Kathy Griffin

Now, Kathy Griffin's telling a few different versions of this story, so we don't know if it's literal. But I think we can assume that something close to this did actually happen, and if it did, good for her!

Kathy Griffin had the extreme pleasure of bumping into Michele Bachmann at a political event; the two ladies recognized one another and when they started to speak an assistant filmed the exchange, supposedly for Bachmann's website. Kathy, always on top of her game, decided to ask the tea party princess if she'd attend a rally to repeal DADT — and when Bachmann said no, Griffin followed up with, "Were you born a bigot or did you grow into one?" Boom.

(h/t Heather) The team here at C&L were a bit confused earlier today when we heard that Kathy Lee Gifford was dating Levi Johnston. No no no it's Kathy GRIFFIN. We love her.

And unlike Sarah Palin, Kathy keeps it real via Twitter (yesterday): "Spooning with Levi (my new very serious lover/boyfriend) now. "D List" season finale is tonight. Coincidence? Of course not."

How dare they!

Why do they always attack Italians like this?

I think we need an "Italian League."
OK, I'm only kidding, but this is what the right wing constantly does. Complain, complain, complain. Claim bias when there is none. Kathy Griffin makes a Jesus joke and the William Donohue's springs into action. Pretty soon all comedians will be targeted. Drudge lined up Chris Rock right before he hosted the Oscars a few years ago. Sigh...I think MadTV does a great job with these bits.

Kathy Griffin's Emmy Remarks to Be Censored because?

She had the nerve not to thank Jesus and make a joke.

"Kathy Griffin's offensive remarks will not be part of the E! telecast on Saturday night," the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said in a statement Monday. In her speech, Griffin said that "a lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus."

She went on to hold up her Emmy, make an off-color remark about Christ and proclaim, "This award is my god now!" The off-color remark was to say, "Suck it, Jesus."

I happen to like Jesus and His teachings a great deal, but this is ridiculous. This is America and we have a Constitution---or so I thought. And she has the same free speech rights that the odious and violent Bill Donohue has. I haven't seen him censored. (scroll down to see some of his antics)
