George Santos Is A Menace Behind The Wheel, Too

George Santos seems to owe thousands in unpaid traffic tickets, including several for running red lights and speeding in school zones.

It’s not too surprising that a guy who allegedly ripped off the owner of a dying dog, is wanted for fraud in Brazil and lied his way into Congress would also think he is above the traffic laws the rest of us abide. But it’s still galling.

CBS News reports that a car registered to Santos was cited six times in 2016 and 2017 in Florida. There were two tickets for running red lights and four toll violations. The red light tickets were paid but he reportedly now owes $1,299.10 for the rest, which were turned over to collection agencies.

When Santos was issued his New York driver’s license, in late 2016, he seems to have become even more of a danger on the road. New York does not identify its ticketed drivers but a car with the same license plate racked up five more red light violations and 24 additional tickets that include double parking and expired meter violations. 17 of the citations were paid, amounting to more than $1,800, but $2,142.62 remains due for the remaining 12, CBS found.

Santos doesn’t seem to bother himself with speed limits, either, even in school zones. Since his election, a car Santos has frequently been seen driving was issued at least five speeding tickets, four of which were in school zones, the New York Post reported in January.
