There was a major showdown in the Senate today, and National Journal's description was spot on:

Don Rumsfeld wouldn't testify. Hillary Clinton demanded his presence.

He showed up. You can argue the politics of this, but...

She proceeded to grill him, garnering wall-to-wall coverage on all the cable networks.

There can be little doubt who won the exchange. RawStory said Clinton "tore into" the Defense Secretary, which is putting it mildly. Rumsfeld was on the defensive from the get-go.

Raw Story has the transcript of the hearing. If it had been a prize fight, the judges would have stopped it half-way through.
