They are lapping up the Haitian disaster not because they are worried about the thousands of people that have been killed and are suffering there as we speak, but lapping it up to see how they can harm the president. Limbaugh said the White House thinks it can use the disaster to boost its credibility with the “light-skinned and dark-skinned black community” in the U.S. Defending his comments, Limbaugh attacked Obama for speaking publicly about Haiti sooner than he had the failed Christmas Day terror attack. Today on his radio show, Fox News host Glenn Beck jumped on the bandwagon:

I believe in God and Jesus. In the historical sense not the devotional sense. I believe, but not in the word. Using the Historical teachings I have faith but question the Bible. I do not believe in Satan as the Bible teaches. But in the past three days I'm questioning that belief. If there truly is an anti-Christ, Limbaugh is him and Beck is his devout follower. It's people like them that make you question your faith in both theories.

Christ taught that the rich will have a difficult time entering the Kingdom of God, and he repeatedly criticized practices he considered hypocritical. And I believe that when he says one must be like a child to enter the Kingdom of God, he does not mean innocent, naive, unspoiled, or uneducated ... he means open to learning and being able to grow.
Is Limbaugh the anti-Christ? I dispute that, because I don't hold with the Rapture nonsense, either. There's not going to be some magical mystery bus pulling up as the world is spiraling down into war and chaos. The concept of an anti-Christ, to me, means those things which are not Christlike, and when we have, as a whole, turned away from those teachings, then something like an unending war/armageddon would certainly be possible.

The President's authorization is necessary, but no matter when he responds, the state of forces in Afghanistan is the result of the previous administration's 'strategy.'
FORT HOOD. Facts not immediately available. Immediate response handled by military and local authorities. Only idiots like Beck and Limbaugh were railing about this being terrorism, when it appears to be a combat-related stress disorder exacerbated by personal religious beliefs. The President's authorization is not needed for immediate response.
HAITI. A natural disaster where accurate and critical data was immediately available through the USGS. No troops are immediately at risk, but American civilians are in jeopardy along with the native population. The President's authorization is key to initiating aid/rescue operations.

Not to minimize the dire straits of our Haitian brethren, especially since I am blessed with an abundance here in my warm, nicely appointed home, but I have been working three jobs to keep body and soul together and - since I am a substitute teacher, and subject to the same 'vacations' as my fellow teachers except without pay - I have insufficient income to pay my bare necessities this month. Not one of my family members will help me, despite most of them having the means and the opportunity. Without a scintilla of irony, they blame me for my current economic crisis, which is probably their way of rationalizing their lack of compassion.
This lack of basic compassion is much more prevalent than most will admit. When I read about how people are reacting to the efforts being made to help a country devastated by an earthquake and the deaths of tens of thousands of people, it's not surprising to me that so many are up in arms about the support we're providing. So few of us these days are willing to extend a helping hand...

Hey, I just had an idea for a Beck/Limbaugh show. They can tell their audience since white guys in powdered wigs and buckled shoes founded the country any subsequent deviation from that original standard is unconstitutional.
questioning these two a-holes as to what should have the response been? Would it have been just sitting on his ass reading "My Pet Goat"? Just ignore it, and hope it goes away? What's the problem with being a Mormon or an Atheist? There are plenty of decent, caring and compassionate Mormons and Atheists out there that are genuinely and emotionally moved by the tragic events going on in Haiti.

that catastrophes within and attacks upon our country brought people together. 9/11 did -for a very short time. It was only hours after the bombing that Fox and most of the other networks were using the tragedy to divide Americans, right against left, each screaming the other was to blame. Republicans allowed/caused 9/11, but Liberals were glad! and wanted to coddle the people who did it! Wicked. Evil. Murdoch -who, shamefully is an American citizen- and many others who are willing and able to destroy the world so long as they remain in power.
Beck, Limbaugh, and their followers are evil, sick, and completely twisted. They are the ones who divide. The fact is, they see this crisis bringing the country together, even though it's in another country, and they can't stand it. The idea that we would join together and show some human decency towards another country during a horrible crisis drives them absolutely crazy. Maybe they're afraid this crisis will actually wake up some of their zombie followers.
The right wingers are also upset because Bush sat on his hands during the first week of Katrina while thousands of Americans died and suffered without food, water, shelter, or medical care. Obama, on the other hand, has responded promptly and effectively to a humanitarian crisis. Obviously, they must find fault with it.
