Been wondering how long 'til one of these groups came out in the open with a palm up, begging for taxpayer dough.

Not sure if they are a tax-exempt organization, but they shouldn't be.

U.S. could be facing debt 'time bomb' this year
Investors' thirst for American securities could finally be quenched

This guy, although one of the few economists with the balls to stand up to the corporate world, thinks borrowing trillions for "infastructure" will do nothing to aid the recession except create a ticking time bomb of debt. I kinda agree. Hope he's wrong, but it would take a miracle to borrow that kind of cash and think it will recover the economy. What's the answer? I don't know. Wish I did cuz then I'd be rich.

How about this for a New Years request: Can you folks at Firefox finally spend some $$ so I can open vids such as this and Youtube with regularity!! So sick of all the patches, reloading of new Flash versions, etc that work half-ass at best. Just git 'er done!!

I'm watching this now with FF 3.0.5. No problems.

In the World of Computers, patches are a way of life. That will never change.

Mere performance art or sharp political satire? You make the call. Considering we're talking thousands of shoes, I'm leaning more toward political satire, myself.

They laid off Nat Hentoff? Wow, what a bad move.

My first thought was that Bush told us the way to show that the terrorists haven't won is to go shopping. Thanks to conservative deregulation, a lot of American can't go shopping. Ergo....

Re the Irfans, though, the article noted that TSA said it was AirTran's call as to whether to remove the family and friend from the flight. It doesn't mention TSA's position re the fact that AirTran not only removed them but also refused to rebook them--even after they had been cleared! Two chances to behave rationally. Two choices to behave irrationally.

Last time I'll fly AirTran, and I hope others will respond similarly--making sure AirTran knows the reason, of course.
