Liz Cheney: My Father Would Never Make These Concessions To Iran
Liz Cheney is not amused that President Obama took a few jabs at their father on The Daily Show.
President Obama made a final appearance on The Daily Show last night, and he got in a few jabs his critics when asked about the recently negotiated Iranian nuclear deal: On 'Daily Show,' Obama teases Dick Cheney fans on Iran deal:
President Barack Obama told comedian Jon Stewart on Tuesday that critics of his Iran deal think he should have sent former Vice President Dick Cheney to the negotiations with the Iranians.
Obama poked fun at opponents of the deal during an appearance on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show." He said those critics think if only Cheney had been there, "everything would be fine."
Obama said Iran is an adversxary that is anti-American and anti-Israel. But he said you don't make peace with your friends. Obama added that the U.S. doesn't have to give anything up in the Iran deal and said the next president will have more options because of the agreement.
Of course that didn't sit too well with his warmongering daughter, who made an appearance on Fox this Wednesday and attacked President Obama: Liz Cheney to Obama: My Father Would Never Make These Concessions to Iran:
Cheney's daughter, Liz, reacted this morning, telling Bill Hemmer that her father would never have agreed to these concessions to Tehran.
"I think it's self-evident that Dick Cheney would have gotten a better deal than this one. ... Frankly, it's hard to imagine anybody who wouldn't have gotten a better deal," she said.
Cheney said her father would never consider lifting sanctions on Iran's Revolutionary Guard, along with paying Iran $150 billion, "while simultaneously guaranteeing them a pathway to a nuclear arsenal."
She called it a "fantasy" to believe that Iran's unfrozen assets will only be used domestically, as the Obama administration claims, and not to support terrorist organizations.
"Those of us who have been critical of this deal all along, frankly couldn't have imagined that this would be as bad as it is. We couldn't have imagined an American president would be willing to lift the restrictions on Iran's ballistic missile program. ... It's unimaginable in terms of how bad it is and how dangerous it is," said Cheney.
It seems Fox wants to do their part to help out the AIPAC supporters and their allies, who are about to do a full court press on members of Congress at upcoming town hall meetings to try to get them kill the deal, and as Politico reported, they've already dumped a ton of money on advertising over the last month or so: $1.4 million ad buy targets Obama's Iran deal:
Millions of dollars worth of ads will hit the airwaves this week in an effort to pressure senators to take a hard line against President Barack Obama’s nascent nuclear deal with Iran — with a June 30 deadline to wrap up the agreement just a week away.
The latest salvo lands Wednesday, when the American Security Initiative, a bipartisan group chaired by former senators, unleashes an ad blitz, urging eight senators from both parties to oppose any nuclear deal that doesn’t allow “unconditional inspections” of Iran’s nuclear facilities. The target list includes Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader in waiting, and John Thune of South Dakota, the GOP’s chief message man, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The group will spend about $1.4 million on the ad buys, beginning Wednesday, and run a full-page ad in The New York Times on June 29. Its board of directors includes former colleagues of many of the targeted senators: Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), Evan Bayh (D-Ind.), Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.).
“It was a good time to get out into the discussion and to focus on eight important senators, four from each party, and just say to them: Please make clear to the administration that you’re not going to support an agreement with Iran that does not have additional inspections,” Lieberman said in an interview. “If the final agreement does not have that kind of inspection system, then I would do anything I can to urge Congress to reject it.”
As Karoli reminded everyone the other day, if you don't want the neocons who want to get us into another war to be the only voices heard by your member of Congress, let them know how you feel about this: You Need To Talk To Your Dem Legislators About Iran NOW.
