By Nicole Belle Sunday Oct 18, 2009 2:00pm
This Week with George Stephanopoulos marks the passings of singer/actor Al Martino, journalist Nan Robertson, aviation innovator Richard Whitcomb, and Wall Street executive Bruce Wasserstein. In addtion, the Pentagon has released the names of 4 servicemembers killed in Afghanistan.
Army SFC Kenneth W Westbrook, 41, of Shiprock, NM
Army SPC George W Cauley, 24, of Walker, MN
Marine LCpl Alfonso Ochoa Jr, 20, of Armona, CA
Marine SSgt Aaron J Taylor, 27, of Bovey, MN
That brings the total number of allied servicemembers killed in Iraq to 4,667, in Afghanistan, 1,463. During this same week, Iraq Body Count lists 74 Iraqi civilians killed. The bomb blast that killed the 4 service members in Afghanistan also killed an Afghan woman and her child.

I hope I live to see a time when we will not be waging "war" against any country. Where the Sunday's "In Memorium" will only be "famous" people who have passed and not the innocents or those in the service who have joined because, perhaps, there were no other "jobs" for them.
Some of these soldiers signed up or re-enlisted for military duty so they could get health insurance for their family, like Army Spc Gregory James Missman.
He deployed to Afghanistan on June 5 and was killed by an IED on July 8:

Heartbreaking.
End the wars, stop the slaughter.
Learn to live in peace with the Earth and its people.
has the US seen since the end of WW II ? .
August 15, 1945 until February 27, 1947 when the National Security Act, the Military Industrial Complex and Perpetual War were launched in the White House Cabinet room.
Not very long.
If they could track how many people died from lack of affordable health insurance? Put those numbers on TV.
names and numbers
could afford insurance.
grandson , joined the USMC about yr ago , great kid in my heart i will forever see him playing tug of war , with our dog " moose mutt " ( a Malamute ) she would drag him all over the yard .
Just out of HS could not find a job , what a sick way for the GOV to avoid the draft , crash the economy and force ppl to enlist totally FUBAR . Stay alive Zack , it breaks our hearts that you felt you had no other option .
Afghans are the people of Afghanistan. Afghanis are the official currency.

So sad, all these young people died for no reason. They will never have the chance to grow old.
