This Maricopa County Recorder needs to resign or be fired, sooner rather than later. She had ONE JOB, and she screwed it up, royally.

TBogg over at Raw Story:

According to earlier estimate Tuesday night, about 800,000 people headed for those 60 poll locations with predictable results including voters giving up and going home.

While that disaster was unfolding, Purcell calmly stood before a Fox reporter and gave a master class in buck-passing and “mistakes were made” and blame shifting and petulance which began with blaming the voters.

“Just to start, obviously you’ve heard of all the frustration. Who is to blame for this, these long lines?” Purcell was asked.

Well, the voters for getting in line, maybe us for not having enough voting places,” she replied.

Just. NO. A thousand times, NO.

It was her job to make sure voters had ample opportunity to vote without having to wait in ridiculously long lines. It was her job, and it was her ONLY JOB.

Now there's all sorts of conspiracy theories rolling around the Internet about how this voter suppression gave the race to Clinton, or Trump, or whoever the candidate wasn't. The truth is, one Republican idiot recorder in Arpaio country made an idiotic decision to shutter 140 polling places to save money, and then she blamed voters.

That's unacceptable. She should resign or be fired immediately, and the DOJ should investigate her.

Update:

There's a White House Petition you can sign demanding an investigation.
