In poll, half believe Bush supports draft.

WASHINGTON -- In spite of denials by the Bush administration, half of young Americans surveyed in a national poll said they believe President Bush wants to reinstate the military draft. [Boston.com / News / Politics]

The National Annenberg Election Survey found that of the 1,543 adults surveyed, 51 percent of those ages 18 to 29 believe Bush wants to reinstate the draft. Eight percent said they believe Kerry supports a draft, and 7 percent said both candidates do.

A fourth of those polled said neither Bush nor Kerry favors the idea, as both candidates have said.
