Holy Crap is the shite!
Since the assault on Gaza began more than a week ago, 17 families have been wiped in their entirety. That means the husband, the wife and all their children were killed. This was reported by the BBC.
The BBC has just interviewed a European doctor volunteering at a Gaza hospital. The doctor said that of all the wounded and killed he's treated and seen throughout this past week, only "2 were fighters" (direct quote).
Israel is still insisting that there is no humanitarian crisis and claiming that it is not targeting civilians. UN officials in Gaza, the Red Cross and European doctors say that they don't have enough medicine or supplies. The Red Cross is also stating that Israel is NOT letting food aid in.
Of the 120 women and children that have been killed so far in Gaza, more than 50 were killed after Israel's land invasion.
Israel has been using cluster bombs on Gaza. Cluster bombs are illegal to use according to international law and in 2008 many European countries signed a treaty to ban them and never use them again. Israel gets the cluster bombs from the U.S..
Traces of Depleted Uranium have also been found on the wounded in Gaza. Depleted Uranium can cause cancer.
Despite the Israeli Supreme Court's decision to allow foreign journalists back into the Gaza Strip after an 18 month ban, the Israeli government and army are still refusing them entry.
The vast majority of the reporting is done on the Israel-Gaza border, about a mile or two from the actual border fence.
This brings me back to Israel's claims that there is no humanitarian crisis. How does Israel know, if it's not allowing journalists into the Strip? The point is moot, however.
