Wasserman Schultz Rival Takes Aim At Rifle-Range Target Marked 'DWS'

A bunch of Broward County, Fla. Republicans convened at a local rifle range to talk politics and squeeze off a few rounds at bullseyes.
One of them was a poster of a scary dude in a traditional Middle Eastern headdress -- another was human likeness with the initials of local Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Among the members of the Southeast Broward Republican Club shooting their handguns and AK's Robert Lowry, who is waging an uphill campaign to unseat the popular Democratic incumbent in a district where D's outnumber R's two-to-one.
Lowry's target -- a paper silhouette -- had "DWS" written on it, a stunt Lowry first called a "joke" and later a "mistake."
You gotta love that "Culture of Life" the Republicans like to tout. Shooting at a target with your election rival's initials on it? Classy, classy, classy.

UPDATE: Wasserman Schultz has released a statement:
"There is nothing light or funny about pretending to shoot someone. At a time in our country when people are bringing guns to Town Hall Meetings and a preacher is calling for the death of our President, I find this type of action serious and disturbing. Tonight I am going to have to talk to my young children about why someone is pretending to shoot their mother. Trivializing violent behavior is the kind of extreme view that has no place in American politics."

Law enforcement to take some action. BEFORE someone is killed.
This kind of thing need to be punished period. If it's by law enforcement, poltical party, or whatever. It hasn't been discouraged and it's getting worse.

i have seen a pattern forming... repubes do something like this. something that is far from the norm and bordering on psycho. the get caught and firt spin it as a joke, an attempt at humor. then it is later admitted as a mistake. in their warped minds it is a mistake only because they were caught.
it is nothing less than sick and dangerous behavior that highkights their lack of respect for opposing views.

I wonder what the older Jewish lady who was getting a shooting lesson would have done if she had been told the "DWS" on the target stood for Debbie Wasserman Schultz (who I believe is also Jewish). A bit of heartbreaking irony, there.
By the way, the way that old lady handled that gun (firing at the wrong target, waving it around so that the handler had to push it back downrange) scared the shit out of me. If a bad guy ever ran into that old bag in an alley he'd have nothing to worry about; she'd be spraying bullets around and hit her cat, the dog, the garbage cans in the alley, anything BUT the bad guy!

I wouldn't be surprised if the nest GOP presidential candidate calls a news conference at a gun range while shooting at BHO target. This is what it takes to be accepted by what's left of their base. You think Rush and Beck wouldn't back up such behavior? Joe is one of the few conservative talk show hosts who would have enough sense to call BS...I hope...well, maybe...who knows anymore? They are all going crazy and it is scary. I think Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize just for not being insane and stupid. A damn good reason considering what we have given the world lately.
She should ask the court for a restraining order. Tell the judge that she is seriously concerned that a person is firing an assault weapon at her effigy. If granted, he would be barred from attending any parades, forums, etc. for the next year, giving her the upper hand in campaigning.
And when he cries foul? She gets to say over an over again that he was shooting her effigy during a public meeting of the Republican leaders in the county -- exposing the ALL for their wingnutiness.
Maybe in Sunny Isles Beach, but most of that region (Hollywood, Hallandale, Davie) is pretty Blue...

This is a really disturbing video. There is so much delusional thinking that it
bogglesBLOWS the mind. They love reinforcing these delusions. It's always about force, or the threat of using force, to intimidate. The more I see people like these, the more I wonder what happened to cause them to deny reality over and over again. The NRA, gun manufacturers, and gun lobbyists are raking in tons of cash on fomenting violence by pushing delusions, and because of this, I support gun control 100%. I have never believed that the Founding Fathers meant for Amendment II of the Coonstitution to be interpreted the way that these nuts interpret it. How many of these blowhards would volunteer to put their lives in danger by serving in a citizen militia if America was invaded by a foreign country or group when they won't volunteer to serve in the U.S. military? My guess is not many. Their self-preservation instinct would kick on to overdrive.Is exactly why I don't like associating with right-wing gun owners. They do a disservice to themselves, their beliefs, and the public discourse every time they pull this crap.
I may have gotten my training from an NRA instructor, but I'm not a member. These representative idiots are why.
Maybe I shouldn't post on this at all. I've been to firing ranges before and you can buy some pretty insulting paper targets. And it's never "funny" to make light of hurting or killing another human being, no matter how much you despise them.
