage in this behavior again (never get caught again).
I turned over to the EEOC internal company documents that resulted in a sealed judgment against UPS for age discrimination.
I turned over to attorney David Mark of Seattle, Washington, documents that proved UPS was aware of tactics that resulted in employees being forced to work through their unpaid lunch hour. The documents proved that UPS was aware of these facts and were actually tracking the number of affected employees on a national level, in spite of years of legal testimony to the contrary. The case resulted in a multi million dollar judgment aginst the corporate entity.
UPS, may be an authoritarian dinosaur in the business world, but they are extremely astute in avoiding bad press. In fact press clipping are gathered at a national and world wide level and studied with an intent as to how to influence positive press coverage. Example: one of the biggest contributors to National Public Radio is the Annie E. Casey Fund, This fund is named after the daughter of UPS's founder Jim Casey.
