Someone really needs to tell serial divorcee Rush Limbaugh, who owned a penthouse with a bedroom that would have made Liberace envious, and who was caught going on a little blue pill adventure in the Dominican Republic, that he really needs to STFU when it comes to any of his fellow inhabitants of this planet and their sex lives or sexual orientation.
Sadly, until he either retires, quits, dies, or gets fired and someone finally prevents him from polluting our airways across the country, that's not likely to happen any time soon. He'll remain in his bubble, hearing what he's willing and allows himself to hear and spouting the kind of hateful crap on his radio show he did here.
After NFL prospect Michael Sam came out prior to this year's draft, Limbaugh couldn't resist using it as an excuse to attack Sam and the media for heaven forbid, wanting to see a gay man have a chance to succeed.
LIMBAUGH: Heterosexuality has no political agenda and there is no agenda attached to it. Heterosexuality does not have activists. Don't, don't -- you're wrong, Snerdly, Snerdly -- but they're under assault. Heteros--you say heterosexuality may be 95, 98 percent of the population -- they're under assault by the 2-5 percent that are homosexual.
So why -- I'm just asking, I'm just throwing it out there -- why is there a political agenda attached to and driven by homosexuality and there is no corresponding heterosexual agenda? Forget minority versus majority. That's not what I have in mind here, and it's not because a minority must do what it has to do to overcome a majority because that's not the answer.
OK cool, good, that's wrong too. I got people shouting what they think in my ear. They're all going to be wrong. OK, let me keep going. Why is it OK now for a gay man to play football? I thought it was dangerous and leads to concussions, that it was barbaric. I thought that it was too dangerous and leads to Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and early death, suicide, but yet, but yet, here comes the first announced gay guy and 'hey cool, man, go for it!'
Why is it heroic for a gay man to play football? I'm just positing these questions, because there is an answer to all of these questions. And the answer is key and fundamental to understanding.
Folks, you would not believe, this is why, you know you ask me all the time, how come we can't hear these people talking to you? Because of what's happening right now. I have got more people shouting, 'because the media wants a gay football player to succeed.'
OK, that's -- why is a gay man playing football heroic? 'Because the media wants a gay player to succeed.'
OK, you're halfway there. Why does the media want a gay player to succeed?
Maybe it's because not all of them are racist, homophobic, hate-mongering, bile-spewing, right-wing propagandists who make their living playing the divide and conquer game to keep the working class rubes fighting among themselves like you do Rush.
Maybe because he's been brave enough to overcome the likes of you and your ilk Rush. Maybe it's because the rest of the country is finally getting beyond the type of vitriol and hatred that the likes of Limbaugh spews for public consumption for anyone willing to listen on a daily basis.
