As of October 3, 2003, George W. Bush had spent 250 days on vacation. That's over 90 days more than Clinton had accumulated in his first seven years as President. I just saw a picture of him golfing with his father. I don't know when the picture was taken. It might have been during the month-long vacation he took in August of 2003. It was a quiet month in Iraq, too, as only thirty-five US soldiers died.

It might have been taken during August of 2001, when Bush enjoyed the longest Presidential vacation in thirty-two years. It was during this vacation that a Presidential Daily Briefing entitled "Bin Laden determined to attack inside the U.S." was read, or read to, or should have been read, or should have been read to, the President. In response to this memo, no action was taken.

It must be nice to have a job where you can give yourself month-long paid vacations and go golfing. Lots of people don't get a month's worth of paid vacation all year. Some people can't afford to go on vacation, ever. I wonder if they would consider Bush's job "hard work".
