Our country does not value education. We might say that we do, but our actions speak louder than our words. And when our actions result in 600 teachers quitting in the Wake County school district this year alone — up 41% from the previous year — we’re doing something horribly wrong.
“We’re going on years with no raises for teachers, and there needs to be a change,” Britt Morton, Departing Apex High teacher said.
But for hundreds of teachers in Wake County aren’t willing to wait for that change.
“Now we’re having to leave, just to make ends meet,” Morton said
