LeBron James Bashes Trump: 'That Guy Continues To Try To Divide Us As People'

The face of the NBA held a press conference to explain why he called Trump a "bum" over the weekend for the president's remarks about NFL players.

NBA star Lebron James held a presser to explain why he was so critical of Trump's attacks on the Stephen Curry and NFL players over the weekend.

Stephen Curry said he was not in favor of going to the White House to celebrate the Warriors championship because of Trump's rhetoric, but a team decision had not been made, Trump then responded with another inflammatory tweet:

LeBron James jumped in with a response of his own.

James told the press that the reaction of the fans, the NFL and their players was "unbelievable. It was solidarity and there was no divide - even from 'that guy' that continues to try to divide us as people."

Lebron continued, "And like I said on one of my social media platforms a couple days ago, the thing that kind of frustrated me and pissed me off a little bit is the fact that he’s now, he used sport, he used the sports platform to try to divide us.”

James said how much enjoyment Americans get by supporting sports and their teams and how unifying it can be.

He continued, "I'm not going to let one individual no matter the power, the impact that he should have or she should have - ever use sport as a platform to divide us."

"How can we personally throughout everything that 'that guy' is doing no matter if you voted for him or not, you may have made a mistake and that's okay," he quipped.

“We have to figure out a way how we come together and be as great as we can be as a people. Because the people run this country, not one individual. And damn sure not him,” James said.

Trump has faced an avalanche of criticism from the sports community, from many that supported him with his out of the blue attacks on protesting NFL players on twitter and during a Friday night rally in Alabama.
