The Ink Spots were a pretty interesting band, being sort of a proto-doo-wop group that spent almost 20 years laying a foundation for the genre. That's a long time for a vocal pop group, considering most of them lasted only a few years. Having covered that much time in the 20th century, the group has become a quite popular option for music licensing. It's not uncommon to hear their material in accompaniment to period pieces and things of the like since they were so definitive of the sound of their time.
